Also the table was sticky, the ketchup was empty and the salt and pepper shaker were also sticky. My daughter's order was messed up a bit. Wrong dressing applied to sandwich. My flatbread which I thought would be a flat bread not a personal pizza. It was good but I was disappointed. The owners other restaurants are very good Pour in Champlain and Ortega both lovely and excellent food. Again, when the place is deserted on a Saturday night not a good sign. read more

We were in MN to visit friends and family. We haven't been in MN for a year and so much has changed! After going to a busy place with a 45 minute wait, we searched for a hole in wall place. We found Dick's Bar & Grill. The regulars were so nice. The bartender, Brad, did a phenomenal job multitasking and was on point throughout our visit. Let's talk food. We started with cheese curds. Pretty good! Next, I had the Rueben and my hubby had the mushroom swiss burger. The portions were pretty big and the prices were a little less expensive than other places. Was craving a Dicks burger and patio time. We knew that new owners took over but according to CCX they were keeping the menu and adding options. That is not the case. Out favorite burger place is not a huge disappointment. All new staff (miss the familiar faces) we weren't asked how we wanted burgers cooked, didn't know the fries now come seasoned (not a fan) one of us ordered coleslaw and got fries. Waitress was too busy to fully listen to what we were asking for so had to wave her down as she was passing by dropping off the missed coleslaw. Burger under cooked and missing the way they once tasted. Added mushrooms were cold and from a can. Sad to have this be our last memory of this place - we do not plan on returning. read more

Dick's Bar & Grill is an older establishment in downtown Osseo. It's not frilly, fancy, or trendy, but you're going to get some good food for a good price when you come here. I love biking to Dick's in the summer and having a meal on their patio. It's got a nice small town, divey-but-not-junky feel to it. My favorite thing to get is the turkey hoagie. I have a very hard time finding a place that serves toasted sandwiches on hoagie buns anymore, and Dick's does exactly that. The cheese is perfectly melty and it's toasted just right! I also always get the Munchers as an appetizer. I've had a pizza and burgers here too, and they're definitely good. But the sandwiches really can't be beat. The one thing I wish was different was a little more variety when it comes to mixed drinks. They have a full bar but don't do things like chocolate martinis and mai tais when I've asked. If you're looking for drinks here, they've got the basics (gin & tonics, whiskey sour, rum and coke, etc.) but nothing really beyond that. There's a decent beer list for both bottles/cans and taps if you're a beer drinker and they have a few varieties of canned seltzers. Overall, Dick's has great food and a laid-back atmosphere. It's a great place to go for a no-fuss meal after work if you don't feel like cooking or enjoy a patio meal on a warm day. I've visited this downtown Osseo locals bar a few times and one thing I can say is it is always pretty consistent - not bad, not great either. The space itself isn't a "dive" but more just aged and dated with a fairly large dining area featuring a massive 7ft Hamm's Bear, Sascha, and decent sized L-shaped bar. Service is generally good and the bartenders/servers are attentive but more open and talkative with the regulars. Beer selection on tap and in bottles/cans is solid with a sea of the usual domestics as well as some local and national craft favorites. The food is mediocre. Shown in the pictures of this review is the "Real Billy Burger" which is a house specialty. 1/2 pound all beef burger topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheddar & monterrey jack cheeses, bacon and BBQ sauce. Not sure if the burger was hand pattied or just a frozen Sysco special, didn't have much flavor. BBQ sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Rays. Seems like a perfect burger for your dad or grandpa. I have also had the "homemade" pizzas which are clearly frozen but are always pretty dang good. Would definitely recommend the pizza over the burger. read more

I haven't been to Dick's for some time, and I have to admit I don't like the new menu at all or the quality of the food. The burgers have shrunk. The prices have gone up, and the french fries have some sort of coating on that is not appetizing to me. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. The mushrooms were like out of a can warmed up and dumped on the burger. Apparently the fry cook has no idea that you're supposed to actually crisp those mushrooms up to give them some flavor. The service from the wait staff was wonderful as always I don't mind paying higher prices, but I expect the quality to be the same as prior. I won't be back. read more

Went to Dicks tonight for dinner with my daughter and her family. I ordered a cup of beer cheese soup and it was horrible, so thick and too cheesy tasting, I told the waitress I couldn't eat it and thought the waitress would remove it from our bill, she didn't. Sad since the new ownership took over they don't have tater tots any longer or the 3 slider burger dinner. We wont be going back and used to be there often read more

Portions are not big, so if you are looking for a lot of food you are not at the right place. Very stereotypical midwestern bar with dated furniture, dingy interior, and lots of regulars. Dick's Bar and Grill is a fun and comfortable place to go to for both or sports viewing pleasure or family fun. A fantastic place for anyone who's wants to go out but our on a budget. When go in, you see a lot of history and pride if the town of osseo. You also get to see a big hamms bear on display. The service has always been good, they our prompt, kind, and good is provided in a reasonable time. There appetizers make for a great snack or hockey viewing experience, with my favorites being the mini tacos, mini corn dogs, and "munchers" which our cheesy filled tater tots with a little spice. It's so good!!!!!. The sandwichs our toasted, and the turkey sandwich is fantastic. There fries our crispy, and there pizza is also good. I will need to try more of the burgers next time, the mushroom Swiss burger needed a little more seasoning. Otherwise, always a great experience. read more

We went here on a recommendation from a neighbor. When you walk in, if you're not a regular, expect to be able to hear a pin drop because it goes silent and you get stared at. Service is slow and unfriendly and food is absolutely nothing to brag about. After trying this place a good solid 3-4 times with the same outcome, I can safely say we will never go back, even though we live really close by. This is an OK place, located in "downtown" Osseo. They have a nice patio area for seating (and smoking if that is your thing). The food was alright, nothing spectacular, just your standard bar fare. One member of our party asked if she could get an appletini. The waitress had to be honest and say that she wasn't sure, because they don't make very many martinis. A vodka cranberry, they could do. If you find yourself in Osseo, it probably isn't a bad place to have a drink or perhaps do some pull tabs to benefit the Osseo Fire Department. I've found a few hidden gems in Osseo - Dick's bar and grill is unquestionably one of them. If you're looking for a friendly little bar to have a drink and some bar food, Dick's won't let you down. They have daily specials on both food and drinks, and the always popular happy hours. You know what to expect - good old fashioned bar food done properly. The first time I visited Dick's I was impressed by how clean the establishment was, and that hasn't changed. Every time I'm there the staff is friendly, the drinks are cold, and the food is exactly as it should be. For those of us local to the Osseo area, the walls of Dick's are covered with very interesting historical photography that details the growth and change of the city through the years. Dick himself must have been a lover of Hamm's beer just as my own grandfather was, because they still have $1.75 Hamm's on tap, along with a giant Hamm's bear in the corner of the bar. I respect the fact that Dick's has been family owned and operated since 1956 simply because some things are best left unchanged. Dick's is just that friendly neighborhood bar you'll want to visit again and again. There's free popcorn, jukebox, pull-tabs, bar bingo, and even an original Ms. Pac man/Galaga arcade game. In warmer months, you can sit outside on the big patio with or without a big sun umbrella - your choice. Dick's catchphrase is "your attitude adjustment place", and I have to agree.
