We visited over the weekend for brunch and made a reservation a few days ahead of time. The place was relatively busy but parking was still plentiful (we drive by often and see it packed to the point of parking on the street nearby). The spicy green beans had a nice snap to them and the sauce was well balanced. I was happy to see the fried pickles were spheres instead of spears so they were easy to eat. The wagyu sliders were flavorful, juicy, and the toppings paired nicely. The waffle fries and seasoned sour cream are a must when visiting Maynard's. read more

Grabbed lunch here on a chilly afternoon. I've been to the other location but didn't eat inside. The menu was decently sized with many options I ordered a cheeseburger but swapped the beef for impossible burger. I'm always scared when I try Impossible because I don't like super thick patty's. The patty was thick but the flavor was decent, so that helped. Food overall was decent. I'd go back to explore more of the menu. I forgot to take pics of the food but I did get a drink (don't remember the name of it) but it was good. Very much sports bar vibes, with lots of TV's. Black and bleu burger - 4/5 Very good. Lots of bleu cheese. Burgers are grilled, which gives nice flavor. Very solid burger. Clubhouse sandwich 4/5 Solid sandwich. Not the traditional 3 layer version but still good. Could have used a little more mayo. Pastrami reuben - 3/5 Pastrami was good but could have used more saukerkraut. Overall a good experience. Ambience is the only missing piece here. We were sitting at the front door side of the fireplace in the dining room. A waitress station not too far away. Anytime they pulled this glass tray out it squeaked like finger nails over a chalk board. Over and over and over again. Did I mention over and over. We spoke to the waitress she said, that she guesses they have just got use to it. Meaning to me this has been going on for awhile!! WTF, it hurt my ears and the person we were having a business engagement with too. Why it hasn't been addressed or fixed is beyond me, but this is the slipping of standards that starts the eventual slide of a up until now an EXCELLENT brand. This is why I am so upset about it. Poor service. I just walked in to the Rogers, MN location to grab some quick lunch. The bartender walked out of the bar area (I'm sure he had a good reason). When he came back, a guy walked up and sat in a seat to my right. The bartender seemingly knew the patron, asked him what he wanted to eat and drink, suggested waffle fries, etc. The bartender entered the patrons order and walked over to others at the bar. I don't know how we keep it ending up this place other than my mother-in-law when she flies in. But nothing really has flavor. It's kind of like when you go over to your in-laws house and they don't really know how to cook so everything is just kind of the same mellow tone or maybe a Perkins. Nothing's impressed me. Ventured here the Tuesday after Christmas thinking it wouldn't be crazy busy. We were wrong! It was packed and the lot was full / people waiting for tables. I went with 2 friends and we only waiting 5-10 min for a "first available" table. Other options were bar or dining room. It was pretty loud in the dining room, but the booths were comfortable and it was aesthetically pleasing to look at. I don't think I had ever been here before. Both my friends had. We started with cheese curds and waffle fries. The cheese curds were for sure to my liking. They were served with marinara and they had the right amount of breading. The waffle fries were good, but the seasoned sour cream didn't have that much taste. The fries were more seasoned. Drinks: they had a decent speciality cocktail menu. A wide variety of mules made with gin/ bourbon/ flavored vodka. Entrees: I got the buffalo chicken wrap and subbed coleslaw since we ate the waffle fries for an app. I really liked the wrap. It had fresh blue cheese crumbles and mild buffalo sauce. I disliked the coleslaw. I don't know what that flavor was, but I do not recommend. Overall, an ok spot to meet with friends or family. Very nice service and food here. I didn't want to fall asleep during the movie, so I opted for the Lunch Combo of 1/2 sandwich & house salad. The Chicken Salad Sandwich was spectacular, but the house salad was boring with iceberg lettuce although the did add other goodies (black olives, cheese, onion, tomato). The Walleye Sandwich was wonderful: freshly fried walleye in a long bun. We opted for the "Carrot Cake - For Sharing"...it was fresh, moist and great carrot cake! Worthy of sharing! read more

I'd been hearing about Maynard's on Instagram all of last summer and I wanted to check it out myself. My bf is from Rogers and said it's a local spot, like an upscale Applebee's. (Am I allowed to say that? lol) I was pleasantly surprised!! We sat inside but I would've preferred the patio (string lights & bean bag toss). Our service was adequate. The cocktail menu is limited and mostly features vodka drinks. Still, I enjoyed both the bourbon mule and the strawberry lemonade I ordered! I would order both again. The cocktail prices were super reasonable! Food: -French Onion Soup (okay, but I wouldn't order it again because I've had better for similar price elsewhere, lacking in flavor, but good amount of cheese) -Tillamook Burger (great!! Good flavor and I would order again) We ordered two entrees, four drinks, and the bowl of soup, which amount to $80 with tip. I think for the price, it's definitely four stars and worth going. The inside of this restaurant is very pretty. We had a very sweet server who took good care of us. The food was definitely above average. We had the walleye sandwich and the Buffalo chicken strips both with waffle fries. The waffle fries were perfectly crispy and the walleye sandwich felt like a better put-together Filet-O-Fish sandwich. It was delicious though the fish could've been just a bit crispier. I didn't get a picture of the Buffalo chicken strips but they were just okay. Very thin chicken with good breading on it but just kind of bland and dry even with the Buffalo sauce. Met up with a long time friend for lunch today. As soon as I pulled up, I recognized the place from a visit several years ago, where my wife and I took my aunt and uncle out for lunch. It was their recommendation; and as I recall, we had a pretty good meal. Today was a little different, with no aunt and uncle, bur we both ordered from the light meal option, each having a turkey and cheese with a salad. I wanted Thousand Island dressing, but unfortunately they didn't have. Were they just out? Maybe, but TI dressing is pretty popular so not stocking it is disappointing. My friend had lemon aid and I asked for a Sam Adams. Didn't have the famous Boston Lager, and offered Sam Adams Summer Shanty. Nope, not for me, so I checked the menu and ordered a Guinness on tap. Food was very good as was the service. Not having Thousand Island and Sam Adams Boston Lager prevented a five star rating. read more

5 stars for the portion sizing, atmosphere, parking lot, noise level. 4 stars for the staff - friendly but tended to forget about us in between ordering and eating. At first when I looked at the menu the prices intimidated me. I was thinking it would be mediocre food and small portions by I was proven wrong!! This might be the best buffalo chicken wrap I've ever had. I felt like I ate 12 boneless wings in one wrap. Plenty on the chicken, light on the cheese sweet and lettuce which is how it should be. My mom got the Cuban and my grandma got the jimmy burger. All of us took home half the meal as leftovers. YUM! Highly recommend it here. Sat in the bar area to watch NFL playoffs - TV's everywhere which is great so everyone at your table has a view. Bloody Mary is average, could use a little spice or something else to add flavor. Buffalo wings were really solid and would order again. Didn't try the Sezchuan, but that's a flavor you don't see offered often and would want to try next time. I asked the hotel for a recommendation on "where the locals eat" and this is what they came up with. Nice athmosphere, inside a bar area and restaurant and outside a bar area and cornhole. Service was fast and friendly; the cajun chicken fettucine alfredo was good but I didn't actually taste any Cajun. I really am sad to give one star and sliding to what was once my favorite local dining destination. Maynards seem incapable of regaining their pre-pandemic glory. While I understand costs are up and portions sometimes have to be reduced to make a profit, Maynard's have managed to take things too far. For example, I ordered their Beef Nachos, simple right? There may have been one teaspoon of ground beef on a mountain of cheese on the entire plate. Very disappointing. Despite the convenience of Maynards I will need to find another go to place that is fair with their value. Maybe I am in the minority here but, I really don't mind paying more for the old portions. read more

We had a long stay in Rogers, saw some movies and wanted to grab a bite after to see what they have here in Rogers. This place is definitely worth the ride here, the burger, salmon and THOSE waffle fries OH MY! The best waffle fries we've ever had, better than Chick-fil-a for sure!! Without a doubt the best food we've had. It was so delicious and tasty we want to come back here immediately! The environment was so nice and even the outside was cool, the people there were definitely enjoying a nice night off with their friends, having some drinks and bar food. Out waiter who was male unfortunately didn't get his name was happy and helpful with getting things to us as soon as possible. He was helpful with the drink choices and letting us know when the kitchen was going to close. They are open till midnight but stop orders at 10, and drinks and 11:30 if i remember correctly. After trying the Maynard's in Excelsior I thought it would be fun to try the family extension in Rogers. Happy Hour is a busy time to bring a family of five but that's what we did. There wasn't seating in the bar so we sat in the dining area and started with drinks. Moscow Mike and Martinis and good old fashioned lemonade for the kids. We ordered firecrackers wings as an appetizer, the sauce is out of this world. If you are looking for the lighter side salads or lettuce wraps are great and their burgers especially the hickory western bacon is a good burger. Definitely add waffle fries with the seasoned sour cream a MN staple. My littles loved the chicken strips which gives this place bonus points! Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday (4ish). Surprised how busy it was. No trouble getting a table but it was probably 3/4 full and there was a line at 5:15 when we left. My wife got a Cobb salad with chicken, I got the fish and chips and we both got a beer from their very decent beer list. The only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is the fries to fish ratio was way too heavily weighted on the fries side. The fish I got was delicious, I just wish I got 1 or 2 more pieces, I'd pay a few more $s if that is what it took. My wife's salad was very tasty and bountiful, she ended up sharing a quarter of it with me. We will be back again to try other menu items read more

Have been to the excelsior location before but this is the first for Rogers - food was the same as the other location and just what I remembered it being - good but not great. Portion sizes are awesome and the fries with the seasoned sour cream were awesome, but the Cabo Steak Wrap I had ordered was just fine. Not something I would order again - a lot of rice and not much of other ingredients on the inside. Our table ordered the green beans as well which were better than I what I expected. For bar food, this place was good, but don't think I would go out of my way to come back for a meal. read more
