On a Sunday drive my boyfriend treated me to a cheeseburger slider. It was delicious ...it came with aujus? I dipped my burger in and it was good. Lol I also had the pleasure of trying the hand cut fries. Absolutely delicious. And I'm not a fry fan....hoping to "stumble"across this establishment again. We had the St. Louis Pork Spare Ribs with Tater Tots and Texas Toast, Cheese Curds with Ranch, and Garlic Parmesan Boneless Wings These ribs had an excellent sauce and a decent amount of meat. Definitely a flavor you'd want more of, likely to be favored by fans of brisket and hearty barbecue. I mean, how do you do fried cheese wrong... they clearly don't know at Detour, because these curds didn't last a third as long as I thought they would. Crispy and pull-apart perfect, they're awesome. The wings weren't bad either, and a little blue cheese never hurts. Overall, this place makes some good grub; it is a great spot for a small group of friends. And I promise it won't take a detour to get there ;) read more

A hopping local bar with a great patio and lots of varieties of seating inside. The server was happy to take care of us, and we enjoyed their wings and some of their tap selections. Inside there was trivia going on, they also have meat raffles, outdoor music on their huge patio, and good food options. Must go back! read more

We came here for a Sunday afternoon of football and were surprised by the not only the prices, but also the quality for those prices! We got 75 cent wings which were large and juicy. It was a little overbreaded and got soggy once the sauce sat but for 75 cents definitely worth it. There were also $5 sliders (3), delicious potato skins, and good prices on draft beer. I ended up also getting a cup of chili- a very generous portion and came with a side of tortilla chips. Definitely seemed like a local joint and had a chill vibe. Service was nice and quick. The best part for me was the meat raffle! It started around noon and for $1, you got a raffle ticket that was good for 2 spins. If you won, you got to choose from a basket of raw meats. Though I didn't win, it was still a lot of fun! read more

I was in the Minneapolis area for a few days, and I like hitting the neighborhood bars/restaurants when out of town (I can eat at a stale chain place at home), and when I saw they had poker on Sunday evenings here, I decided to check it out. It's got the divey, neighborhood bar feel - but in a good way. The bartenders were extremely friendly, and one doesn't get cheated when it comes to shots and drinks, for sure. Best choice I made was the patty melt - among the best I've ever had. Watching other food dishes come out, you get big portions for a good price. Very happy I stopped in here - would be happy to return next time I'm in town for a few days, as well! read more

A couple coworkers and I found out that Detour 19 has a lunch buffet so we figured we should check it out. The buffet features a lot of items (salad, soup, pizza, wings, fries, ribs, italian sandwiches) but the food is nothing special. I guess you can't expect a miracle when eating a buffet lunch at a bar. Since we were heading back to the office for the afternoon we did not order and drinks but it appeared like they had a good bar selection plus some nice happy hour specials. A big factor in deciding where I eat, is finding a balance between value and quality of food, the Detour definitely falls towards the value side. However this is not to say that the Detour does not provide an excellent dining experience, rather the Detour has found a happy medium between the two. The Detour 19, with its fair prices, delicious meals and friendly service is a fantastic place to enjoy a family dinner. The Detour truly shines in providing low prices for their food. The average cost for a burger is only about 7 dollars, which when compared to larger chain restaurants is a very good value. They also have different specials everyday of the week, my favorite is dollar taco Tuesdays, where they have tacos for a dollar a piece. Another great value is their lunch buffet every week day, which consists of pizza, soup and salads, and on occasion wings and other appetizers. In relation to its good prices, the Detour has a large array of meals. Which range anywhere from your typical burger or buffalo wings, to a more elaborate plate like crab legs or barbecued ribs. They serve all three meals of the day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their breakfast menu is my favorite, with especially good prices, around 5 dollars, while still having more than enough food to fill up the average person; your options range from bacon and eggs, or an omelet, plus much more. Their lunch and dinner menu are equally as good as the breakfast menu. I personally enjoy their buffalo wings which are great; they also have salads, chicken sandwiches, burgers, ribs, soups, pizza, and a range of different dinner plates and appetizers. Of the many different options for your meal, one where they truly standout, is their delicious homemade pizza; where you have unique options like the Hawaiian with Canadian bacon and pineapple, or the BBQ chicken, with BBQ sauce, chicken and bacon. Or if you're not the adventurous type you can cTheustom order your own pizza with your choice of traditional pizza toppings. In my experiences, the Detour has always had great service. The servers have always been friendly, and often even remember what kind of food and drinks I like. Its building also helps build the small town atmosphere of the Detour. The building has a cozy small town feel, with multiple seating areas, and plenty of booths and tables for many people. While I always enjoy my time at the Detour, there are a few things that need work. The condition of its restroom facilities leaves much to be desired. They are aging badly and are often in need of cleaning. Another thing is the difficulty in finding available parking. While it is easy to find parking during slow hours, during the dinner rush their small parking lot is often completely full and cars must parallel park on the very busy county road. The Detour 19 overall is a very nice place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Its good values make it a quite affordable place to eat. The large variety of delicious meals adds to its value. And the extremely friendly service and small town atmosphere continue to make it a desirable dining establishment. Overall, the Detour is a great place, and my favorite place to eat in Loretto. read more

A great place to get together with your family and friends. A lot of regulars come by. It is a great bar with great food. I ordered several drinks and shots and taco salad with my girl friends. The food was great. It is definetly one of those places where you bring the crew and spend a few hours there easily. read more

I go here often. It's not loud; it's easy, casual, and friendly. Great small-town family friendly restaurant & nice hometown bar with a couple of tvs to watch the game. Love the meat raffle, good happy hour. Nice beer selection with the basics (e.g. bud, michelob), not-so-basics (e.g. linies, nordeast), and the occasional seasonal. Ok ribs. I particularly like their dry rub wings (very lightly breaded and fried), but their sauces are good too. The green bean appetizer is really good, and weirdly healthy feeling for an appetizer. Tip your waitresses--they're all wonderful people. read more

Really really bad service for new customers. Relies on local family and friends for sales. Locally owned and lots of politics. Great if you want to go, get drunk and don't care about service. Otherwise, loud, annoying, incredibly bad service and food not good enough to make up for it. read more

I visited with a friend today and burger was awesome. The fries were ok. Kinda soggy. TERRIBLE service. We sat at a table, some guy gave us a menu and then we were left there for at least 20 mins and had to get up and place our order at the bar. We were never asked for refills, we had to get up and ask for those also. We were pretty much ignored the entire time. read more
