Service was not the best (maybe she had a bad day/night/week?) and MOST places are happy to get another beer but our server blamed the bartender that the beer wasn't poured. The malt was phenomenal. The server was able to share her cheat sheet so I can choose a beer. The place was a little loud to be able to have a conversation, so I wouldn't recommended if you are looking to catch up with someone. My wife and I had a $30 voucher for Maple Tavern. The place was pretty full when we walked in. Lots of TVs lined the walls, and I liked one of the touches, the jukebox also had the video of the song on a couple of the TVs. Sweet! We got a seat next to a window and I ordered a Fulton Sweet Child of Vine to start us off. Awesome beer. Hoppy, yet not crazy! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side salad and my wife ordered the veggie burger with a side salad as well. Very solid side salads for $3. Both dressings were great (Blue Cheese and Peppercorn Ranch) The sandwiches came out and they looked spectacular. I got my wife's pickle, which was really good. The chips were kettle style, they probably don't make them themselves, but they tasted like they did, so crispy and flavorful. Good for dipping in the dressings and the avocado mousse that they make for the veggie burger. The pulled pork was super juicy and the crispy onion pieces really added a nice touch. I ordered a Surly Furious to go with the lunch. A perfect complement to the meal. The flavor was just amazing, a home run! My wife let me try a bite of the veggie burger. FANTASTIC! Whenever a restaurant has a homemade veggie burger, it is usually pretty good. Maple Tavern's is no exception. She took the veggie burger and basically made her sandwich a veggie burger salad. When she finishes a meal, you know it is good. This place is good. Food is pretty good although they took away the deconstructed nachos and replaced them with a nacho microwaved mess, that sucks. The music is ALWAYS too loud! This is typically an older crowd and all that noise means you can't hear the person you are sitting next to talking. I don't know why they wouldn't be prepared on a Friday at 4 o'clock but it took us 40 minutes to be able to get a drink. My destination was Omni brewing, but I was too quick on the bicycle and got there before they opened. It was a fortunate mistake as I ended up at Maple Tavern instead. After biking many miles, I needed to replenish the salts, so an Omni beer and nachos were ordered. Let's take a look at the nachos in a little more detail for the NACHO BREAKDOWN! The nachos came out with a literal cornucopia of chips! This is a great way to keep the chips fresh and prevent them from getting soggy from all the ingredients. They were tasty tortilla chips. Now for the toppings. It came on a plate separate from the chips. It was a layer of beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions and jalapenos. All of it fresh. The cheese was real. Not the fake stuff some places give you. There was a dollop on sour cream in the center and salsa on the side. I would have to say that the only thing that can be improved upon on this nacho dish is the salsa. A little too canned and could be fresher. Overall, I would say these are some of the best nachos I've had in quite some time. They did a really good job and other restaurants should take notice; this is how to do nachos right! read more

A place I haven't been to in Osseo. Better than any of the chain places but needs a little help. Ordered the Buffalo wings while watching the Gophers game, wings like the gophers, a little weak. A buffalo wing should have some spice and tang to the but these were very sweet, to much for my liking. I have eaten here before and had a Asian wrap that was really good. Love this place before they changed their Tavern Tots recently. I would crave those tots and now they are smaller and not as tasty. Cheese sauce is the same. We also like the deconstructed nachos... always a favorite! As far as entrees, the wraps are a perfect portion to split! Kids eat free every night. Love the bar ambiance ~ dark and reminds me a bit of a pub. Come early for a seat at the bar. Service is hit or miss! I really don't like to have to ask for a drink or my check and the last visit was that case even though the bartender walked right in front of us several times. BEWARE: BEWARE: BEWARE: After spending the summer as regular patrons, we found that the wait staff was extremely slow, (20 plus minutes to get a drink to the table), the food orders were often brought out wrong, and the receipts were consistently wrong, visit after visit after visit. Check your receipts people. We often had drinks and food added to our receipts that belonged to some one else at our table. Drink orders came out wrong. We always had to double check to make sure the orders weren't messed up and one someone else's receipts. One patron at our table was charged for three meals during one visit. The card was used to pay for the other three patrons at the table, $160 total, the patrons tab should have been around $25, we had separate tickets. The manager promised to make good. Paid the patron up front for the inconvenience and said it was a gift for the trouble, He also said the funds would be returned to this individuals bank account. The funds were never returned, a claim was filed and the funds were put into the individuals account. In turn, Maple Tavern filed a claim stating permission was given to charge the card...?????, so now the money is being taken back out of the patrons account and going to back to Maple Tavern. That's dirty play! If this is how they conduct business, they just lost a whole lot of people. The word has been spread. We will never spend our time or money with them again, choose other local restaurants that treat their people with respect. Management is underhanded. They said one thing, and did another. The staff was S L O W, orders and drinks were wrong, never once saw a manager walking around. We had to double check our tabs to make sure they were right. Three different times we had to have the waitress redo ALL our tabs because she messed everything up. Charged everyone for the wrong items, added drinks to others tickets that weren't theirs. " We said no" it was all down hill from this moment. After we said no, the demeanor of her changed to we are inconvenience to them. We got seated right away at a table that was so wobbly I had to hold it so everyone could eat. I asked for water with lemon the plastic cup came with a hole in it. We went and got food, we had 5 empty plates on the table before it was cleared. A solid local restaurant with a great beer selection! Upon arrival the place has a very interesting set up, you can tell it was made into a restaurant pretty much. A couple random and oddly placed walls but nothing terrible. Service was solid but nothing that blew me away. Menu selection had a good variety but nothing that blew my mind and screamed try me! My favorite part was probably the beer selection. However you do have to read it from a changing TV screen and our server didn't assist us in our selection. Overall average. New restaurant in Maple Grove. Tried it on Sat. night. Was very pleasantly pleased. The place is in a werid location, and looks like it used to be some type of industrial building, but they did a beautiful job on the inside. It's quite large, and they have a HUGE deck, which is where we sat. The service was very friendly. The food was fantastic! The only complaint I had is that there were many smokers out on the deck, puffing in my face while I was trying to eat. I have no problem with people smoking out on the deck, but since it is so huge, they could easily have a smoking and non section out there. read more

Rhonda loves the Beer Cheese soup which she insists is homemade; I think they just get it in bags. I doubt much here is home made. We had Buffalo Wings which were not good at all...Not crunchy like I prefer, and the quantity was small for the price. Rhonda took the rest home for Basil.. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was actually pretty good. The chips that come with the sandwich were super salty and different. Not sure where the "family friendly" comment came from. We're here on Friday night, to be fair; but it was only 6:00 and the place was ear splitting loud. The dining area is extremely cramped, with loud boozy patrons all around. I assume it is the norm since the staff wasn't interested in calming the obnoxious folks down. Some good, unique burgers, but nothing worth sitting through the noise and tight quarters. If you are looking for a loud redneck bar that serves good burgers, you will like this place. Review is for their basement banquet room. The room is nice and large enough. Bartender that they provided was nice and did a good job. Big problem was the sound system. It did not work. Volume would go up and down on its own...it was unlistenable. Spoke to manager and he did nothing. After following up he promised a gift card as a gesture of good will. Who puts the Maple in Maple Grove? Apparently Maple Tavern. They have gone so far as to introduce a Maple Jalapeno Burger. Either it was going to be something good or a train wreck. Maple Tavern is a nice Sports bar in the NW metro just 1 mi S of Hwy 610. It has a lovely patio area for those warm spring afternoons. We were promptly seated and offered drinks. The draft beer menu was OK, but not up to modern standards. I passed over Alaskan IPA for a nice 25oz Guiness. Delectable. My wife ordered fish and chips and I had the aforementioned Maple Jalapeno Burger with O-rings. The food came out fresh and hot in about 15-20 mins. My wife's Fish & Chips were nice. The fish was Cod. The batter was made with summit and is a little chewy. It has a nice flavor, but the texture was a little puzzling. Overall, quite enjoyable. Malt vinegar was a nice option, but the tartar sauce is homemade. The Maple burger is a knife and fork affair unless you are prepared to get a little messy. The maple and bacon on the burger are a good match. The fresh jalapeno slices are hot but don't dominate the flavor. The meat is cooked to order and I enjoyed the flavor when cooked medium. While it wasn't a home run, the burger is nice and definitely worth trying at least once. The O-rings share the batter with the fish and chips, a little quirky but good. Service was one of the best things here. Friendly and prompt. They definitely want you to enjoy your stay. In any other city, this place would rate 4 stars. For the twin cities, I have to give it 3.5 which I rounded up to 4 (due to the service) If you need a little Maple in your life, give them a try. read more

First, let me say this in no reflection on our server, however, I do not think it is appropriate for employees that are off duty and on duty to sit on the deck drinking and smoking. The "manager" visited frequently and was basically wrapped up in his employees. The food marginal for the $$, tasteless, and not very appealing. The bar cannot even get the basic black and tan. First and last time. Our wait person Lauren gave it her best shot but when you have all of this against you...what do you expect.
