I've had massages a few times in my life and have always left with something of a "meh" feeling. Often I didn't feel like my feedback was taken (beyond just regarding pressure) and I didn't feel like it was addressing my own therapeutic needs. All that changed with Mantis. I didn't have a therapist preference and was matched up to Monica based on scheduling. She did an amazing job at doing exactly what I asked while also showing me what was possible with more involved body work. She immediately addressed several pain areas and began working with them to improve the feeling in my head, neck, shoulders, back, and arms. She even ended by showing my several stretches I could be doing on my own. It was a wonderful experience and I plan to return in a couple of weeks for deeper work. I have had many many massages and this one was the absolute best! I worked with Laura who is so warm and instantly made me feel comfortable. It was my birthday so I decided to treat myself and get a 90 minute massage. Laura practiced the perfect combination of pressure and control, and gave each muscle equal amount of attention. I could literally feel the tension pouring out of my muscles and felt as if I was melting into the massage table. She also provided an amazing music selection that added to my ability to fully relax. It was so relaxing and I felt SO much better. After the session she gave me several very helpful tips on exercises to reduce the amount of tension on certain muscles. From the tea and origami in the waiting room to the massage itself, I am 100% satisfied and happy with my experience at Mantis. I came here for some rest and relaxation and got a (60) minute massage. I had Becky as my massage therapist, and she was great. Pros: Clean environment, nice lighting, great massage, did the full hour, hot tea, Becky was clean and very relaxing. Cons: The music wasn't zen or waves crashing relaxing music, it was some sort of folky music. and the Price! It came out to be $85 and that was with a $5 off new client coupon! It would be $78 for a 60 minute massage! That is really expensive on this side of Austin. Another con, was that they have a "suggested" tip sign by the register. The "suggested" tip is $15 on a (60) minute massage. Um excuse me, but $15 on an already $78 for (60) minute massage is OUTRAGEOUS! My usual place charges $45 for a 60 minute massage, and does a pretty good job. So without my $5 off special and with the suggested tip it would have came out to be $93 for a freakin' 60 minute massage. Just crazy. When I told her I was giving a $12 tip she kind of looked at me like I was cheap. Lady.. I don't think so. You have to had to give me a way longer massage for such a large tip. They also charge extra for an "advance therapist." ALOT more. So for a 60 minute massage with an advanced therapist you'll be paying in excess of $100 for a 60 minute massage. Egregious and presumptuous. Never again. read more

I've gotten an awesome massage from all 4 current therapists at Mantis (Laura, Kyra, Sarah, and Melissa). You can't go wrong with any of them. Melissa was the perfect combination of relaxation and therapy. I scheduled my massage at mantis , based on yelp reviews, after suffering for 3 days from a pulled or strained muscle. I was in so much pain that I wasn't sleeping at night. Ash was my massage therapist, and it was hands down the best massage I have ever had ( I have been getting a massage for 13 years, usally every 3 months but haven't found a place since moving here in 2010). I have finally found my place! I left with my soreness 95% gone, and I slept last night for the 1st time in 3 days!! So glad I found this place when I did!! read more

I have had dozens upon dozens of massages in my life across the country - from Seattle to Miami, and many cities in between. Chelsea, by far, is the best masseuse I have ever encountered. Her technique is flawless. The pressure she applies is perfect, and she is very quick to adjust if she notices tension in your back and shoulders. I've had about 8 massages now with 5 different therapists at Mantis so I thought it's time to write a review. I usually have to work for months to find someone I like and book them weeks in advance. This is not the case here. I can look at the times I want to go and see who is available and know that I will have a great experience. While all of the therapists are definitely different, they all are very good. I like that they had a thanksgiving special where you could buy multiple massages and get a discount of $18 off each one. $78 is too high for me but with the multiple package offer, I can afford to come here. Recently they started emailing people when they are slower and offering a discount. I hope they continue to do that as I think that's a great idea that I'd love to take advantage of as soon as my package runs out so I can continue going. 8 wonderful massages and 8 more to go on my package! I've been using Kyra as my massage therapist for about 2 1/2 years now. I've been getting massages for much longer then that. I travel extensively for work and I'm on the road about 5-6 months out of the year. Needles to say sitting on planes for hours on end and sleeping in numerous different beds are not the best for my back, neck, and shoulders. I've visited numerous resorts around the world for work and for vacation, and have had memberships to the usual chain massage establishments. I can safely say without a doubt that Kyra is the BEST! I usually go once a month sometimes more when I've actually pulled something and she has helped me recover every time.
