    Paella Valenciana con Langosta Dinner

I have to tell you the restaurant is gorgeous and the service is top notch excellent. The ambiance has a vintage kind of feel. We did not like the octopus it seemed to have been heated at a high heat which left it a bit undone inside - but everything else was top notch especially the dessert that was flambéd omg so amazing!!! My Espresso was also proper and amazing! The waiter offered to take a picture of our family as well.

We came here for a friend's birthday lunch--this Spanish restaurant has been around a long time and definitely has that old-world charm, though it could use a bit of an update. That said, the place was lively and packed, with lots of groups celebrating birthdays and graduations. The all-male waitstaff, dressed sharply in suits, were highly professional and provided attentive, courteous service throughout the meal. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The three of us shared, the mussels in green parsley sauce which were huge and plump, but they had a slight fishy taste that took away from the dish. My friend couldn't eat them after taking one bite. Me and my husband on the other hand did eat them. She chose the French onion soup--which I wouldn't typically expect at a Spanish restaurant--but since the menu also included some Italian and American dishes, it wasn't too surprising. She was happy with her choice. The seafood paella with lobster was a generous portion and had good flavor, with a nice mix of mussels, clams, shrimp, and bay scallops. They serve it tableside, which adds a nice touch, but it's cooked in the kitchen--so the tableside service is purely for presentation. Unfortunately, there was no socarrat--the crispy rice at the bottom that's usually the best part. My friend also had the paella and noticed the same thing. My husband tried the shrimp-stuffed flounder in a white wine champagne sauce--the sauce was bland and the flounder was dry. The white sangria was just okay--not terrible, but nothing memorable. They do offer tableside service if you order a full pitcher, which is a nice touch, but since we each only wanted a glass, we didn't get that experience. Overall, it was a decent experience, but with a few tweaks in the kitchen and a refresh of the space, it could really shine again.

Excellent food and very attentive service. Authentic Spanish cuisine in our neighborhood. There were live harp music in the dining room, other nights feature guitar music, flamingo dancing. A real local gem.

The experience & the vibe is great, except for the 1 server who was inappropriate. The staff sang "happy bday" for us twice! The food can be better. We all chose dishes from the "Pre Fixe Special" which is from Tuesday Through Friday, 12pm- 6:30pm, $24.95 pp- 1 Appetizer & 1 entree. We got shrimp croquetas. I didn't taste the bechamel. There's a bit of minced shrimp in it. The amount of shrimp def should be increased. It was really dense & since it's deep fried, it felt dry w/o sauce. I can't believe it's served w/o sauce! Marinara wuda been perfect. We were given hot sauce when we asked. We also got : 1) salad 2) Pollo alla Madrid- Boneless Chicken Sautéed in Lemon & Wine Sauce 3) paella a la Valencia- Seafood, Chicken, Chorizo, Saffron rice 4) arroz con pollo-Chicken And Saffron Rice with Chorizo 5) Lenguado Al Jefe- Fillet Of Sole Stuffed with Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Sauce I only tried the latter entree. The rice had bell peppers, which was unexpected. If I'd known before, I def wuda said no bell peppers. I didn't like the sauce. The string beans on the side were very bland. I feel like the food didn't sit well with me, prolly cuz of the bell peppers. My coworker didn't like the arroz con pollo. The rice was hard, peas undercooked. She didn't like the cappuccino either. The other 2 coworkers enjoyed their food.

Haven't been in years (previous experience was just ok), was craving paella so gave it another try. For apps we shared the Croquettes, Empanadillas de Carne and Queso, and the fried calamari. Sadly we didn't really enjoy our apps, the calamari was ok but the rest was not to our liking. The Paella Valenciana with lobster was flavorful however the shrimps were way over cooked (practically mush), and there was sand in the clams. Lobster was a tad overcooked as well. The Lobster and seafood casserole in a lobster sauce was tasty, the shrimps were cooked better than the paella but still had sand in the clams. As for service I wouldn't say any waiters were particularly friendly but the job was done. One particular waiter would start to answer a question, before he even finished he would basically walk away and say he'll handle it, when another waiter was nearby. It was odd and a bit dismissive. Unlikely we would return based on our below average meal and service.

Always a good time at Marbella. Authentic Spanish food from Queens with a 19726pedigree. Make sure to order the crepes. Spanish coffee is no joke too.

Saw this restaurant recommended by many on a FB restaurant group so decided to try for hubbies birthday and so glad we did! To start off there is parking! The waiter, Marcelo is amazing! The food so good and the service 10/10. We had such a nice dining experience and we all agreed we would def return. I highly recommend.

He requested a surprise birthday candle in the cake and they also put it on a plate that says happy birthday. Really nice presentation! He unfortunately didn't love their version of fra diavolo because it has a ton of peppers. Otherwise it was tasty, he just picked out most of the peppers. The seafood in it was cooked well and he said the shrimp was his favorite part. We also added extra tapas - -brussels sprouts (VERY good) -baked clams (these have stuffing with shrimp and a slice of bacon on top. We actually didn't like these, would prefer clams without a pile of stuffing).

They offer chorizo, 2 types of paella (seafood vs meat) and gazpacho. The seafood paella is my go to, and it's the best I've ever had. They do not skimp on the portion or the quality; it had shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels and scallops. It's all top quality and delicious. Price point is downright cheap, especially compared to others who gouge at the street fair (looking at you, PikNik bbq). Chorizo is also good quality, and a cheap meal unto itself. Other options at the Street Fair are good too (ie: Taqueria Poblanita nearby), however I will never stop loading up on the good stuff here.

The table we sat at was quite large, and I think it could have fit a few more people. The staff was friendly, and the lighting wasn't too dark, nor was it too loud. While I liked the atmosphere, I found the food, or rather specifically the tapas, to be not good at best, while the main dishes were better but also ranged in quality. The fact that the tapas we ordered were pretty closely priced to the mains means I would recommend the mains only based on portion and taste alone. To drink, a bunch of us split a bottle of wine from their large and pretty reasonably priced selection. The first tapas that arrived was something that I could not eat. This was the Pulpo Zarautz for $32, listed as octopus with garlic and merken seasoning served over mashed baby potatoes. The dish was small, and people thought it was OK as they found the pieces of octopus a tad chewy. They liked the spices but were surprised that the potatoes were a bit cool. The $24 Gambas Al Ajillo, with slow-cooked prawns, white wine, EVOO, garlic, and mermen, was alright. There was a handful of shrimp, and they were decently cooked, but the "ajillo," or rather, the garlic, was very light. Therefore, I found it a bit bland, which is almost never the case for this dish. I wouldn't recommend this based on price and flavor. Last and least of the tapas was the $22 Tortilla De Patatas, listed simply as a Spanish omelette. There was an option to add chorizo for $2 more, which we did. Along with the omelette, this also arrived with a few sauces and some pieces of crunchy bread, which were the highlight, as the omelette wasn't good either. The texture of the omelette was very different than any other Spanish omelette I've ever had. It was quite soft with a bit of chew, with a mild chorizo flavor. Along with the greenish color, it wasn't exactly appetizing. I wouldn't recommend this at all, but thankfully, that was the last tapas we ordered. My favorite of the main dishes was the Solomillo & Pebre for $28, listed as skirt steak topped with parsley and olive oil, with hand-cut fried potato and salad. While not the most tender, as it is a skirt steak, it was still well-flavored with the topping almost reminding me, to an extent, of a less oily version of chimichurri. The potatoes had a unique texture, being slightly crispy on the outside while remaining slightly soft in the middle. The salad on the side, which also arrived with one of our other mains, was a tasty mix and certainly more effort than a typical salad you find in many of these places. We also liked the $32 Costillas De Cerdito, with pork ribs in beer, mustard, and rosemary with hand-cut fried potato and salad. The pork ribs were flavorful, though I did find a bit of it to be a bit fatty, but some of that is expected with pork ribs. The mildly sweet and slightly rich sauce paired with the pork ribs. The same comments from before can be made about the potatoes and salad. Last was the OK Paella De Mariscos for $38, listed as rice cooked with shrimp, mussels, clams, prawns, and fresh saffron. The portion size was good, with a lot of mussels and clams in particular, and a handful of shrimp. Of the bite I had of the two large prawns, they were plump and juicy as well. However, the rice was both a bit bland and a tad mushy and felt a bit overcooked compared to many other paellas. There was some socarrat on the bottom as per usual, which was the best part. It's a bit difficult to rate this place. The spices, textures, and flavors were lacking from the overpriced tapas, and I honestly wouldn't recommend any of them. For the main dishes, they were tasty, but you can get a better-cooked skirt steak at many other places for a similar price. The ribs were decent, and the paella was just OK. If we only had the tapas, I probably would be giving this place a 1, but for the whole meal, an upper 2, rounded up.

Of note, the restaurant bar stays open longer than the kitchen so make sure you check in with them on when the kitchen closes (it was around 10 when we went but things were still in flux so that may change!)
