Went there this past week for lunch and we had the Brisket melt, bacon cheeseburger and Brisket platter. The melt was awesome however the brisket platter was a little dry and the flavor was just ok however it was very tender. Cheeseburger was great. For sides we had the Mac and cheese, Chipotle potato salad, sweet potato fries, brussel sprouts and regular fries. All were good except the sweet potato fries which were fried to hard and we sent then back and they prepared another batch which were just great. read more

I was dropping off a family member at Love Field and I was looking for brunch that was close by. This place had great reviews and I thought since it was so close, why not? I had the pork belly goat cheese omelette that was on their brunch menu and it was phenomenal. The open garage doors give it an inside outside feel even at the bar. I was there by myself and found that the community space at the bar was friendly and welcoming. I often times complain about the lack of great places to eat in certain parts of the metroplex. This is a great spot and the reviews are very accurate from other patrons. Also, I drive a large vehicle, and I found parking to be extremely accommodating for being in the city. This was the first BBQ place I tried on my trip to Dallas and I feel like every other place was playing catch-up. I got a three meat combo with brisket, sausage, and turkey and chased it with a sweet tea. This feels like it's the BBQ starter pack. Stopped by this gem for lunch before heading to the airport. There's ample patio seating and depending on the weather, they'll open the garage style doors for an even better ambiance if you're sitting at the bar. The Silver Bowl "The Classic" salad was interesting, but tasty. It's marketed with spicy chicken but it tasted more teriyaki in flavor with no spice. Service is a bit slow but friendly. It's a laid back atmosphere, with a fun airplane and bourbon theme, and there's a heated patio if you don't want the music or the crowd. We ordered the brisket and sausage plate (me) and an avocado burger (the husband). We also appreciated the chance to try a bourbon we hadn't purchased yet (Weller 12 year is lovely, by the way). The food was just greasy and filling and just what my marathon runner needed after a race. Now for the negatives. We were overcharged for the bourbon by almost $10, and the manager resisted when we pointed out the menu price. The BBQ sauce is rather forgettable, and the brisket and sausage plate comes with a small serving of brisket, but the flavor is very good. The bacon +avocado burger needed a dash of salt. I was in the Dallas area for work and this was my favorite place we ate at. I absolutely love the set up with the open dining area, the decor is great. The staff is great, I think our server was named "Eric" (I hope I remembered that correctly) as he was awesome. He gave us great tips for selections and he was absolutely correct. But we had an out-of-town friend visiting, who used to live in Dallas, and this was a place she had enjoyed and wanted to go back. The space is cool, with a variety of "vignette" style areas to choose from. 3 of us arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday evening and there were only about 4 tables with customers, though there may have been more in the back. We seemed to arrive during a shift change as there were few staff and no one seemed to know what to do. We joined our 4th member, who was already at the bar with a water. The manager (?) or perhaps the bartender told us to sit anywhere. We chose to sit at the transition between the indoor space and the patio, which was lovely. The patio set-up is quite clever, with temporary, tent-like partial walls that can be added or removed to act as wind-breaks, offering the perfect balance from the elements. The same man took our drink orders, 3 maple old-fashioneds and an Oak Cliff hefeweizen for me. It's important to know that I was really looking forward to that here, as when I worked downtown I loved the Oak Cliff brewery and that specific beer, but haven't had it in years since I switched jobs. Topped with caramalized bananas, nothing needed syrup. Best of all was the service. Every aspect of this experience was 6 star. Yelp has kind of spoiled me. Business took me to Texas recently. I don't have cowboy boots or even a large belt buckle, but what I do have is a love of barbecue, especially when you're talking about brisket! I went to Maple Landing based on Yelp reviews and also because it was a relatively close walk from my hotel. While the bourbon and beer selection is large and varied, I was here on business so settled for some iced tea. I asked the bartender what she would order if she was only going to eat here once, and she quickly turned me over to Joe the manager. Both were super friendly and after a conversation about, what else, brisket, I went with the brisket sausage plate in order to get a taste of several items. Thanks for the recommendation Joe! The sausage was good. A nice snap to the casing and a smoky flavor that wasn't overbearing. The Brussel sprouts are a winner. Finished in some type of balsamic glaze they were not over cooked and had a good almost vinegary flavor that worked well with the veggie. The sweet potato fries were fine. Could have perhaps been a touch longer in the oil to fry but that's just being nit-picky. The true star? The brisket. Moist, flavorful. . . briskety? It was really, really good. There's something about brisket in Texas that just cannot be replicated anywhere else. And Maple Landing does it right. To be honest my experience is more of a 3.5 out of 5, but I decided to round up. I visited on Sunday during brunch, im we were a group if 5 in total with a small toddler. This place does seem popular during brunch, there were several tables occupied when we got there. The service was not great, although our waiter was nice. We waited quite a while to receive our order & when we did it didn't come out exactly right. One of the orders did not arrive at all, my fries were cold (it was exchanged without hesitation once I brought it to the waiter's attention) and my friend ordered a coleslaw slide but received fries instead. My mocktail (not pictured) was also pretty good, it was a a twist on a strawberry mojito.
