I saw the name on the map and had to check it out for lunch. I love "crazy" hot dogs and was hoping…read morefor some real interesting creations. I had one that was wrapped with bacon and topped with chili and queso which sounded better than it was. The other was a little better though I couldn't list everything on it. The dogs themselves weren't a high quality dog I'm used to like Nathan's, Sabretts, or Hebrew national. Service was great, restaurant was clean, great atmosphere, and food was very inexpensive. Worth a visit for sure.

Moncks Corner has so many fast food restaurants but today I wanted to spend my money on a local establishment That's My Dawg. I walked in, weary from a long day running events to be greeted by a guitarist, backing tracks, and 6 whooping elderly patrons. They were enjoying themselves, a little tipsy, and loud. Fortunately I wasn't looking for peace and quiet, just a quick to go order of a chili dog, sausage dog, wings, and onion rings. I shuffled my way to the counter, carrying the weight of the day only to wait 5 minute before spoken to by one of the servers. My order was placed quickly and was assured it would be out "soon." I took my seat to listen to a good guitarist with better backing tracks fighting a losing battle with the impending headache forming at the back of my skull. At the 10 minute mark I considered ordering a drink to silence my inner voice of doubt telling me I should have just gone to Chick-fil-a but surely my food would be out "soon." At the 20 minute mark, the guitarist stopped his set to take a break as I watch other patrons receive their food and drinks after I had ordered. I could only assume extra time and attention was being used for me. Perhaps they needed to grind the sausage in the back before cooking and serving it for my order. Perhaps they had to pluck all those fresh chicken wings. Maybe they were harvesting the onion in real time to deliver it to me. My orders surely not just food, but a statement of art and love too beautiful for human consumption. My excited and eagerness grew until the 30 minute mark when a different server asked if I had been helped. Was my order lost? Had I been forgotten? Maybe they weren't freshly grinding my sausage dog after all! Everything seemed to be ok because after I said I had a to go order, she never returned to give me an update. I had considered resting my eyes, which became increasingly difficult after the guitarists mandatory rendition of "Sweet Caroline" at the 45 minute mark. That's when the angel from the kitchen appeared, bag in hand. My expectations: high My anticipation: at a fever pitch My hunger: endless My reason to give my wife for taking so long: formulating I smiled and took the bag eagerly to my car to drive the 5 minutes to my house to enjoy this meal clearly crafted with an artist's hand and a mother's heart. ...the first words my wife spoke regarding her hot dawg was "weird" My sausage dog was serviceable, the wings were serviceable, the onion rings were also....serviceable. As I sat on my couch ignoring survivor, trying to enjoy the food I waited an entire set to receive, and holding back a primal scream regarding my 6am call time; a single tear fell down my cheek in my sheer disappointment and defeat from this experience. Maybe I'll go back when I'm not coming from work, and have no where to be urgently, and there isn't entertainment, and can order food in my third Jack and Coke. I really do want to try one of the great hot dogs I've been hearing about.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, welcoming staff and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and elevated--casual enough to enjoy comfortably, yet clearly driven by culinary passion and quality. The food is exceptional. The truffle short rib pizza is a standout and truly unforgettable. The short rib is tender, rich, and deeply flavorful, perfectly complemented by the earthy truffle notes without being overpowering. The crust is expertly done--crispy on the outside with just the right chew--clearly the result of skill and attention to detail. Knowing that the ingredients are made in-house only adds to the appreciation; every bite tastes intentional, fresh, and thoughtfully crafted. The cheesesteak egg rolls are another must-have. Crispy on the outside, generously filled, and bursting with savory flavor, they strike the perfect balance between comfort food and elevated appetizer. Dipping them into the spicy ketchup takes them to the next level, adding just the right amount of heat and tang to round everything out. Service truly elevates the experience. Dasha was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. She keeps recommending items and pairings which made the interaction very entertaining. Her attentiveness and making sure service was top tier was met with perfection! Meeting the owner was a highlight as well. Learning that he was trained internationally within Michelin-star restaurants explains the level of execution and creativity on the menu. That high-level training clearly translates into the food, while still maintaining an approachable, community-focused vibe. You can tell when someone loves what they do especially as a chef because you can taste it in their food. Overall, Fireside Pizza is doing something special in Moncks Corner--combining top-tier culinary technique, house-made ingredients, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Tucked away in a little corner beside the KFC, this hidden gem is so worth a revisit for the whipped ricotta and fried dough. This is easily a five-star experience and a place that deserves repeat visits. Highly recommended.

Overall, it ended up being one of those meals that was perfectly fine--nothing bad, but nothing that really wowed us either. We started with the Brussel Sprouts, which were definitely the highlight. Nicely cooked, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. We shared a Margherita pizza that was just okay--good enough, but a little forgettable compared to other spots around town. The Sicily salad was next, and if you're a salad person, you'll probably enjoy this one. It was fresh, well balanced, and one of the more satisfying dishes we tried. We also ordered the Drunk Cutlet sandwich. The flavors were there, but the cutlet itself was super thin, so it felt a little underwhelming for the size of the bread. The short rib bolognese was solid--comforting and hearty, though not something I'd rush back specifically for. All in all, Fireside is a decent neighborhood spot for a quick, easy meal. It didn't blow us away, but it's a reliable option when you want a casual bite without much fuss.
