I recently had the pleasure of receiving a massage from Sandra at the airport location, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. To my individual needs and preferences. From the moment I walked into Mantis 's serene and welcoming studio, I felt instantly at ease. The environment was clean and relaxing, creating a perfect atmosphere for a massage. Sandra took the time to understand my specific needs and areas of tension ensuring that the massage was tailored precisely to my needs. During the session, Sandra's technique was spot on. Sandra applied the perfect amount of pressure and her intuitive touch found and relieved knots I didn't know I had. The combination of different massage modalities demonstrated her extensive knowledge and experience in the field. What truly sets Sandra apart is genuine care and passion for this work. Sandra created a safe and nurturing space, allowing me to completely relax and unwind. By the end of the session, I felt rejuvenated, refreshed, and significantly less stressed. I highly recommend Sandra and Mantis to anyone seeking a top-notch massage therapy experience. Sandra is a true professional, and I am already looking forward to my next appointment. Thank you, Sandra for your exceptional service and for making such a positive impact on my well-being! read more

I cannot say enough incredible things about my experience at Mantis Massage on Airport Boulevard. From the moment I walked in, everything felt intentional, professional, and focused on real healing--but what truly made this visit exceptional was Abbey. Abbey was absolutely phenomenal. This was hands down one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever received. She didn't just go through the motions--she took the time to understand exactly where I was experiencing pain and worked through each area with a level of precision, care, and expertise that honestly exceeded all expectations. I came in dealing with significant upper back tension, and Abbey went above and beyond to not only address the pain but actually make a noticeable difference. Her technique, pressure control, and ability to find and release deep muscle knots were next-level. At no point did I feel rushed--she was fully present, intentional, and clearly passionate about what she does. If you are experiencing back pain or any kind of muscular tension, I genuinely believe there are no better options than seeing Abbey at Mantis Massage. This wasn't just a massage--it was real therapeutic work that made an immediate impact. I will absolutely be coming back, and I cannot recommend Abbey highly enough. Truly outstanding experience. read more

Melissa and Kyra have worked wonders for me. I first came in to Mantis after healing up from a sarcoma tumor that was removed from my leg (after 2 surgeries and radiation treatment). I had been to physical therapy, which helped for the immediate recovery. My overall strength began to come back and movement slowly got easier. Once physical therapy ended, it was recommended that i see a massage therapist for long-term maintenance. When I first came in, the muscles were atrophied, the range of motion in my leg was still very limited and the scar tissue was super-sensitive. The first time a came in, Kyra was very kind and knowledgable about how to treat my situation. I could tell by the great energy in the room, the music being played and the healing quality of the treatment that I would be coming back as long as they keep the doors open. I have been seeing both Kyra and Melissa for close to year and since then, my scar tissue sensitivity has decreased greatly. Bending my leg forward and back is now done with ease and my muscles are as built up as they can be. I can't say enough about the great things that Melissa and Kyra have done for me. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a great massage by wonderful people, look no further than Mantis Massage, read more

Its been a bit over a year since my last massage (in another city). I recently started working as a mechanic, and have been bicycling to work, so am now using a lot of muscles that haven't been used much lately! My massage was with Abby, who spent a few minutes asking questions before we got started, where I explained the mechanic job and biking. I had a 90 minute massage, because I've found 60 was just not enough time. By the end, Abby mentioned in my case, 120 minutes would have been a better choice for the next visit, and I totally agreed! I'm already booked for my next appointment with Abby, in a few weeks. Her knowledge of how the muscles work together, and how to get them to release, as well as her touch, use of appropriate pressure, and keeping me informed as she found trouble areas was fantastic. She also explained some things I could do on my own, between visits. The whole experience was awesome, the atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable, easy location to get to (even on a good bus route, with stops right outside!) I'll definitely be going back, often! read more

I've had several massages with Laura after a car accident injured my neck last fall. She is focused and serious about her work, and I've gotten much more relief from her than I have from other massage therapists at pricier places around Austin. She always provides a great high-pressure deep tissue massage, releasing pain at persistent trigger points, and she gives good suggestions on how to reduce pain at home. She has an intuitive sense of when to dig deeper and when to ease off pressure. Laura has also helped me track the progress of my recovery--even though I only see her every couple of weeks, she remembers what injuries I'm struggling with and lets me know which areas feel more or less inflamed than before. I appreciate Mantis's easy booking process and low prices. I also appreciate the simplicity of their location--no lobby full of expensive products for sale, just massage rooms and a waiting area. Can't recommend them highly enough! read more

This is my first Yelp review. In fact, I just created an account solely for the purpose of writing this review. Anyway. MONICA. I just had a 60 minute massage from her, after a month of pretty severe back pain caused by a mishap on the golf course. Man oh man. I've never and I mean NEVER in my life had a better massage (and I've had quite a few). First of all, my back pain is now nonexistent, so that result speaks for itself. But what was really impressive was the unmistakable depth of Monica's knowledge. She's as precise and knowledgeable as a surgeon (but make no mistake--the massage felt great), and is clearly deeply intellectually interested in the workings of the human body. With just about every touch, it felt like she was literally melting this chronic pain away. Unbelievable massage, incredibly talented masseuse. Thanks so much, Monica. I don't see how I'll ever be satisfied with a massage from anyone other than her, ever again. read more

Do yourself a favor, get a Kyra massage. Kyra is a great! She's been my massage therapist for well over a year now and I won't use anyone else. She is very intuitive when it comes to the aches and pains of my body. I have Sacro-Illiac joint issues which cause a lot of pain in the hips and down my legs. Kyra is always mindful and aware of my chronic pain and does a great job getting the appropriate muscles to release and relax. She also does an East Indian Head Massage which involves scalp, skull, face and jaw work that is incredibly tension relieving. As a yoga instructor it is very important that I trust my massage therapist to know my body, my pressure threshold and my body mechanics. Kyra has an excellent understanding of the muscular system and a tranquil calming nature that leaves you with that luxurious spa feeling at price you can afford. read more

Kyra is an excellent Massage Therapist. I've been doing 90 minute sessions weekly with her for the past several months. I have some nagging degenerative discs in my neck and upper back that cause chronic stiffness and pain, and her therapy has by far been the most helpful intervention. She is able to do both deep and detailed work, and unlike other therapists, she's very open to suggestions and interactive. She does a great whole body massage and will focus on the trouble spots I ask her to pay special attention to. As a physician, I whole heartedly recommend her to patients, friends, and anyone that would benefit from a massage. Also, her prices are quite fair for the Austin market, which allows me the luxury of getting a weekly massage. read more

Kyra has magic hands. She is small but mighty! My back is a brick wall and she is the first in a long while to break though. She is very attentive and accommodating throughout the massage organically responding to those trouble-spots that are in desperate need of some additional attention versus sticking to a systematic time limit assigned to each area. She is warm, professional, intuitive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her services extend beyond the table through helpful exercises or homeopathic suggestions to explore. Her prices are superb. The atmosphere is soothing. The interaction is genuine. I highly encourage a visit at Mantis Massage. Kyra is easily the best massage therapist I've encountered. read more

I am from the Pacific Northwest and visited Austin on business. I haven't had a massage in several years and just did an internet search for one that was open on a Sunday. It was super easy to schedule an appointment online. Finding the physical location was slightly difficult - it might help to put somewhere on the website that it is behind the gas station and lime green? Although I was a little late, Abby was very gracious and kind. She is very strong and thorough. Afterwards she gave me some pointers on strengthening my feet to prevent future pain in my calves. Too bad I didn't live here; I'd be a regular! read more

If you are committed to healing your body, restoring range of motion, and supporting local businesses, this is the studio for you! My first massage at Mantis (with Makayla) was everything I hoped it would be and more! I am a runner, soccer player, and 40hr/week desk monkey; I have tight hips. Makayla unglued some muscles that haven't worked properly for years. She even discovered the cause of some lower back pain that has bugged me (and perplexed other therapists) for months! Hands down the best massage I've had in a very, very long time. Consider me a regular from now on! read more

I had to go to Mantis because my shoulder muscles and back are killing me. The day before I got there, I had to sit and rest my back against the wall from time to time. It was difficult to even simply stand. It was stress and overwhelm. So I decided to go to Mantis and use the Yelp voucher. I was so surprised how Kyra has great pressure for her size. She was able to get to muscles in places I didnt even know had built up tension. I was able to work well that day I had the massage. it really helped me a lot. I liked the price and the experience. Will definitely be back. read more

I had my first professional massage at Mantis and it was AMAZING!! Kalli was my masseuse and let me tell you she is excellent at her job. Fantastic communicator, great energy, loves her job and makes you feel relaxed and amazing. I booked another session on the spot and I am planning on becoming a regular due to my body being so messed up from weight lifting/Crossfit. All I can say to anyone considering getting a deep tissue massage due to sports related injury, dont wait, DO IT! Worth every penny! Just dont hog up Kalli...she is my go to therapist :) read more

Had a 75-minute massage with Elyse yesterday and can unequivocally say it was one of the best I have ever had, and I've had many. She is amazing at intuitively adjusting pressure and location and truly found knots (and ways to alleviate them) that I never even knew I had. As well, Mantis does an outstanding job of scheduling, staying in touch, and following up. If you want to give yourself a wonderful and therapeutic gift, visit Elyse at Mantis Massage. She is an exceptionally talented therapist. You will absolutely thank yourself! read more

Kyra is awesome!! I had never gotten an in-home massage before, but I was definitely impressed with her when she came to my residence. She is very professional and shows a genuine interest in trying to work out any problem areas that you may have. I am a full time student, I work part time, and I am very active in sports and recreation; I tend to get a lot of stress in my upper back and neck. I can honestly say that Kyra has really helped to relieve some of the built of tension, and I feel a lot better! If you need a fix, call Kyra! :) read more

I was lead to Kyra's services with Mantis Massage thanks to my workplace's purchase of half-hour massages for the entire staff. And I'm glad they did, as I quickly became a fan. Kyra is wonderful! She is very kind, attentive and has a great facility for using the perfect amount of pressure. Though the space is small, she creates a pleasant, relaxing environment. She always makes sure to ask questions and is certain to tailor the session to your physical needs or preferences. I can't wait til my next one! read more

I totally agree with all of the other glowing reviews here -- had my first massage with Kyra this morning, and it was intense! In the best way possible. I have scoliosis, and despite her tiny frame she got deep into the muscles, even around into my quad, to address my serious knots. She sat with me after the massage to give me advice for treating my own back in the future, and she didn't pressure me to make another appointment. The experience was comfortable, professional, and top-notch. read more

I had a 60 min session with Audrey, who was lovely, and the massage was exactly what I needed. She made sure to ask ahead of time about my past massage experience, what I was looking for pressure-wise, etc, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was very calming, the massage was wonderful, and I left feeling SO good that I even signed up for their loyalty program (something I do not usually do) as I will surely be coming back to Mantis in the future. Thank you Audrey and Co. ! read more

I got my second massage from Becca yesterday and she helped me so much even in a 30 minute session. My back has lots of knots and she was able to work out a lot of the tension. I will be going back very soon! I've been very happy with my experience at Mantis both times. The rooms are clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. The massage tables are heated too which was really nice on a cold morning. Aromatherapy is relaxing and there are no hidden charges for massage lotion. read more
