I have been wanting to try this restaurant and I'm glad we did! Don't let the fact that you order at the counter keep you from going for a fun dining experience. The dining room feels more like a an upscale brunch restaurant. The person who took our order - Melody - was outstanding and really started our meal off well. It's amazing what a great staff interaction can do to influence your restaurant experience. The food arrived quickly. We all loved what we ordered. My husband said it was the best omelette he's ever had. My daughter is a vegetarian but she had plenty of options. Melody recommended the half size portion of pancakes and I'm glad I got that. It was still a lot of pancake! There is a fun little drink bar where you can serve yourself. I ordered a latte and it arrived quickly with a fun little design on top. This place puts me in mind of Northstar restaurant located in Columbus, OH. I ordered the Maplewood Hash (goetta is pork, they cannot remove this item from the hash) w/ a Mimosa, my sister ordered the Vegan Power Bowl, friend ordered the Avocado Toast and side of hash brown and another person ordered the Veggie Burger. Everything was very good! So good, i went back the very next day with another group of people! I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with scrambled eggs (eggs were salt heavy), another person ordered the veggie burger and another ordered the chicken club sandwich. The service the next day was slower. The restaurant was packed and tables were not being cleaned - again we were a conference in town at the time. The way their system works is that you go to the counter to place your order, they give you a number to place on your table, and they bring everything out to you. The water and I believe basic coffee is self serve. On day 1, the line was terribly long. That's always a sign of good things to come! I had a burger that was just ok, but I loved the cold-pressed juice and shared a friend's lemon pancakes, which were amazing. I dined with 3 others and they were in LOVE with everything they had. A farm-to-table experience inside and out! All of their ingredients are fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable. We came on a Sunday morning (~11am) and it was already packed! Luckily we only waited in line to order for about 5 mins, then the line piled up. Here, you order first, then you find a seat. There are a ton of seating options for parties big and small. The whole place was roaring with noise because it was so busy. It brought such a great atmosphere! The aesthetic of the place was gorgeous with great lighting. For food, we got the lemon ricotta pancakes ($12) and avocado benedict ($11), two of their most popular brunch dishes. The benedict and pancakes were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The pancakes were super huge though! Literally the size of a frisbee, I definitely recommend sharing. Overall, the food was pretty basic and lackluster, but the vibes and service made up for it. It's like a cafeteria style/fast food restaurant--order food at the counter and if it's busy, try your luck with a table as soon as they clean it...kind of reminds me of hunger games on a busy Sunday LOL...but if you come when it's not so busy then you'll be satisfied. We were so overwhelmed and felt rushed to order and grab a seat as soon as one was emptying and cleaned...so already not a pleasing experience...Kid's drinks also come in a glass (which they should never! As it's safer to put it in plastic and/or styrofoam) My cold brew tasted more like milk than actual brew...not my preference. As for my meal, I order the avocado Benedict, bacon and hash browns sides. The hash brown(s) was the best part of my meal! Most of the bacon slices were over cooked and not enjoyable. The avocado Benedict idea is tasty but disappointing upon arrival and eating...tasteless, cold, and needed seasoning... My fiancé liked the burger but the double patties were thin so it honestly looked like one patty (I didn't even realize it was double until I asked him after reading other reviews about how great it was) and the bread was so thick, the bread to patty ratio is off, at least for us. Honestly, so many great reviews and we just don't understand why we didn't get the same experience. I got the Maplewood Hash which had goetta (pork since I don't eat meat I sub this with salmon skewers) hash browns, onion, bell pepper, local mushroom, jalapeño, corn, two cage free hard fried eggs. This dish was amazing. The only downfall is that your entire party has to be there before you can sit at your table as you pre-order your meal. It's an interesting atmosphere because it is more upscale, but you order at the counter. Our food arrived shortly after ordering. Food reviews: Chicken Tinga (3.5/5) - it's a huge portion dish! with lots of chicken meats and two cage free over easy eggs. Would appreciate if they can add more veggies in it but if you're a meat lovers, you will like it. Maplewood Burger (4/5) - Double burger with white cheddar, house pickle, greens, grilled tomato, roasted garlic aioli sauce and the bread is sesame bun!! - I love this burger as the meats and veggies ratio is balanced!! Berries Pancake (4/5) - I really want to try their pancake when I looked at the picture and glad that my friends ordered it as a sides. If you order as a sides it's smaller portions and it's $6. The food was all tasty and quality and left me satisfied and just wanting a little more a side of pancakes for the table had us all full. The options were different but they also have your standard fare. Staff is very attentive, space is clean, atmosphere is great.
