    Corned beef hash omelette
    Kenny D.

I was excited to finally get to Marie's following all the rave reviews I heard from people and read on Yelp. Ultimately, for me it was a mixed bag. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and in true diner lore I observed them being even more engaging with the regulars. I ordered a corned beef hash omelette and grits. The grits were solid but I was less impressed with the omelette. While I appreciated the significant bang for your buck with a huge omelette worth twice the sticker price on the menu, the meat was perhaps too plentiful and overpowered the eggs - making the dish less balanced than I prefer. The eggs also lacked the "real eggs" consistency and taste I love. It was ok, but when I cannot finish a dish that says a lot - I have a huge appetite after all! I am, however, glad my table mate said they have delicious cakes. When you first walk in there is a display of many wonderful looking cakes, and they do taste as good as they look. I tried a slice of chocolate and a slice of blueberry lemon. They were both succulent delights, making it a darn near certainly that I'll be back to the diner even if only to buy more cake!

First time here and definitely won't be our last! We came during the snow storm and called ahead to make sure they were open. Their lot was cleared of the snow and ice, but they were packed with people! We walked into a warm restaurant with lots of smells hitting our noses. We glanced to our right and found a whole case of desserts which looked so appetizing. We got seated almost instantly and had a great waitress named Kim. She knew the 6 paged menu like the back of her hand. We took advantage of some of her favorites, and they didnt disappoint! I ordered the iconic sausage gravy and biscuits. The gravy was definitely homemade and poured generously over the top of the freshly made biscuits. I also got 2 eggs and some scrapple. Kevin had the chicken fried biscuit pictured on the menu and subbed loaded brunch potatoes for his side. The portions for everything were way larger than expected and caused us to have leftovers. We will definitely be back soon! Jake n kev

We were greeted by our server and immediately seated. The place was actually more crowded than we thought it would be on a weekday evening. Ordered two fried chicken dinners. Each came with two sides plus a side salad and a biscuit, for 10.99. The food was average, but considering price and the amount of food, a great value. Not super fancy, definitely a no frills place. But if you're on a budget and super hungry this is definitely the place for you. Weekends during brunch hours are typically packed, so maybe try a week day for a shorter wait time. Oh, and how can I forget...the cakes. For the price point, serving size, and taste, these cakes are definitely worth trying. Whether they're home made or not is up to you to decide, but for cheap eats....no complaints here!!

This charming, family-run spot may be small, but it delivers big on flavor and hospitality. The food is consistently excellent, and the customer service is top-notch. The biscuits are absolutely incredible, and the steak is cooked exactly to your preference--mine was medium, and it was perfect. Be sure to try a mimosa; they're delicious and come in a variety of flavors. Arriving early is a good idea, as there can be a wait, but trust me--it's well worth i

Greeted with a very friendly smile and atmosphere. Thank you Eddie! Employees looked like they should all be exhausted, working so very hard. Extremely valuable, and varied menu. Something for everyone! No matter what you're looking for they have a homemade meal for you that feels touched with the loving values of a soul to please the pallet. Erica our waitress was a constant blur of business. There is a wait to be seated for a reason!

This place never disappoints. The food is delicious, portions are beyond generous and the prices can't be beat! We purposely take a longer route when traveling through to make sure we grab a delicious meal no matter the time of day!

Marie's Diner offers that warm, Southern, home-style vibe with generous portions at incredibly reasonable prices. I've tried everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner, and every meal has been excellent. If you're planning to visit, definitely check their website to join the waitlist ahead of time--there's usually a bit of a wait, which speaks to how good the food is. The seating can feel a bit tight, but the delicious meals and great service more than make up for it!

Going back for a second time, we…read moreboth ordered a half rack of baby back ribs, I asked for a side of mac & cheese and a baked sweet potato. When the food was delivered to our table extraordinarily quickly, we both noticed that our food was cold, as in as cold as being pulled out of the fridge, slathered with a little BBQ sauce and put on a plate. The only thing warm in my order was the baked sweet potato. Their version of "Texas Toast" was toasted white bread, not even Wonder Bread. No flavor to the cold white bread toast. Nothing special to write home about on this visit, which was disappointing, considering it was a Friday, usually one of the busiest times for most restaurants. This place was practically empty when we pulled into the lot. When we brought it to the attention of the staff, the young lady who was our server was busy helping every other table and not looking toward us. I got the attention of the manager and when he came over, I explained that everything (except the baked sweet potato) was cold. He took up both plates, apologized profusely and took the plates into the kitchen. This got the attention of our server and she asked what was wrong. When he explained to her that all of both plates were cold, she finally came over to talk to us and briefly explained they had a new person in the kitchen. I was thinking, if you have a new person in the kitchen, how bad is it when they can't understand that hot food needs to be cooked in order to be considered "hot"? The second plates they brought out were "warmer" than the previous ones but not by much. It was warm enough to eat and it still tasted good, the meat still fell off the bones and it was filling. The "Texas Toast" is NOT Texas Toast, no matter how you define it. In the end, when a restaurant makes a mistake like that, they usually compensate the patrons for their mistake. We were charged full price for our meal, which we paid without a problem, but this was NOT the "A Team" of this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good but the initial presentation wasn't on par with opur previous experience here. We will come back again, hoping they will perform as good as they did the first time we were there.

We completely understand that restaurants get busy -- especially on weekends -- but being essentially turned away because it was "too busy" was unacceptable. There was no real attempt to accommodate us, no clear communication about realistic wait times, and no effort to make us feel valued as customers. For a place that markets itself as family-friendly and big on hospitality, this experience fell far short. This wasn't just a random dinner -- it was my toddler's birthday. We chose this restaurant expecting a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable experience for our family. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, inconvenienced, and honestly embarrassed after building up the excitement for him. Busy is understandable. Poor guest management and lack of care -- especially when a young child's birthday is involved -- is not. I truly hope ownership and management take situations like this seriously. Families choose your establishment for special occasions, and how situations like this are handled speaks volumes. Highly dissatisfied with this experience.

It's rare to go somewhere new and fully have your spirits lifted. We tried the crab balls, the surf and turf with steak, added scallops and some sides. It was so good. The seafood, the steak, everything was cooked to perfection. It was very filling too. I think my favorite side was the rice. I did like the macaroni but I was unexpectedly blown away by the rice. Today I finally visited and was a bit disappointed to see the underwhelming interior where it is strictly carry out and cheap metal guest chairs to wait on while the food is prepared. They were slightly charred which was nice, and they were juicy, but they could have been cooked a little more (they were like medium to medium well and I prefer well done - I should note they didn't ask how I preferred my burgers cooked). I also ordered their jumbo fried wings and picked sweet and sassy sauce. The sauce was tasty and the wings had a nice texture, but beyond the sauce the wings had a plain flavor suggesting they didn't season the wings before frying and then coating them with sauce. Overall the food was solid but not awe inspiring. I was less impressed with their cakes. I ordered a strawberry slice and a carrot cake. The carrot cake was moist and wasn't bad at all.
