I've been coming to Mantis for some years. It is by far the best place to get a massage. I've booked various therapists, and all have been professional. Each one has unique skills and abilities that leave you feeling relaxed. My daughter and I booked a session for yesterday with Kelsey. Omgoodness! It was THE BEST massage that I've ever gotten. She uses a rocking technique that is sooo relaxing. She also worked out knots and revitalized tired areas of my back, legs, and arms that I didn't know I had. The atmosphere was great, the location wasn't terribly difficult to find, and the hours are super convenient, but really what made it a great experience was Abby. Great place for a serious sports massage. Wonderful people, professional and great for any person. I have been coming here every few weeks for about 3 years now and am glad I found this place. I was training for climbing the Grand Teton with some friends so I had really stepped up my workout routine at CG to 2-3 fitness classes most days to build up my cardio and endurance. No amount of rolling was going to help here so I Yelped massage places in Austin and luckily I found Mantis. I definitely attribute my ability to keep such a high level workout routine (8 to 10 fitness classes/week + stair-climbing with a backpack of rocks for 3 to 5 hrs each Sat morning) to the therapists at Mantis helping my body recover each week with a deep tissue sports massage. The therapists I have had body work done have all been really knowledgeable (they take additional classes on musculature, health, etc to continue to hone their expertise) and they really know how to work out the knots - from exercise, bad posture, too much sitting at work, or even the bed waking up with a sore back. They have been amazing. I am not currently training for any mountain but still like to go every two weeks to keep my body aligned and recommend it for everyone. read more

My boyfriend scheduled me an appointment for my birthday and I was not disappointed. The location was great I came in on a Friday at 5:30 traffic was not too bad. The interior was amazing as soon as you walk in you can smell the eucalyptus oil. I was greeted kindly by my misseaus she offered me tea and water with a big smile. I did not wait very long we even got started early. she did read my notes as I complained about sore calves. after I got comfortable she immediately got to work. She was amazing. This was my first prenatal massage for this pregnancy. I had a few about 3 years ago with my first baby at a different massage place. This massage was by far better than the other place. The pillow support was great, the room was great, the massage with Venessa was GREAT. I was truly relaxed by the end of the session. My back pain was gone! I will come here regularly for the rest of my pregnancy and probably many times after the baby is born. They have an adult coloring book in lobby, which I enjoyed while waiting for my appointment time. The only negative I can think of is that my room was right off the lobby and while it was not very noisy, I could hear some sounds coming from outside the door. Had a great first experience here. I started an exercise regimen recently and have been really feeling it in my muscles. It was getting to the point that I couldn't sleep at night because my lower back was hurting so bad. Decided it was time to get a massage, and found Mantis on Yelp (so thanks to everyone else who reviewed it!). I arrived late and felt horrible, but the massage therapist didn't make me feel bad about it, and still gave me the full hour massage. She explained to me that this isn't a quick-fix and that I need to incorporate more stretching and yoga into my routine, and I agree. The massage itself was wonderful, and since then I haven't had any problems sleeping at night. I plan to come back at least once every 2 months to stay feeling this great. Before we got started she took a few minutes to ask me what my hopes were, what areas i wanted the focus on etc. i also let her know about my injuries and what areas to avoid. My massage was 90 minutes long and it was 90 minutes of bliss. Lucy found every kink and knot and worked on it. She avoided the injury areas. She was so thoughtful and attentive to remember them. I pulled a back muscle (or two) during a recent office move and wanted to speed up my recovery. I scheduled a 30 minute session online through the Mantis website (very easy and intuitive). Kelsey was my therapist and she was fantastic! She took time before the session began to discuss my pain areas and where to focus our thirty minutes. Then Kelsey went straight to work! To make the most of our time I asked her to dial up the pressure. At one point I think her feet came off the floor! It felt awesome. But this is where Mantis gets the 5th star; the consultation afterwards. Kelsey gave me tips and advice on posture, ergonomics at work, and how to stretch out my back at home. A little goes a long way and Kelsey was all about the details. I will definitely schedule another session again soon. read more

I double checked here on yelp and am glad to now be adding to the five stars to this business. Ash was my masseuse or should I say my "mattise"- as in Pierre. She is an artist and her work, touch, and professionalism was sincerely what I needed. I loathe the end of a massage- it always makes me a little anxious because I know that the relaxation is ending, but I especially appreciated that the wind down was calm and seemed to taper off perfectly.
