The Mystery Man with a Strawberry Matcha & churro latte! Yummy
    Amy E.

Came here on a Friday morning with the Mystery man for breakfast. First let me start off by saying it was packed lol! I already knew it was going to be good just based on there being no parking spaces left in the lot! We walked in after parking on the street. There was a tiny table in the middle left & we were fortunate enough to be seated immediately. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was wonderful & very attentive & answered any questions we had. I enjoyed my huevos rancheros & iced Strawberry matcha latte. My darling husband, opted for a chicken, egg, waffle sandwich which was right up his alley. He enjoyed along with his iced churro latte. The food was incredible & we would certainly come back. It was a nice little cafe ambiance. There was decent seating throughout but imagine it would be very busy on the weekends but they do a great job moving very quickly so I don't think the wait is too long. You get 1.5 hours at a table per the sign at the front. It makes sense. It was very good! Highly recommend!

Ambiance: Came to this cute Brunch spot on a Sunday morning with a group of 4. We made a reservation becuase it get's packed - parking lot is tight and has limited spaces, but luckily we were able to find spots. Food: We had the waffle mix, cheese quesadilla, mozarella sticks, avocado toast, and cold/hot coffees. The food was decent and our group liked it. Service: From being seated to the end of our brunch, our server was super helpful and professional.

What a find! We found this place after a long search when in town and not finding what I wanted in a diner. Maria's brunch is located near downtown Metuchen and is truly a gem. A smaller parking lot so you may need to find street parking and don't be surprised if there is a wait. Truly worth the wait thought. Inside you will find a cozy little cafe style dining room. I appreciated that they have unlimited regular coffee and as I saw signature lattes going by they looked great as well. They have an extensive menu with a wide array of options and one thing of note is you can order sides so I ordered some eggs scrambled as that wasn't listed in the menu. These were some of the best textured pancakes I have eaten in a while as they are so fluffy and smooth. These cheesecake bites in between were great touch and this does not need any syrup as the strawberry compote is delicious. Definitely will be back again!

So so delicious! My husband and I were in town for the weekend and found this restaurant on Yelp. It was about an hour and a half wait (that seems to be the norm here). We just took a walk to wait out the time. The restaurant is cute and homey. Everyone is very friendly and the food is delicious. I had the Luxi omelette and my husband had strawberry cheesecake pancakes. Both were very good and a great price. If you can stomach a long wait on weekends, it's worth a stop.

I have to give this spot a 5 stars for accommodating my group of 16! We made reservations weeks in advance, however it was seamless to do so. They are extremely insistent that the whole party must be present to be sat, so be aware of that. There were several interesting brunch options. Whether you want sweet or savor, there is something for you on the menu. It is a little cramped inside, but comes off as homey. Definitely a place to check out!

My party of 6 was able to be accommodated without a reservation on a Sunday to outdoor seating in August which was fine because inside was very crowded and loud anyway. We enjoyed our time catching up with old friends and were not rushed. This place also has the best pancakes I've had at a restaurant with crispy edges and the perfect fluffiness (and I'm a HUGE pancake critic so I took a risk here). But well worth it! Pretty economical in pricing too. I will say parking is very limited to their small lot and paid street parking. Great place though, I'd go again!

Cute little spot in Metuchen. It was packed. You can get on the waitlist over the phone. I was told it was a 2 hour wait but to show up 30 min prior. We showed up at 1:30pm and there was 1 empty table. We still waited about 15 minutes and they gave us the empty table. We ordered the chorizo special. And the Dubai waffles. Everything was delicious. They open at 7am. Next time, I'd go at 7am instead of midday. There's a small parking lot. Service was friendly and fast once you were seated. I'd come back and try their other offerings.

Updated, January 23, 2025 I had lunch in this place yesterday. I ordered their lunch Pastrami Sandwich on Rye with melted mozzarella cheese. It's delicious. Serving staff are helpful. Well decorated place for the coming Valentines Day.

Maria's is the quintessential brunch spot. It's cozy, staffed with friendly faces, and offers lots of creative menus options. I stopped in with my wife and three little ones on a Friday morning. We were able to find parking in their small lot, but when we left there were others eagerly waiting to take our spot. I ordered a chorizo benedict from their spring specials. The plate was loaded with delicious chorizo! The traditional hollandaise sauce came with a delightful a chipotle twist. I mopped it up with my potatoes. My wife ordered the waffle sandwich and was a bit disappointed. The piece of fried chicken tasted like a defrosted tender and the hash browns followed suit. The waffle was okay, but needed to be firmer. My son loved his, but that's the difference between a 4 year old and mom! All in all, we had a good experience and think next time we'll stick with their specials and other hispanic inspired dishes.

I had lunch here today with a colleague. We arrived a little after noon and were told we would have roughly a 30 minute wait. (Pro tip: call ahead and get on the list). The restaurant was busy and full. The noise level was moderate for a Friday lunch period. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with the chipotle mayo on ciabatta. It came with french fries, which were okay. I enjoyed my sandwich thoroughly and all the ingredients were fresh. The server was polite, attentive, and friendly. A basic lunch for two with tip is going to run you around $40.

This place is such a gem and definitely worth the visit! We had a party of 2 on a weekend morning and had a reservation (highly recommend because this place was extremely busy). The parking lot is tiny but we were able to find street parking. We ordered a French Vanilla Latte, Big Breakfast with Bacon, and a Breakfast Burrito. It was exactly what we were looking for! The menu is large enough that there is something for everyone. I recommend giving Maria's a try if you haven't already!

Nice little cozy brunch restaurant built into a house on a corner in metuchen NJ. I ordered a breakfast burrito (Scrambled eggs, ham, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese & tomatoes, served with salsa ). It was a properly wrapped burrito that you could pickup without it coming apart and becoming messy. It was delicious I definitely recommend it. I also had a freshly squeezed orange juice that was very good and wasn't full of pulp. The service was good I was seated immediately and my order was taken in a timely manner. It's definitely worth a visit

    Cobb wrap with home fries

This place is very small and gets packed but it was very good. I came with 2 friends and we did call ahead seating which worked out where we only had to wait like 10 min. Me and my friend started with a maple latte which was perfect. For breakfast I got the Cobb wrap which had eggs, bacon, spinach, tomatoes, Swiss and avocado on a WW wrap. The avocado was actually perfect in it which is hard to do. IYKYK. They have big portions. I didn't care for the home fries that came with it they were pretty bland. My friend had the chorizo bowl and loved it and my other friend had a special burrata avocado toast and loved it too. This is far from me but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. It was at night on a Saturday so many of the shelves were empty but they still had a few things left. Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. Maybe even have a more even share of the red bean. COFFEE BRIOCHE LOAF - my husband liked this one! Which is good because I got it for him. This is quite good. Soft, lightly sweet with a coffee top. We ate this maybe 12 hours after and much of the top layer had "melted" and gotten on the cellophane but it was still delicious. Perfection. I definitely scraped off the coffee bits from the cellophane so it didn't go to waste. PINEAPPLE BUN W/ MILK - I grabbed this one thinking there was a filling inside and there wasn't. I don't know if the bun was placed in the wrong location or the name is telling me the bun isn't vegan but it's a good pineapple bun but without anything inside, it was a tad dry. Maybe it needs a pat of butter like they do in HK. MELON PAN - I haven't had this in a good long while so I got it for fun. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...

Overall, if you're looking for a bakery to try, this place is absolutely worth a visit. There's plenty of parking and a few tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy your treats.
