Had a great massage this past weekend with Robin. They're not kidding when they say that they actually do *deep* tissue massage. I work long hours at a desk job and then spend all of my free time engaging in exercise (dance, Pilates, yoga, running)... so to say that I have lots of aches and pains is an understatement! The location is very comfortable and homey, which is what I prefer. I'm not a fan of super high-end spas where you feel like you can't relax! The room was dimly lit and the table warmer was already on - perfect for a chilly day. Robin was very attentive and increased or decreased pressure as requested. She helped me work out some particularly nasty knots in my shoulders, chest, and back. She also asked me if there were any areas that weren't exactly problem spots, but I enjoyed being massaged - which resulted in a very nice hand/wrist massage :) Unfortunately, I had only scheduled a 60 minute session so we didn't have time to fully work the rest of my limbs. Maybe next time! One star off on a purely personal basis - it *is* arguably a little pricier than some other studios around town. I don't blame them, though - they know what they're doing and can afford to charge a premium for good work! Unfortunately, my poor little grad school self will probably have to keep attending a chain spa (Massage Envy, La Vida, etc.) until I can afford to pamper myself at Mantis some more ;) read more

I absolutely love Mantis! Have been coming here since well before COVID. Precautions are in place and it feels very safe here since COVID. My regular massage therapist is Sparkles and she is amazing. Her standard deep tissue is spectacular and she is capable of very hard pressure. She recently started offering ashiatsu as well and I have to say it is incredible. I don't think I could ever go back to a standard massage after having the ashiatsu. The amount of pressure increases but the level of pain goes down (I think due to additional surface area of the foot). Spectacular. I've seen several other therapists here in the past and they have all been excellent. If you are looking for a nice clean female owned local business to support and you want a terrific massage, this is a great option! read more

So lucky I got squeezed in today! Bobbie did an amazing job and even showed me how to stretch out some of the issues I was having. I walked in there in so much pain and left feeling so much better. The facility was clean and super relaxing. read more

Mattie is really good at what she does! If you are looking for a therapeutic massage that is going to help improve any issues you may be facing, she is your girl. Mattie is very knowledgeable and truly wants to find/help the root of your pain. I have been struggling with poor posture & back pain and after this appointment I am standing up straight! :) read more

I had an awesome massage with Zanni! She listened to all of my problem areas and hit it out of the park. I will definitely go back and highly recommend Mantis. read more

I'm a non binary weirdo who is slightly nervous about femme situations and I was made comfortable! Crystal kicked butt and beat the sciatica away! I would trust her to lead an army ! Hehe read more

This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in until you leave, it's a tiny piece of paradise. Relaxing, inviting, cut off from the stresses of the world. The staff are all competent, courteous, and exude an atmosphere of calm. I had a massage with Sandra, who was able to fix problems I've had for years! In the past I have been skeptical about the value of a massage, and even had times where I was uncomfortable. Mantis has now righted those wrongs, and brought me to see the value of this therapy! read more

Went to Mantis on South Congress for the first time after a friend recommended it to me. I have had many massages, but this was one of the best. I asked for a deep tissue level massage and Lisa did not fail to deliver. I really appreciated how she asked several times throughout the session is the pressure was ok (not excessive at all). My favorite part was that Lisa explained to me my trouble spots. I can feel my trouble spots, but now I have a deeper understanding of them on a muscular level. I am writing this the next day and I feel so much relief and relaxation. I am 100% going to come back!!! read more

Mattie was so knowledgeable, aware of what was needed and helped work out so much of my tightness. I booked my next appointment right after to keep up how I'm feeling. I have been to many spas and had many massages and nothing compares to a Mantis Massage. Highly recommen! read more

Amazing prenatal massage with Becky As luck would have it I developed sciatica pain two days before my scheduled prenatal massage with Becky. When I arrived every step was causing shooting pains. Becky was wonderfully accommodating, listened to my concerns and walked me through how a prenatal massage would work. The facility was quiet and relaxing, and Becky told me that she can adjust anything (music, temperature, blankets, pillows for propping me up, pressure) to make me more comfortable. I enjoyed her sense of humor and professionalism. She put special attention to my painful sciatica region and I was finally able to walk out of my appointment pain free. Afterwards she told me about what she was able to feel and things that I can do to manage the tightness. Her advice is invaluable to me and I really appreciate her help in keeping me pain free! read more

I had an amazing massage. My masseuse used gliding cupping on my back body, an experience that was new to me. It was the most magnificent release I've ever had in a massage. The feelings were pretty intense, as my fascia were super tight, but I feel so refreshed and amazing afterward. She took care of years of accumulated COVID tension in one session. But I'm addicted. It was the ultimate in self-care. Thank you! I've always enjoyed my massage at Mantis, but this one was truly outstanding. read more

This was hands down the best massage I've ever gotten. Syd was incredible. My body is full of knots and decades of built up stress from food industry work and heavy powerlifting workouts. But the amount of pressure on the deep tissue massage and trigger point work combined with the limb and joint movement made working thru my knots and sore spots so much better and manageable. Even with the pressure I felt because my knots are super dense, the way Syd worked thru them, I never wanted the massage to end. read more

I was given a gift card from friends for Boss' Day and it's one of the best gifts I've ever gotten! From the moment I entered to the moment I checked out, it was a wonderful, positive, relaxing experience. And my time with Bex was fantastic! She was so patient as I asked a few questions (I'm a total newbie to all this) and I felt like a million bucks at the end of my session. I'm totally adding regular appointments to my self-care routine. They've made me a repeat customer and are definitely worth the money :) read more

I can't speak for the other therapists here but if they are half as good as Dannie, then you will walk away feeling renewed! I have fasciitis, joint, pectoral, rotator cuff, hip issues, you name it. After the first session I had relief in places I haven't had relief in years. Tip these folks very WELL! You cannot put a price on your health and they are there to support just that! read more

Scheduled a last minute, same day 30 minute quickie. My neck and back had been bothering me and I wanted just a little something to reset. My experience was wonderful! My therapist did exactly as requested and I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Mission accomplished. I found the prices very reasonable for the quality of experience. Will definitely return. Only wish Rosalyn worked at the Congress location-much closer to my house. read more

I had one of the best massages ever from Katie, I was hurting and couldn't sleep well and after my massage, I sleep all night. Thank you Katie! read more

I had a deep tissue massage at Mantis on Airport with Abbey and she did well. Her specialty is the Tao style.. using her feet, elbows , and knees. I'd never had this during a massage and felt anxious in the beginning but she warned me before attempting a move and went VERY slowly. It felt awesome and I'll definitely return for another massage. They are not about the frills like other massage salons but they definitely focus on delivering therapeutic massage and that's what most customers really want/need. read more

Wonderful massage! The massage therapist listened to me and made sure to tailor the massage to my unique needs. If I didn't like a certain massage technique, I told her and she readjusted. It ended up being the perfect massage. The service was friendly, personable, and professional. I will be back! read more

I got a prenatal massage with Sparkles and it was fantastic! Best thing I did for myself during my trip to Austin. If you're pregnant and like me, you're looking for a place with an option to lay face down - this place has that option! They had a special pillow with spaces for both belly and bust. Sparkles was so kind and friendly. She made me feel so welcome and took time to listen to where my body was at and what it needed. She took care in the massage and worked on all the knots and tense spots I had. My husband went to Crystal - he said she was informative and had positive energy. He's picky about massages because he has a hard time finding anyone who's able to use enough pressure to work out his knots but said Crystal did a fantastic job! DEFINITELY recommend stopping in to Mantis! read more

Really enjoyed my 60-min massage. My neck and shoulders are significantly more relaxed and I'm looking forward to incorporating regular massages to combat the tension I often experience in that area. Many thanks to my massage therapist, Dannie. The vibe of the studio was great too - chill, welcoming, and down-to-earth. read more

I've been to Mantis on Airport twice and both experiences have been wonderful. The first massage was with Ann Marie, who was very communicative and helpful for my first professional massage. I felt comfortable with her and I liked that she used gentle essential oils to help with my allergies. This last visit was with Monica, who was very professional and knew exactly what she was doing. I requested gentle pressure with focus on my upper body and she listened and followed through with exactly what I needed. My body felt calm and relaxed for the rest of the day. Excited for future appointments at Mantis! read more

Every massage therapist at Mantis is magical! They work wonders and give fantastic massages. They are taking every safety precaution possible during Covid and the whole staff is so kind and sweet. A massage at Mantis is always the highlight of my week. And their prices are reasonable too! read more

As someone who's had massages for years and years, I thought I knew what deep tissue massage was. I did not - and I suspect you might not either until you have a massage delivered by Kinza. I won't lie - it wasn't a relaxing chill rubdown. It was occasionally painful and frequently uncomfortable. And it was incredibly therapeutic. Sore as I might be in a few spots the day after, the combination of deep pressure, physical manipulation, and cupping have me feeling fantastic. If you don't like deep pressure, steer clear of Kinza and see someone else at Mantis (not 'cause she "can't" do it, but it seems a waste of her skills!) If you need some truly therapeutic bodywork - she's your person! read more

Amazing! Honestly, I think this was the best massage I've ever received. Emily, I'm forever grateful :) Definitely check this place out!

I've been going to Mantis for some time now, approximately once/twice a month for the last year, and I've never had a bad experience. My masseuse (Kelsey) is an absolute rockstar. She always starts the session by chatting about how I feel, what I'm looking to get from the session, and making sure I'm totally comfortable. I have a number of recurring problems with my shoulders and hips, and she has been able to alleviate these issues noticeably. She's not afraid to apply force, but she's attentive to my body language and tension. I always leave feeling great. Sometimes I come in feeling totally fine and ask for a relaxing massage instead, which is consistently a delight. Highly recommended for any and all. read more

It's rare to have experiences that meet the needs of your mind, body, and soul. My partner and I scheduled deep tissue massages with Kinza and Dannie - they were out of this world. My partner is a former marine and Kinza worked his full body. She was very knowledgeable, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything thoroughly. I had Dannie and she had an incredible energy and was very knowledgeable as well. She wasn't afraid to tackle the tension in my lower back and shoulders (it's pretty bad, y'all). What made the difference was that it was the first time it felt like someone was trying to tend to our issues to improve our overall well-being - not just casually massage us. We are very grateful for this experience and can't wait to go back to visit them! read more

I've been to 5 separate massage clinics and always left a little underwhelmed. That is until today. Bobbie is what's up. Super talented, very nice, and didn't murder me. That's all 3 boxes checked. Plus the clinic is very clean and welcoming. read more

Wonderful place for massages! It's a very calm and soothing place, definitely worth checking it out.

Can't recommend enough. The Airport location is close to where I live, it takes seconds to book, super-convenient, and they are extremely professional. All of the masseuses have been great (I've seen 4 or 5) although I'll normally book Sandra if she is available. I've been experiencing tightness in my quads the last year and the massages help a lot, it's also a great way to take a break from the world and relax. I try to visit every 2-3 weeks. read more

Continue to really like Mantis and they have a number of very good therapists. Massage prices have continued to trend up though--as have prices everywhere else in Austin--so it's not quite the steal it once was. read more

I had an amazing experience with Elday as my massage therapist. She was very knowledgeable, professional, patient, and paid special attention to the issues I was having that we discussed before my session. It was incredibly relaxing and afterwards I felt like I was walking on clouds. Be sure to come 10 min early! You fill out a form and chat with your massage therapist about your needs/problem areas/etc. And they have nice covid guidelines - everyone wears a mask. I'd highly recommend Mantis - and ask for Elday! read more

Went during COVID and felt super safe in the environment. The massage was INCREDIBLE. If you want deep tissue -- Becky is your girl!! I feel like it's super rare to be able to find someone to put as much pressure as I like and she was one of the best. Already booked my next one. 10/10 read more

Excellent experience from start to finish. Loved the ease of making my appointment online. From the minute I walked in, I was already feeling relaxed. The environment is beautifully orchestrated. I enjoyed a cup of hot tea and soaked in the serenity while waiting for my massage therapist. My massage was with Sydney. She was kind, warm and really listened to what I needed from the session. She focused on my upper-body to alleviate carpal tunnel pain. Sydney even gave me tips on how I can continue to work on eliminating my issues which I really appreciated! I left feeling extremely relaxed, a feeling I carried with me throughout the rest of my day. Highly recommend Mantis and I will definitely be back! read more

I've had several amazing sessions with Zanni, and I highly recommend Mantis and Zanni in particular. Heather is amazing at her craft and Mantis Massage is a very clean, organized and feel good vibe kind of place. Highly recommend.

The best massage I've ever had! That's saying something too since I've had chronic pain for years and get massages regularly for pain management. Syd was so fantastic, I booked multiple monthly follows up. Can't wait for my next one. read more

I would give 4 and 1/2 stars if I could. It was very good. It had been a very long time since I had a massage. My body is very stressed from old injuries and too much sitting at a computer. Dannie did a good job starting to go through my many knots and completely stuck fascia. She introduced me to cupping which I really enjoyed. There are only a couple of improvements I would suggest. One is that as a new client I would like to be told what is going to be done throughout the session. This is partly my fault as I should have asked for it. I don't like my back "popped" or "cracked" and I should have said so (even thought it was fine and actually felt good, it's more of a fear thing on my part). The best parts of the massage were fantastic. The only other odd thing was she had her dog with her the whole time. I love dogs and it was a good dog. I just thought it was odd I wasn't told ahead of time; what if I were allergic or fearful? I will see Dannie again. read more
