I ordered a BLT which you would think should look a little well presented. It looked like something a six year old would put together. Two thirds of the sandwich was outside the bread. The bread was quite small and unappealing. No wheelchair access. My friend & the server had to maneuver my scooter into the place via the backdoor and then with difficulty. The server was friendly, but that didn't make up for the sandwich and difficult entrance. Will not be back. read more

The perfect country bar for locals to meet for a burger and beer. It's not on the main road so many would not know the place is even there. Bar food for sure but it is fast and tasty. There are many burger options and crinkle cut fries to boot! 1919 root beer on tap has my kids loving this place, along with pinball and a pool table. It's worth the stop if you are feeling like a burger and fries. It's not a big place. It's not a fancy place. But, the service is good and the people are friendly. read more

I've seen the simple black and white sign from the interstate several times and always wanted to stop by. The sign is so simple that it makes you want to check it out. There doesn't need to be elaborate advertising for it to be great food. I love a good burger and heard this is the place to go. Got the battered mushrooms which were pretty good. The ranch was watered down though. The mushroom and Swiss burger was made fresh and the toppings were tasty. The fries were pretty tasty too. Had the home made chili as a starter and it was good but not great. Too much meat for me and not enough beans if at all. I'd definitely come back. The service was great too. Very friendly. It's a hidden spot off the highway that's worth a stop and then some. read more

Boy... We love your bar and grill, but... You really need a few adults to oversee the place. I felt so sorry for the two young girls that were trying to take care of the customers. You had a group at the bar that was loud, obnoxious, swearing and heavily intoxicated. I almost got up and left. The older guy watching the bar just kept them going. Shots. Swearing. It was ridiculous. It took an hour for my burger to arrive and I couldn't eat it fast enough. The bar scene was terrible. I may not give you guys a second chance. Great bar food in an out of the way location. Came in for lunch on a Saturday at about 1. Only a few people in the place and our group of 10 were seated right away. They have several "Best Burger" awards and their menu is mostly burgers, sandwiches and pizza. Prices are reasonable with a bacon cheeseburger and fry basket being about $7. A double bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato was juicy and beefy. Fries are thicker cut and needed a little salt or other seasoning. Others in our group ordered a really delicious western burger that had crispy onions and BBQ sauce, chicken strips and a couple taco salads. Everyone said the food was great! One thing I found odd was the lack of a burger basket on the kid's menu. Good service too. Definitely a decent place! read more

I started in on the pull tabs ... Few minutes later her friend walks in and sits down puts money in the same jar, pulls a $100 and a 204$ ... As she watched me go in quite a few times before hand... Then she proceeds to sit on the two winners.. And buys more.... And only puts back the 2$ winners... I want to know on if she wants of told the service man behind the counter and he said it out loud... 4/24/18. Long day at work very much looking forward to relaxing and meeting a friend for a beer & a burger basket. Walked in to a 1/2 empty dining room, there was a large group of about 25 people drinking pitchers of beer. Sat down and server asked if we were going to be eating the "all you can eat taco bar" and we said we preferred burgers. Server took our drink order and we asked for water for the moment. Waters arrived and the server was nonexistent for close to 15 minutes. As the servers walked by on three different occasions I hollered out "excuse me" trying get their attention. After 20 minutes of attempting to place an order we had seen enough and we left. As we walked out the server behind the bar thanked us for coming, what a disappointment. Bad service and inconsistency is really aggravating. read more

I grew up in St. Michael in the 80's when it was still a small German town of less than 3,000 people. I make the trek back to load up on Dehmer's meats every so often and make sure to stop into Millside. This gem still has all the nostalgia of old St. Michael being right on the beautiful Crow river next to the original mill. Their double mushroom/swiss burger basket, ice cold Grain Belts and pull tabs are the perfect retreat from the cities. Great service, food and atmosphere make this place definite favorite. read more

Friday night the atmosphere was alright. Seat your self not a good idea considering how busy they were. A host could have helped ease the wait time we encountered. Waited 7 minutes for server to stop buy ordered 2 beers and a malt, 6 minutes later we received 2 warm beers. 4 minutes later a watery warm butterscotch shake with no butterscotch flavor. Server came back to take order but went to a table that was seated after us and they let her know that we were waiting first. Ordered fried pickles and 3 burgers. Pickles went to the wrong table the one next to us then went back to the kitchen. 3 minutes later they came back to us, over cooked and falling apart the flavor in the batter was good to bad they were way over cooked. A table came in 19 minutes after us and some how received there food be fore us, keep in mind the table next to us still has not been acknowledged and have now started to wave a server down. Our burgers finally Arrive well done over cooked in butter with no seasoning I believe they are 1/8 pound flattened with a 5 pound brick to take out any flavor the beef had. Egg on burger was burnt and rubbery, the bacon was so thin you can read through it. The soup was 2 day old. How do I know is because it had flavor At the beginning but since it did not sell they kept adding water to it, by the time we had it it was worse then ramen noodles. If they would hire more staff and explain how their burgers are prepared it would have changed my perspective considerably I will go back on a slower day and try again, now that I know what to expect I can order accordingly. read more

We have been to Millside multiple times and enjoy their burgers. However, the service is declining. The last time we went, it was loud and the waitress did not hear one of the orders correctly. We ordered chicken wings and got chicken tenders. The lady serving apologized and said she would bring out of correct wings. Our waitress came back (who is also the bartender) and we told her what happened. She was upset and said we said tenders and said she will update the bill. When we got the bill, the update was adding both items. That was the last time we will ever eat there. read more

I've been here three times. First time, had great service from a regular bartender and the spicy burger (one of their signature burgers) was merely "ok." Second time, had mediocre service from a young woman and decent chicken wings. Not standout, but decent. Third time, I had good service from an older server and tried the same old plain spicy burger. I hoped that I was having an off day. This is a "nice" family joint, and convenient food. Nothing special or standout. The only cool factor is its history. read more

Really, really disappointed. Service was very slow, beer was warm, butterscotch shake was melted and watery, chicken noodle soup had zero flavor. The burgers were ok, but over cooked. Willing to give another try, but they need to add staff and work on improving their food. Waitress asked if our food was "good", or "fabulous".
