We came for dinner and it just happened to be Flamenco night! Restaurant was very busy. But, we got extra extraordinary service, as always. We were also treated to a flamenco show in the main restaurant. The harpist was also there. There were quite a number of birthday in our anniversary celebrations. We enjoyed Cerveza from Galicia , Spain and red sangria. We both chose the prefix menu, and celebration of The Restaurant 50th anniversary. For appetizer we both had muscles prepared with vinegar and celery/pimento. It's delicious for entrées We had paella Valencia, which is a huge mountain of yellow rice, seafood, chicken and churro deliciously cooked individual pan; and stuffed fillet of sole, stuffed with crab meat and shrimp , with lobster sauce ( Laguador à la Jefe). The stuffed soul is truly stuffed with crab meat and shrimp. It's not like other restaurants or the type sold in the grocery store that is mostly bread stuffing For dessert we enjoyed the delicious flan. Staff is extraordinary and the manager Juan and his assistant Marco are the best! The entertainment transformed us to Spain for the evening, a wonderful experience! read more

We went to Marbella for their 50th anniversary prix fixe 3 course meal. The restaurant had a live harpist during dinner, which was so entertaining. The prix fixe includes a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert, all of which I believe are available on their regular menu. Bread and butter for the table was also served. The appetizers were delicious. The paella enttee is a standout. Our server plated it in front of our table for us. The rigatoni alla vodka was average. The flan tasted burnt but the raspberry cake was delicious, though the dessert portions were very small. For $35, the meal was worth the price. The service was just okay. Our server was a bit dour and slow. Overall, we would continue coming back. read more

I have to tell you the restaurant is gorgeous and the service is top notch excellent. The ambiance has a vintage kind of feel. We did not like the octopus it seemed to have been heated at a high heat which left it a bit undone inside - but everything else was top notch especially the dessert that was flambéd omg so amazing!!! Marbella has been around forever and its longevity can be credited to providing great Spanish food with a nice, warm ambiance (especially noteworthy when you consider that this is a hotel restaurant in a Best Western). I had a Paella Valenciana with lobster which was prepared "tableside" along with a garlic bread appetizer. Both were delicious and the portions were generous. My one complaint was how long it took for my garlic bread appetizer to be brought out. I had to ask the server twice where it was before it ultimately emerged. But, overall, very nice, somewhat formal, vibe and very good food. read more

We came here for a friend's birthday lunch--this Spanish restaurant has been around a long time and definitely has that old-world charm, though it could use a bit of an update. That said, the place was lively and packed, with lots of groups celebrating birthdays and graduations. The all-male waitstaff, dressed sharply in suits, were highly professional and provided attentive, courteous service throughout the meal. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The three of us shared, the mussels in green parsley sauce which were huge and plump, but they had a slight fishy taste that took away from the dish. My friend couldn't eat them after taking one bite. Me and my husband on the other hand did eat them. She chose the French onion soup--which I wouldn't typically expect at a Spanish restaurant--but since the menu also included some Italian and American dishes, it wasn't too surprising. She was happy with her choice. The seafood paella with lobster was a generous portion and had good flavor, with a nice mix of mussels, clams, shrimp, and bay scallops. They serve it tableside, which adds a nice touch, but it's cooked in the kitchen--so the tableside service is purely for presentation. Unfortunately, there was no socarrat--the crispy rice at the bottom that's usually the best part. My friend also had the paella and noticed the same thing. My husband tried the shrimp-stuffed flounder in a white wine champagne sauce--the sauce was bland and the flounder was dry. The white sangria was just okay--not terrible, but nothing memorable. They do offer tableside service if you order a full pitcher, which is a nice touch, but since we each only wanted a glass, we didn't get that experience. Overall, it was a decent experience, but with a few tweaks in the kitchen and a refresh of the space, it could really shine again. read more

The experience & the vibe is great, except for the 1 server who was inappropriate. The staff sang "happy bday" for us twice! The food can be better. We all chose dishes from the "Pre Fixe Special" which is from Tuesday Through Friday, 12pm- 6:30pm, $24.95 pp- 1 Appetizer & 1 entree. We got shrimp croquetas. I didn't taste the bechamel. There's a bit of minced shrimp in it. The amount of shrimp def should be increased. It was really dense & since it's deep fried, it felt dry w/o sauce. I can't believe it's served w/o sauce! Marinara wuda been perfect. We were given hot sauce when we asked. We also got : 1) salad 2) Pollo alla Madrid- Boneless Chicken Sautéed in Lemon & Wine Sauce 3) paella a la Valencia- Seafood, Chicken, Chorizo, Saffron rice 4) arroz con pollo-Chicken And Saffron Rice with Chorizo 5) Lenguado Al Jefe- Fillet Of Sole Stuffed with Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Sauce I only tried the latter entree. The rice had bell peppers, which was unexpected. If I'd known before, I def wuda said no bell peppers. I didn't like the sauce. The string beans on the side were very bland. I feel like the food didn't sit well with me, prolly cuz of the bell peppers. My coworker didn't like the arroz con pollo. The rice was hard, peas undercooked. She didn't like the cappuccino either. Haven't been in years (previous experience was just ok), was craving paella so gave it another try. For apps we shared the Croquettes, Empanadillas de Carne and Queso, and the fried calamari. Sadly we didn't really enjoy our apps, the calamari was ok but the rest was not to our liking. The Paella Valenciana with lobster was flavorful however the shrimps were way over cooked (practically mush), and there was sand in the clams. Lobster was a tad overcooked as well. The Lobster and seafood casserole in a lobster sauce was tasty, the shrimps were cooked better than the paella but still had sand in the clams. As for service I wouldn't say any waiters were particularly friendly but the job was done. One particular waiter would start to answer a question, before he even finished he would basically walk away and say he'll handle it, when another waiter was nearby. It was odd and a bit dismissive. I've been here a couple times and always enjoyed the paella. This time I went for the flamenco show. It was a three hour experience from 7-10pm. You get an empanada, choice of appetizer, choice of meal, and choice of dessert; all from a pre-fixed menu for $50 per person. The performers were very good and kept me entertained. read more

Came in on a Saturday night, had reservations for party of 4. Ordered the lobster bisque and escargot for appetizers, delicious, bisque had nice flavor not salty and little bit of alcohol in it. Onto dinner ordered the Chilean seabass, paella, and the veal scallopini. Firstly the portions were plentiful, the food was fresh and served well. Sangria had nice presentation made at the table and served as well. The service is excellent and there was a harpist playing while we ate. Been coming here for many years there is a reason why this place in business for 30 plus years, service is excellent, food is delicious what's more to not like. I had a great time on Friday night at our friend's birthday celebration at Marbella. The staff is wonderful, so friendly ! Marcello was very attentive and made sure we had a great time AND we always had a drink. A++ The room is very spacious and festive. The cocktail hour was great! Had a lot of my favorite bites, like seafood croquettes and tortilla espanola! Dinner was lovely, buffet with items such as pork loin, arroz con pollo and stuffed filet of sole which I really enjoyed. (if u know me, you know i dont eat fish, my hubby couldnt believe i ate this piece of sole! so good!) This is a nice neighborhood Spanish cuisine restaurant in bayside. It is located inside the best western hotel building. There was a lovely harpist playing throughout dinner time. It really set the tone in the atmosphere. The harpist played modern songs with a classic twist. We came on a Mother's Day weekend so there was a special menu of limited selections that is being served that weekend. Because of the increased in capacity and customers, they were not serving their famous flambe crepes that weekend. We were notified that they usually have the crepes available thursdays to Sundays. The seafood salad in the avocado is quite filling. Lots of good pieces of lobster meat. Tasted fresh and refreshing. The calamari was what you'd expect. It could be crispier in my opinion. It came with a tomato sauce that tastes like a hybrid of in a marinara sauce and a salsa. It was unique. The seafood paella has bits of sausage and chicken as well. One order of paella takes at least 25 minute wait so be sure to order it first. One paella probably serves about 2-3 people to be full. The chicken with shrimp brown garlic sauce was surprisingly flavorful and delicious. The chicken could have been seasoned more but the brown garlic sauce makes up for it. This entree comes with rice and vegetables on the side. I would return here mainly to try their crepes. read more

We went classic: mussels with green parsley sauce , paella, lamb shanks .... and for dessert , crepes made tableside . I cannot leave out one of the best pitchers of sangria i have ever had !!! The mussels were briny , garlicky , juicy and had the perfect bite . Paella was loaded with lobster, seafood, chicken, rice, and sausage, every component perfectly cooked ! A dish you won't quickly forget . The lamb shank was prepared in a rioja wine sauce, dark , smokey , sweet and acidic . No fork necessary as it falls off the bone . The home made sangria is served in a beautiful pitcher. It is fruity with mouth watering fruit in abundance ! The crepes were thin and warm topped with sugar .
