Their sushi here is pretty fresh and they charge typical sushi prices. I had chirashi, which was like $17, but after tip and tax, it came out to be $21. This place is kinda of Korean. They served me miso soup and those mini plates of kimchi and other stuff that mean restaurants usually serve. The waitress was very friendly with groups of guests, but not so much me, probably because I was alone. This place is great to come to if you're looking for delicious, large platters of sashimi or uni. Not so great if you're eating on a budget read more

Worst service I have experienced. Besides overbooking and pushing all the dishes out to your table to get you out of there as soon as possible, they ignore you because their only goal is to get as many customers as possible without caring about the quality of their food. The best thing about the place is that the servers and owners yell at each other in Korean, so you won't understand when they are putting you down. read more

We LOVE sashimi and uni and this place did not disappoint us. We ordered uni bowl, lobster sashimi, salmon sashimi, unagi and Saba sushi. Fish was fresh, service was fast, and the price was very reasonable. Everything was beyond our expectations. read more

All those 5 stars reviews are correct! This place is AWESOME! Yes, it might be a little bite on the expensive side. But you get what you pay for. Three of us got the $100 combination meal. So much good and fresh food! The variety is just unbelievable -- soup, sashimi, uni bowl, lobster, oyster shooters, grilled sanma fish, green tea ice-cream and more and more and more... If you have little kids in your party, they will give them some really cool toys to enhance their eatery experience. There are 2 private rooms for large party. read more

-Nice homely atmosphere. -Accommodating staff, especially Esther! -She went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. -Unique alternate to traditional banchan. -Ordered medium sashimi platter, sashimi was ok -Our favorite dish of the night was the uni bowl. The combination of perfectly steamed rice, masago, seaweed, black sesame, and sesame oil worked nicely with the fresh creamy uni. Will def be back for more uni bowls and will try their lobster soup. :) read more

Food taste fresh and yummy. I love the uni. They are sweet and fresh. The owner gave few toys for my 1 year old baby to distract him, do my husband and I can enjoy the food. Good experience! read more

We sat at the sushi bar where we were entertained by the young sushi chef who was very personable, attentive, & friendly. So, the waitress gives you a small plate of their house salad and miso soup. And whenever I am having sushi, I always order ocha with a bottle of filtered cold sake. My usual suspect of nigiri: salmon, saba, unagi, & ikura. Freshness was ok, not grade A quality. Their rice was dry (it was not sticky enough to bind with the fish) and the texture felt like it was a large grain versus short grained rice. I am pretty generous at giving them a 3star. I am actually basing this on their excellent customer service & their attempt to entertainment us. I can probably return. Sadly though, I wouldn't be in a rush to do so! Jussayin' read more

I visites here on Sunday around 5pm so l did not have to wait for a table. I was seated right away and ordered the famous uni bowl. The restaurant got busy after few minutes later I arrived even thought it was Sunday night so I assume they must be super busy during Friday or Saturday. I would suggest arrive a little earlier than the normal dinner hours to avoid the long lines. Anyways the uni bowl was a little bit bland to my taste. It looked great and i thought it was such a great idea to serve the dish in a empty uni shell but i discovered one of uni spikes in my rice. My friend ordered a dinner box that comes with tempura and cali rolls and it was okay read more

Wow. What an experience. Came here on a Saturday night and line just to be seated took 40 minutes. However, with the amount of customers, we were seated as soon as possible. I came here with two other friends and we decided to order the famous $100 combination. I never experienced the type of quality in sashimi that they presented. This combination came with three main dishes: fresh sashimi w/ live lobster & Uni sashimi, Uni bowls, and lobster soup. Along with these three main dishes came with many side dishes such as, oyster shooters, sea snails, seaweed, fried garlic, and many more! Also, even with the restaurant being a full house the service was actually quite amazing. I'll be back again! read more

Typical Korean owned Japanese sushi joint. And 4.5 stars?!?! Is everybody eating something different from me? Huh. Came here with family and didn't pay attention to what they ordered. Gasp. I fail as a Yelper :( We did end up getting sashimi, along with a bunch of assorted sushi and soups. Nothing really screamed out to me as amazing or terrible. Otherwise, the service is kind and helpful. The decor is warm and welcoming. We parked in the small lot nearby. Willing to try again. Maybe I'll actually pick what I'm eating this time. read more

Sushi--Korean style. What is that you ask? Instead of ordering rolls or bento bowls, it's more typical to order a "course." This course comes with your choice of sushi or sashimi, a LOT of side dishes (sometimes they give you extra as service) which includes everything from quail egg to baked fish, rice and casserole (jji geh), and a bunch of other exotics. You can see why it's called a course. You start with porridge and end with green tea ice cream. Satisfying! This place is very cozy and has a hole-in-the-wall feel to it, but this awesomeness comes hand in hand with horrible parking. I believe the only available parking is street parking in front of the restaurant, but it's fine. We're not in LA. ;) Now there are plenty of other restaurants that can give you the Korean style sushi experience, but this place stands out to me because of their exotics. Not many places actually give you LIVE uni bowls that move when you poke it. We also got oyster shots thanks to the generosity of the owner, a kind-hearted, chatty lady. :) I think Miyeon L. put it perfectly when she said, "mom & pops beat out Kabuki's any day." read more

Mansun Sushi - Uni bowl - Japanese Near Me - Walnut, California

I kept seeing people posting pictures of the sashimi & uni bowls here so I kept telling myself that I would come try it but didn't get a chance to until recently. This place is a hole in the wall; literally on the side of the street across from in n out. I must have driven past it so many times but never even noticed it being here. Nevertheless, I was surprised by how packed it was on the night that we went -- I kept wondering where all these people were parking because they have a tiny lot and there weren't that many cars parked on the street either. The service was good; we were seated as soon as we got inside and served some warm crispy rice tea. We weren't that hungry so we just ordered basic items on the menu; my bf got the bento box and I ordered the man sun dinner special for $22. It's a Korean owned place so believe so it came with a bunch of Korean sides, as well as miso soup & salad. I was surprised by how much food they give for the prices that we paid.. I think the bento box was only about $13 but it came with a lot of food. My sashimi dish was a lot too; I was actually really full & it came with a side basket of tempura as well. I ended up taking half my plate of sashimi to go. I definitely will be coming back to try all their other options here, such as the $45 special that everyone is talking about as well as their uni bowl. read more

This is interesting. I know there are many sushi places that are Korean owned and this is straight up Korean owned. Nothing wrong with that it's just the most interesting because I've never had bacchan dishes with my sushi before! I got the Man Sun Luch special with Spicy Tuna rolls and sashimi. It was like $14.95 and I was pretty full after. The bacchans help too. Different sushi experience. My friend got the terikayi box lunch and it turns out the meat almost tastes like bulgolgi type meat. So if you've been warned if you were expecting Japanese teriyaki. It is not. The fish I had was pretty fresh. If you go a little after prim lunch time it's kinda confusing because I would flag down a server and they would acknowledge but then they are busy kinda still setting up the kitchen or talking to friends/relatives. Anyway, it's still average service. Parking is kinda odd. Definitely street parking on a busy street. Came here a little after 1:00 pm so it wasn't busy. We did see a table across from us getting uni and they seem to be enjoying it by taking many selfies, etc with the cracked opened uni. I personally didn't try the uni but it's straight from the spiky urchin. read more

Great local restaurant. I ordered through Postmates, and there was a small 10 minute delay (though it was peak dinner hours). Because of that, they included edamame and salad for free. We are a white couple and this place was extremely rude to us. Yelp sent me a letter claiming people complained about my original review so here it is updated to reflect my very own personal experience without assumptions of their business practices. Its Unbelievable how they treated us when we tried to dine with them. Fact: They refused to let us sit at the sushi bar although there were 7 open chairs. Fact: They handed us a menu in English with $100 dinner specials. Fact: They told us to order from specials combo menu. Fact: They were rude to me. My opinion: It's just ridiculous this treatment is happening in Southern California. Fact: We are now definitely complaining to Better Business Bureau and the City. Man Sun Sushi Town - You still FAIL. Shame on you. read more

This place is a seriously a hidden gem in Diamond Bar. For $100 you get sh*t ton of food. Just when you think it's over.. More and more food keeps coming out, and you start to wonder how the owners actually make money.. It's so much food that I'm not even going to list all the banchan or types of fish/ sashimi /uni bowl they have to offer.. This place is great. And for sure will fix your sushi craving for at least another month. read more

It's average. My friends and I shared the X-Large and, well... The meal had its ups and downs. Service: friendly but highly inefficient. My group was there for two hours, with one hour waiting for our uni bowls. Even with my friend sweet-talking the server in Korean, we had to wait that last half hour to get a small substituted uni bowl (they ran out of whole uni, bowls, so their small one was rice, roe, and two small slivers of uni). Food runs out and all, but if service is that slow, they either need to create a better plan or hire more than 2.5 people (one was a busboy/runner) to take care of the 15 or so tables. The server was so apologetic though, she gave us fans. So sweet. Food: I don't think the platters are worth the money. Despite our table covered in side dishes and lobster sashimi/soup, which was really nice, the amount of sashimi (no rice to accompany it) provided was worth maybe, $50 tops. The extra large order was worth $150 split among 5 of us, and we also ordered side dishes. I wasn't full at all. The food wasn't bad, but I'd not pay that much again, even if I were to get the whole uni bowl. Although not old or stale, the fish wasn't fresh enough for me to want to pay higher-end sushi prices for it. Cleanliness: pretty clean. At some point there was a little gnat that bothered us but overall it was good. My clothes reeked of sushi vinegar when I left though. It was an okay experience overall. We still tipped the service decently because they didn't mean to make us wait. But the experience was not worth the amount we paid for. I would consider going back, but not for that sashimi platter again. read more

I love this place! Absolutely one of the best sushi places around. Me and my friends come here when we are craving sashimi. They give a lot of sides and it's very filling. It's not as great as places in ktown, but the best around the area. The only downfall is the waiting time. But it's worth the wait. read more

Been going to this restaurant for the past 20years and love the food. Sea food is fresh and plenty of side dishes...

We had the $100 special for four people. This included copious amounts of delicious food. I'll try and remember everything: Rice tea Fried fish - think it was halibut Sea snails Baby shrimp with roe Edamame Mollusc sashimi Seasoned conch Seaweed salad Lettuce salad Plain congee Fried roe fish (sorry can't remember the name) Green tea ice cream Grilled salmon head Soup with fish slice Uni bowl Lobster sashimi + lobster soup Assorted sashimi I would give this place 5 stars but we had to wait very long to be seated and as some other reviews mentioned the tables could be cleared sooner hence more patrons accommodated. Having said that, once seated the waiters and waitress were great. read more

I ordered delivery from here, just the tempura udon and the mixed tempura. Udon was ok, too pricey though as it was not as flavourful as I've had at other places, and they already had the noodles in the broth when It was delivered (most places will keep the noodles separate). The mixed tempura was also good, but not much different from other Japanese restaurants. read more

Came to this restaurant on a weeday night with a friend and was seated right away. One of the reasons why I came here was because of their famous uni bowl! We ordered that along with the Mansun dinner special. I know now why this place is well known because it is so fresh and delicious. The uni bowl is a live sea urchin with different toppings such as masago and seweed salad. Also, their service is on point. I believe this is a family owned restaurant with well trained and well respected young servers who are quick and attentative. It got busy through the night but the servers still checked up on us and gave us a great service! Definietly will be back to try out their lobster sashimi special! read more

I love Ojiya in Chino Hills, but this place is oh so much better! The food is amazing and the staff surprised us with presents for my unborn child. Come during lunch since it's half the price of dinner and the portions are the same. Before the actual dinner, we received appetizer dishes similar to Korean restaurants. Our appetizers consisted of edamame, mushrooms, potato salad, and fish cake. They were quite yummy. I got their teriyaki chicken plate and it came with mixed tempura, salad, miso soup, rice, red snapper (raw), and green tea ice cream for dessert. I was so happy and satisfied when I left the restaurant. I'm still happy and smiling just thinking about it. I wasn't able to eat the fish because I am currently with child so my significant other ate it and he said it was amazing and that I should be jealous. My significant other got one of their raw fish bowls, which is probably bigger than my belly and my belly is pretty ginormous right now. He fell in love with the dish. read more

Really love the fish here. Very fresh and delicious. The lunch prices are a great value. We highly recommend the raw fish with rice lunch. My family and I ate here for my sister's going away. I suggested this place after everyone decided on getting sushi. We got seated into the room on the right by the entrance. The service was great (probably because we speak Korean). The owner brought out toys for the nephew to keep him entertained and happy while the adults ate. Food-wise, I would say that their fish quality is better than most of the other places I've been to around the area. There is no denying that the fish they serve is fresh. You can taste it, and the fish doesn't smell fishy! We ordered the special that comes with a platter of sashimi, oyster shooters, uni rice bowl, and all that other stuff. We ordered two specials which was more than enough food for the 6 of us. Some key details from our experience that led to the 3 star rating: 1. A for sure fact is that they reuse the uni bowls :/ This can technically mean that the uni is not as fresh as they want you to this. The latter part is speculation. 2. They suck at washing their utensils and plates. We had to send back a couple plates/utensils/dishes because there was pieces of food stuck to them. 3. Little flies joined in to share our dinner. I'm not sure if this is true for the outside eating area. When we told the management about the flies they just blamed the farmers market next door. Wow, from what I know, that market has been there for quite some time... and you still haven't figured out a way to keep the pests out? :/ I really wanted to like this place enough to give it 5 stars. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food, I don't see myself going back. Sushi is known to be expensive and high-class. For the amount we paid, I'm shocked at how unsanitary the place was. read more

The customer service here is extremely poor! After we sat down, the waiter came and said that they made a mistake, some other people were before us. Then they asked us to leave the table. What?!!!! Does this make sense??? What world do they live in? We left this restaurant and will definitely not come back again. God bless rude waiters. read more

This is a korean owned sushi establishment, meaning ban chan with your meal! I'm not a fan of this place's sushi, only their Uni Bowl. For $15, I can get a giant live uni that's combined with a mixture of rice, pickles, seaweed and other goodies.. it's a mouthgasm. Their lunch specials are the best here, especially since lunch specials are served every day, instead of most places serving them only during the week. Even though the sushi selection here isn't the best, it makes up for it with great value. You even get free icecream in the end for free! Downfalls of this place are their dinner prices don't justify what you're getting at all, there were a lot of flies the last time I went there, the sushi selection isn't vast, and it's not the freshest. read more

My family and I dined here last night for an early Mother's Day dinner. We're occasional regulars at the restaurant, so the owners here are a bit familiar with us. Man Sun is located at the side of the street, so customers have to parallel-park. It is also a Korean-owned Japanese restaurant and along with the sushi and sashimi, they also serve Korean side dishes and a spicy seafood stew. This is not an all-you-can-eat joint and the prices are a bit up there. But, it's a sushi restaurant and it's to be expected. The sushi quality is pretty amazing and there are so many extra complimentary side dishes. Green tea ice cream is served in the end as well. It was a feast for us and we're a family of 5! Their uni bowl is so delicious and their sashimi is fresh as well. However, I did find a small hair on my salmon sashimi last night so I had to take away a couple of stars. Overall, Man Sun is an a-okay restaurant to dine in once in a while and it is also a good place to celebrate for a special occasion. read more

I don't eat a lot of seafood, so I can't say much on how the rolls, nigiri, sashimi, etc. are here, but it gets really crowded here so it seems quite popular. FOOD: I normally just order the chicken bento, comes with your choice of spicy tuna rolls or California rolls and mixed tempura (sweet potatoes, broccoli, shrimp, and the like) with a side salad and rice. The bento during lunch is only $6.99, which I find is a great deal for what you get. The bentos are always delicious and the tempura cooked to perfection of golden coat on the outside, slightly crispy but tender vegetables in the center. The chicken is also very juicy drizzled lightly of sauce. SERVICE: The owner or someone is always so friendly here, and the waiters are always taking away unnecessary plates to make more room for the customers. They also provide water and tea in good intervals so our cups are always filled. :) ATMOSPHERE: I love how clean this place is all the time. I don't have to peer at the table and chairs to see strange stains and such. Whew! One bullet dodged! ;) It seems night time they get full house with a long lines too, so I suggest getting there earlier to snag a table! Also, they have side parking on the streets, but those are always full. But there's another small lot on the side of the workout/dental place. It's still pretty small, and parking is still difficult to find. :/ read more

I come here every chance I get. Their sashimi is very fresh and really inexpensive for the great quality. Sashimi salad and Mansun Lunch Special are definitely life hacks worth trying. They also have a secret dish called the "uni bowl" which is not on their menu but definitely worth it if you like uni. They give you a sea urchin that's so fresh it's still moving when it's in your bowl, and it's filled with sushi rice, seaweed, tako, and some other sea vegetables. I don't really know what else to say other than this place is amazing. Has complimentary side dishes in the beginning and delicious green tea ice cream at the end. And their service is stellar. Unfortunately they don't have that large of a parking lot (like 6 spaces total?) but there's street parking so it's not a big deal. If you order takeout they also give you miso soup. :) read more
