The place was lively and it was buzzing. I got the bacon bbq deluxe burger and it was a very well done burger. Not in the meat-temperature sense but how well it was prepared. The burger was nice and medium. It was seasoned well, and the bacon was salty and the fried onions provided a nice crispy savoriness to the burger. The fries were just okay. Cozy, yet lively, restaurant in Chaska. Always a great restaurant chain to visit, especially when it is conveniently nestled in many suburban neighborhoods in MN. Wanted to try something new and was craving tacos, which customers can't go wrong with birrias. The presentation of the dish looked wonderful. All the ingredients seemed to be correct. However, I'd wish that the meat were juicier, more flavorful, and more tender; should not depend on solely the broth. I want to see the meat fall apart easily. Cheese was great and melted fine. The tortilla could be more crispier--needs that satisfying crunch. The consommé could be improved... it felt less "brothy" and more watery? Perhaps simmering it longer could help by thickening it more. More spices too? Slices of lime should also be provided as its acidity can provide a bright finish by enhancing both the dish and the flavor. read more

I stopped in because I was in the mood for a whiskey and asked the bartender what they had available. I was met with a blank stare and handed a drink menu that only listed wine and beer. Meanwhile, a server walked by wearing a shirt with "Whiskey" printed in big letters across the back -- which felt a little ironic. I gave up on the whiskey and ordered a beer and the steak bites instead. The steak bites were clearly a cheaper cut of beef and cooked to medium-well, which left them dry and chewy. Not great. The bartender then poured what was essentially a glass of foam from the Cold Snap tap. That usually means the line is warm or dirty -- neither is a good sign. He ended up dumping three or four pours before finally getting a proper glass. This place just isn't geared toward someone looking for a decent whiskey selection and a quality bite to eat. It feels more like a two-for-one Bush Light, burger-and-fries kind of spot with an inexperienced staff. If you're looking for a cheap beer and a casual hangout, it might fit the bill. If you're hoping for a solid whiskey experience, you'll likely be disappointed. read more

Do you not sleep on Willy's taco salad! We love sitting at the bar at this "hometown" bar that over the years has changed names and Willys is probably the best so far. The two for one specials are a hit! When ordering the taco salad I asked for the blackened shrimp and the portion size is great for the price with giant shrimp perfectly seasoned. I crave this salad almost weekly alone with their steak Chimichurri wrap (drool). Pricing is $13-16 for most meals. read more

I've ordered them late, I've ordered them earlier, I've ordered multiple orders multiple times. and they have ALWAYS been CONSISTENT and VERY GOOD! Made from scratch, crispy, Golden, crunchy outside, steamy tender cod inside. How good are they? I had to order them AGAIN the next night! Not only was it easy to order on their website, they had my order ready FAST. Service? Well, it was take-out, but even still, multiple staff members were eager to help me in making sure I was taken care of. From the fellow at the front, to the female server serving a table and mentioning as she was walking by "your order is almost up!" and said with a cheery smile. That service level is far less common these days. Even the bartender who I had zero interaction with was friendly in shouting out a "thanks for stopping in, have a great night!". My impression of this place is that they know how to take care of their customers, they know how to make GREAT, consistent, high-quality food, their portions are great, and their pricing is fair and reasonable. I didn't order their nachos, but I saw a mountain of a platter of what looked to be a monster premium loaded nacho platter. I also was impressed that they honored veterans with a free meal, I took a Pic! and at Willie McCoy's it will be tasty, high-quality, and served by friendly staff. Its a nice restaurant. Has lots space . Food has been always good and consistent between different times we are there. Service is quick and friendly. I tried this place out for dinner and they didn't disappoint. They have both inside and outside seating and a large bar area depending on what you want. I ordered the Parmesan grilled cheese. It was super unique but really tasty with both hot and sweet flavors. It had pepper jack and cheddar cheese with apples and bacon all melted on a Panasonic crusted sour dough bread. They also have good specials depending on what day it is. We were there on a Wednesday and they had 2 for one drinks and also taco food specials. I would have given 5 stars other than the drinks were pretty watered down and also the service was really slow. Our server was trying really hard I just think they were understaffed. read more

We had the Pot Roast Dinner, Fajita Chicken Flatbread, and the Hot Italian Sandwich Gravy can be a gamble at some places; it could be a home run or a miss. Used to love this place, but the food and service has gone downhill and the prices have gone up. May be due to Covid, not sure. I quit going here altogether. Last time I went had the beef tips which were so chewy, overcooked and tiny portions. The waitress never came back to check on me. Tried a few new menu items tonight. The Roasted Red Pepper Feta Dip was really awesome - definitely recommend! Also tried the Chimichurri Steak wrap - unfortunately, the steak was unseasoned and poorly cooked, no garlic aioli to be found. It is a new menu item so it could improve with time. I love their Parmesan crusted steak taco so I was hoping this would be a good item! Would love to see shaved steak or prime rib and some some aioli - switching out blue cheese for feta did help a little. Our server Lauren was excellent! This is a great late night dinner place, if you like sports. We live watching sports, so this is a food place to hang out and get a dinner. Wide variety on the menu, a little something for everyone. It's been a long work-week (include the weekend) and I hadn't seen my wife much in the past six days - so being "1/2 price burger night", and Willy McCoy's in Chaska being halfway between home and work - I texted my better half and asked her if she wanted to meet. She did. It was already pretty late, and the restaurant was not terribly busy. I had my wife place our order ahead of time (she got there about 10 minutes before I did). We simply made a choice off the "Burger" area of the menu. No upgrades, no appetizers, no drinks. I had the Irish Whisky Burger, and she had the Bacon BBQ Deluxe. Overall, I was pretty pleased! The food arrived in a timely fashion, the waitress was attentive without being overbearing or intrusive, and the bill (being 1/2 price burger night) was completely affordable! We both commented how the two of us stopping for McFastFood somewhere would have cost us the same (minus the soda's that we didn't order) - but how much better the burger / fries were than they would have been for the same price as the aforementioned McFastFood. We'll be keeping this in mind as a possibility again some time in the future - and that should give you some hint if it's worth trying out... read more
