My second time dining here and the food was delicious as always. I ordered the menu special gnocchi boar wagu this time. Definitely decent dish and fresh to order. The staff gave excellent service and was charismatic towards my group with the salmon dish return. The salmon was the least favorite but every other dished ordered below was delicious. We ended up ordering the the lobster ravioli. Mi piace.

Pasta was terrific

A wonderful spot enjoyed by all who dinned there. You can sit outside, inside or at the bar. All great and the waitstaff is perfectly friendly and accommodating. The food is extra good and fresh. All in all a great experience. My husband and I both enjoyed it and will be back.

Kale Pesto Pasta

Pretty solid Italian spot with an open kitchen so you can see inside where all the magic happens. We were seated quickly (to be fair it was 8pm on a Wednesday but still), and the food came out just as quickly. I feel like most Italian places I go to are so insanely slow (for the ambience of course), but we actually were in a rush so we appreciated the hustle. I ordered the walnut pesto dish, which was tube pasta with walnut kale pesto. It was super yummy, especially with extra cheese sprinkled on top (I'm a hoe for cheese on pasta). I liked the texture that the walnuts brought to the bite as well. It was very noticeably oily though, with oil collecting like soup at the bottom of the bowl. I also thought that the portion size was very small. Both my friend and I were still hungry after leaving, even though what we got was great. Looking at the menu, the food is pretty reasonably priced on first glance, but considering the amount of pasta you get for your buck, that initial judgement call definitely starts to waver. Loved the comfy vibe though! And appreciated the attentive service.

The restaurant feels intimate. The waitress was pleasant and the food came at an average rate. Brunch was until 4 PM on Saturday so I got the pancakes. The peaches were tasty. The pancakes were not buttery or sweet enough for me but my friend said Ricotta pancakes can be like that. This place seems good for a date/catching up with a friend.

Came here to treat my friends to their birthdays belated/ early (one was Oct and another in Dec) brunch on a Sunday 11am. The ambience is the quintessential Park Slope vibe where our server spoke with a European accent and the menu had some typical American/ Italian fare produced with classical French techniques at fair prices. I had the lobster ravioli. Nicely plated with an abundance of peas in a cream sauce that was not too heavy. You can however taste that it was probably previously frozen as the pasta as al dente, but the lobster overcooked. My friend's ricotta pancakes were pretty light and fluffy.

Lovely rustic Italian spot that hits the spot, but wouldn't say it's the top spot in the area A group of four of us came on a freezing Friday night and it was a bit chilly inside too, especially since they pulled one of their frozen patio tables directly from outside for us since they ran out of tables. That said the candlit ambiance is classic and lovely and the staff were nice and attentive We started with the burrata eggplant appetizer. It's a unique combination and I thought it was very tasty. It was a light bite split four ways. They provide complimentary Italian bread and offered us a refill, too Main dishes were a bit hit or miss -kale pesto- yummy! The pesto and pastas all seem to be homemade -salmon with black spaghetti- two friends for this swapped wirh regular fettuccini and found the pasta was over cooked, but good flavor -bolognese- my friend seemed to like it Overall, I'd go back for good vibes since I live nearby, especially for the patio in the summer

I came with a friend for dinner. I got the arancine , tagliatelle with Ragu sauce and espresso panna cotta. They start off with bread and olive oil, then the food comes out. All of it was good quality and tasty. It felt like a neighborhood favorite. Servers were nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Beware of the opening door if it's very cold.

I came to Mariella for dinner in late January 2021. I live in Brooklyn but not too close to the area. My friend picked this place, I'd never heard of it previously. We came without a reservation around 6 on a Monday night. It was a pretty cold night, and they didn't have outdoor heaters at the time we dined. The service was kind and efficient. They gave us complimentary bread and olive oil to start after we ordered. I got a pasta dish with pesto sauce and thought it was fine. I liked my friend's pasta dish a lot more. We also had some roasted potatoes on the side that were a lot like thick fries. Solid choice for Italian in the area but I wouldn't say this is a place you need to go out of the way for.

Food: 4/5 Stopped by for brunch yesterday. We ordered a burrata, a frittata and a bolognese. The burrata was delicious! It was full of flavor and came loaded with cheese, eggplant and tomatoes. It might be one of the best burratas Ive had. It was light, tangy and creamy! Definitely recommend! My frittata came with kale, mushrooms, cheese and a little bit of onions. I personally thought it was a bit too heavy on the cheese but my pup sure didn't mind! My dog loves cheese! The frittata was light and airy. Perfectly made! The bolognese looked amazing. I'm giving this place a 4/5 because I ordered the frittata. They have so many other pasta options on the menu. We went for brunch so I wanted eggs but next time, I'll try the pasta for sure! (My friends food looked much better than mine.) Carbs are tastier than eggs for sure! Service: 5/5 Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating. I think I asked her for three cups of coffee and she refilled my cup eagerly every time! She naturally had an accommodating personality. I think her name was Lulijiana? As soon as I arrived, she poured a bowl of water for my dog. She was such a dear.. Ambiance: 3/5 This "outdoor dining" thing can only stretch so far into the colder season. It was a bit chilly under the tent and the streets were very loud for a weekend. I had to drink a lot of coffee to keep me warm. Totally not the restaurants fault but I crave normalcy. The inside was a bit rustic and had old school charm. Overall, great place to dine. Laid back and casual. Great date spot!

Spinach ricotta ravioli with brown butter and sage

Every single bite here was delicious. The bread with olive oil was delicious, and the special of the day which was spinach ricotta ravioli was so good I was literally lapping up the brown butter sauce with the remaining bread we had. Ate every last bite. Service was prompt and friendly and the ambiance was cute, especially for a date.

Wow. Mariella was serious a home run. Was searching on Yelp for a spot that serves pasta and we ended up here! Ordered the octopus zucchini appetizer as my entree because I wanted something light. HOLY LORD SAVIOR THE FLAVOR IT SERVES! This was by far the best octopus I've had in the United States. It's up there with the octopus I've had in Greece, Croatia, Barcelona and Italy. Ever had octopus melt in your mouth? The octopus here absolutely does! Paired with the peppery arugula and refreshing mint vinaigrette- muah! Brava! Also the zucchini doesn't taste like plain zucchini. It's buttery and zingy at the same time. 10/10 highly recommend this dish. My friend got the spinach ricotta ravioli in brown butter with sage. She cleaned her plate without even coming up for air and was literally dipping the remainder of the bread from the basket in the brown butter sauce at the end she loved it so much. Your dinner starts with bread & the most flavorful olive oil. Delightfully bright with notes of pepper and fruit. It's no wonder our dinner was so marvelous-- the owner (I think he was the owner) was very sweet when I had a quick chat with him about the octopus. He had a very nice European accent as well!

Taim - OG Falafel Pita sandwich

I have been a big fan of Taïm since their days as a lonely outpost in the Village. Since that time…read morethey have turned into a franchise and locations are popping up in some of the most unexpected places. While walking down Hoyt Street in downtown Brooklyn I saw the Taïm logo out of the corner of my eye and I knew I had to check it out. This location is located at the base of a new(ish) residential building and I found myself thinking about how great it would be to have a Taïm right downstairs from where I lived! The interior is an open space with bright colors and light wood decor that is comforting and welcoming at the same time. To the right is a small counter at the window and there are seats to the left. Further on towards the right is a counter where you order via a screen. Near that is the "pick up" shelf for online orders. The counter and kitchen are towards the back. Overall it is a nice set up. Of course, the question one asks when visiting a franchise location is: is the food as good as I remember from the original? I am happy to report it IS! Here's what I had: Green Falafel This is the traditional falafel that first had me fall in love with Taïm. It is made to order so it is fresh. The outside is nice and crisp while the inside is still soft (but not chewy). The flavor is on point thanks to some fantastic seasoning. Add in their Tahini and Whipped Garlic and it's a wonderful dish. Harissa Falafel As you'd expect, this is basically their regular falafel with some spicy harissa seasoning added in. There is a nice bite this adds to their already awesome flavor. Pita with Hummus The pita bread in this combo is topped with Za'atar seasoning, giving it an extra savory flavor. The hummus is not plain, instead it is also seasoned giving it some nice flavor. Now, it does not beat the likes of Hummus Kitchen or Hummus Place, but for fast casual it is very good! The pita bread was soft and chewy with fantastic flavor. A perfect vehicle to deliver Hummus! I was very happy to find this location and will definitely visit again.

I wanted them to know there was plastic in the food in hopes of preventing others from eating plastic, and I wanted a refund since my meal was inedible after finding a foreign object in it (I was less than halfway done). The manager Kim looked at the plastic and looked at me like I had five heads and asked what it is I wanted it. I explained I'd like a refund, and she said best she could do was give me 30% back. I said there was plastic in my food, and I couldn't eat it and I wanted a full refund. She went on to tell me that their food is wrapped in plastic and it's possible it got in the food. She then held the plastic top to the container my meal was served in and said "well, this is plastic" implying that there was no difference between something being served IN plastic and plastic being MIXED IN my food. It's concerning a manager of a food establishment would be so flippant about patrons ingesting foreign objects. I was honestly so shocked by her behavior that I said she was crazy to suggest that and walked out with no refund at all. I would honestly stay away from here if you care about your safety and well being.

I found this drink was a little boring and wish I had ordered a topping like cheese foam in addition to it, but was served in a cute plastic mason jar looking cup. My friend got the Creamy Real Taro Paste Bobo with organic oat milk, milk tea and light ice. I had also selected the option to sample the Taro, but sadly was not offered any. This drink was much more exciting and I really enjoyed the unique flavors and texture when I got to try several sips of it. Again, one thing that really stood out was the variety of selections one could make when customizing their drink. This place looks like it has rotating/seasonal options and an interesting food menu as well and so I do plan on returning!
