Diana's got the touch when it comes to massaging my stress away. I'm not even ashamed to confess that I even end up dozing off in her caring hands! The salon is very clean and offers a huge array of nail colors for every mood. They offer a full range of nail services, including gel, acrylic, and paraffin treatments; as well as waxing. Everyone is friendly and I always feel like an old friend whenever I walk in or even pass by. I've referred friends and family members there because I know that they'll receive great service at a very reasonable cost. My nail polish on my fingers lasts up to 5 days with just a natural manicure (hubby, please wash those dishes will ya?). Pedicures are so fantastic and I never get chips between visits. Diana always does a great job trimming, filing, cleaning up my cuticles, moisturizing my hands and feet, and boy do I love the sea salt scrub on my tired calves. The hot towel on my legs always feels amazing before the polish goes on. My nails always look on fleek when I leave there and I especially love indulging in Diana's fun and sassy signature flower with rhinestone center on my toes during the summer months for just a few extra dollars. I always get compliments on them, most recently even from one of my doctors lol! There's always ample parking and the location is super convenient for me. The mani/pedi will only take up about an hour (or less) so it's perfect if you need to be in and out of there while still receiving top-notch service. I feel like I need to get my nails done again, just to give this a fair rating. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because it wasn't the best, nor the worst, experience I've had at a nail salon. The price is worth it. Let's get some housekeeping out of the way. There is lots of free parking at this location, and it's not busy. I went on a Saturday at 3pm (made the appointment the same day) before Mother's Day and the place was not packed. So those are all positives. The woman who did my nails (I didn't catch her name), was pretty much like all the other women who did my nails: quiet, straight to the point, little to no conversation, and did as I had asked her. So why not 5 stars? Well, one- when she removed my acrylic nails, she was a little rough and used a fake nail to rip/pop off the acrylic ones. Shit kinda hurt. One of the old acrylic nails hit me when it popped off! lol And when she was doing my gel nails, the little nail dryer or whatever the hell that heat lamp is, was burning the hell out of my hand. I picked a regular pedi $24.99 and wasn't disappointed. Not overly ecstatic either. They trim your nails before soaking which I'm not used to and usually have them soaking to soften. I chose a color I normally don't which was a tangerine-like, pastel, summery one. I actually liked it. Their polishes are OPI and when I shook them all, they seemed diluted, like acetone was added. Nonetheless the color wasn't thinned out and has endured. The massage was more of a rub but it was still relaxing. They get busy so I'd make an appointment. I was in search of a nail salon nearby to UH Manoa, so I decided to try Manoa Nails out. I called around 11 AM and was able to get a 1 PM slot for me and my friend. I went in to get a gel fill and the whole process took about an hour, which is typical. I showed her a photo and she was able to replicate it pretty well! I was pleasantly surprised with the design. My total came out to $48 + tip, which is a bit more than I'd usually pay for a gel fill with art on only two fingers. My friend also did a full gel holographic manicure with old gel polish take off and that cost her $45 as well. I did notice that some of my nails were a little bumpy, the shape wasn't perfect, and the sides of my nails were missing polish.. I might just be a perfectionist and expect that when I pay $40+ for my nails. However, the ladies working at Manoa Nails are pleasant and will help you achieve what you're looking for. The Boss has had very bad experiences with a few shops, so after an extensive Yelp search we thought Manoa Nails might be a good fit. Thank Goodness she was pleased with her experience and we will be returning. The Boss Lady doesn't do a lot for herself so regular manicures are one of her only treats. Ahhhhh I LOVE this salon!! I'm not the type to get my nails done at a salon - more often than not, I do them myself. However, for my once-a-year manicure, I'm so happy we ended up here. As other yelpers mentioned, do make an appointment if you can. We called for an appointment maybe two or three days prior and they were able to squeeze us in. Manoa Nails is located on the second floor of the marketplace, almost right on top of Wholesale Unlimited. While this isn't the cheapest mani/pedi you'll ever get, it is so worth it to pay extra for the service. My mom got a regular manicure and I got a regular pedicure and the "gel-ish" mani. I'm now on week two and I only have one teeny tiny little chip. Tammy was amazing! I wasn't positive if she could copy the design I found online, but she did a perfect job. The next time I come home, I'll definitely make an appointment with her. I've been going to Manoa Nails for a few months now and can honestly say that they do an awesome job. All of their staff are very helpful and friendly. Since my first appointment I never go anywhere else! My friend got me into gelish nails, which are great because the manicure last 2-3 weeks. Since I teach preschool this is amazing, most regular manicures last a week tops! The first nail salon I went to charged about $35 and only did the nail polish...no manicure or anything! At Manoa Nails they remove the gellish polish, do a full manicure, and new gellish polish for just around $32! If you go ask for Tien. She is so nice and does amazing work. If you like nail art, Tien can do glitter fades and all sorts of art with the gellish polish. It's a little more expensive than a single color, but well worth the cost. She is very friendly and has great customer service. If you are chatty like me she is fun to talk with, but if you prefer less talking she totally adjusts to your preferences. I also appreciate that they are very upfront about pricing. The first time I went in the owner let me know what each charge would be BEFORE I got started. So who is a lucky ducky!? Me!! I got a gift certificate for Manoa Nails and got to try this place this week. I just can't believe I've never been here, tucked away upstairs in Manoa is this quiet, relaxing place to get pampered. When I got there, it was very mellow and I was seated right away. The staff were friendly but not super talkative and the whole place was kind of empty on a weekday. What I noticed was that everything was very clean and orderly, which is nice. I got to meet Josey who did my nails she was a sweet local girl who really did a great job. My nails looked amazing. We were chatting about gelish polishes and different artistic designs -- for this visit I was looking for something natural looking and conservative. Josey recommended an American manicure (similar to French, but uses an off-white for tips). They were perfect! While waiting for Manoa Library to open, I wandered over to the marketplace to kill time and decided to get my nails done rather than stuff my face with an apricot almond oatcake from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Having had mixed experiences at Manoa Nail, I decided to stick with a simple manicure. At least that was the plan. Twenty-five dollars and 30 minutes later, I gazed bemusedly at my gel nail polish convinced that it would chip within the hour. It's 5 days later, and not a chip, scratch or peeling polish. This stuff is amazing! If it lasts the promised two weeks, I will be ecstatic. Gel nails are supposedly healthier than acrylic nails, dries faster and lasts longer than regular nail polish. Lots of color choices, too. Besides the typical manis and pedis, Manoa Nail also offers something called solar nails (another even longer lasting nail application) and waxing services. Of course, my nails are growing out, but with the clear-ish color near the base it's hard to tell unless you look really close. I am going back soon, this week I hope, and maybe will try a french gel mani as my friend's lasted over 3 weeks too. But the pink fade is beautiful. The times I have gotten pedicures, they are never too long or too short. I like that they ask about how you want it cut, as too much cutting is asking for trouble. I don't remember the massage but that is because my calves are sooo tight I prefer to stretch on my own, as pedi massages hurt me so I usually tell them to just go easy. So I cannot fairly comment on the quality of the massage here. The gel manicure took a reasonable amount of time, not too fast, not to slow, just right, yeah! And it's dried right away. The tech made me wash my hands right after and I was amazed it was all dry! :) The manager speaks good English and they are very courteous. Not all of the techs speak good English, but most do and they do not go on and on in conversation in other languages and I appreciate that. Also, when I needed to communicate with my tech, the manager or another tech helped with the English. I don't know my tech's name from the gel manicure day, but she was gentle and skilled with both the mani and pedi. I was very happy when I left and it was for my birthday too :) I like that I pay for my own tool kit because it insures I will get clean tools and that is very important to me. It's either 2 or 3 dollars, I forget. It's worth not getting an infection. I have trouble with ingrown nails and go to the podiatrist for that, so I appreciate that the techs didn't insist on cutting things because that's always bad news for me (pain and infection, AUWE!). I should've asked names but the woman I spoke with in the store explained colors to choose from and immediately started working on my friend's nails which turned out so good. She got a french manicure with gel on her natural nails and she loves them. The woman made sure we got what we wanted, explained how everything worked since we don't get manicures often. The lady that did my nails was also really nice and my nails came out very clean and neat. The only issue I had was I guess the glitter polish I chose didn't have much glitter so she took from around the polish container since glitter was around the side, she got a lot more on my nails but there is also dust on them too. POST-COVID REVIEW The business has put up shields at most stations and will take your temperature upon entry, BUT my nail tech did not have a shield at her station and HER NOSE WAS STICKING OUT OF HER MASK If you weren't already aware, wearing a mask is to protect others, not yourself, so that is putting the customer at risk more than yourself-- I don't appreciate that. Second of all, got BAD service from the younger bigger girl working. The worst I've ever gotten. 1. I mistakenly thought the colors that I chose were colored paint with glitter, as I chose what I thought were pink and white hues and asked for white accent nails. While she did ask me if I liked the color, when I was disappointed that I came out with two similar mismatched glitters and no color, she was VERY sassy and accusatory instead of understanding. I wasn't rude or upset, just visibly disappointed, at which point she thought it was helpful to say "that's why I asked you if you liked it. It's glitter " as she applied the top gel coat. This is due to my misunderstanding, but if it was so obvious that I was making a bad decision, I don't know why she didn't bother to educate me. Why would I choose a glitter to accent a similar glitter, especially when she heard me say the colors I was referring to? I was devastated since I was looking forward to my first mani pedi in months. It looked messy and awful and since it was gel I'd have to live with it for weeks, and she offered no solutions before sending me off. I kindly asked another worker if there were any other solutions, and she was very helpful. She understood that I wanted colored nails and suggested taking everything off and redoing it. I felt bad asking for that much rework, so I suggested just fixing the "accent" nails to have the same glitter as the rest of my nails so that we only had to fix a couple nails, even if it wasn't what I originally wanted. That worker asked my original worker to fix it, at which point began glaring at me and complaining in Vietnamese. She wrapped my nails, and then got up and walked away to sit in the back on her phone. I understand the frustration but the behavior was uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. The second woman had to step in and quickly finished my nails for me- she was very nice and helpful. 2. See pictures of my pedicure having uneven and unclean lines, and of the crooked filing I got (all from the original worker). I blamed my own nail growth and asked her to help straighten the filing. She took a couple seconds filing without fixing the problem. I'm too shame to ask a second time to fix the same problem, so crooked gel it is. 3. She wasn't communicating with me when she did my pedi. She'd just huff at me when I didn't automatically know when she wanted me to move my foot. My friend noticed and gave me a couple shocked eyebrow raises. 4. My friend and I were seated next to each other for our pedis, but seated on opposite ends of the salon for our manis even though we booked together. We came to hang out together, so was a little disappointed. I think it's worth noting that my friend LOVED Ann and was very impressed. The salon has a good color selection and great prices. Maybe the girl who I got was out of practice and cranky from being cooped up. That being said, I don't appreciate paying for her to get practice on me and being on the receiving end of her frustrations. The appointment was just as frustrating and took just as much time for me, although I was paying to be there and I wasn't mean or rude to her the way that she was to me. I've been to Manoa Nails before and loved it, but I think this girl can do better. By calling ahead a few days in advance, I have always been able to make an appointment for two or three pedis. Everyone I've taken there has been impressed with the exceptional service and the reasonable pricing. The quality and durability of their pedis is so excellent that I usually don't need to redo my paint for at least 6-8 weeks, sometimes longer. The technicians are friendly and chatty if you feel like talking but also perfectly happy if you just feel like relaxing and reading quietly or talking amongst friends. My younger daughter loves coming here because they are very nice and she loves designs she gets 5 stars for hers. But this is the second time I came here and for a pedicure with design, got the same technician and ended up with pedicure with no design.......very frustrating. This time I wanted to make sure I got a design and asked her for design she said you want flower or rhinestones, I told her I wanted something for Halloween she asked one of the other technicians and it seemed like they didn't want to do Halloween design so I told her flower is fine. Well I wasn't paying attention (looking at my phone) and the next thing you know she tells me I'm done I look at my feet and NO DESIGN AGAIN!!! I asked her where is the flower she said something to the other ladies and then they ask if I wanted flower they can put on but they already put on top coat, I said forget it. I don't know if it's a language barrier or what but I will not go to that lady again. I did tell the lady (owner) that rang me up, that this is the second time I've come here asked for a design on toes and didn't get it. She did tell me that lady does not do designs....well maybe the person who does designs should do my pedicure? My daughter was very happy with her kids mani/pedi but I was not happy with mine. Reply to owner: Josey, I saw your reply & just want to clear up some things.I've come to your salon more than 2 times and the last two times it was the same lady. Prior to the last 2 times I came I was very happy with my pedicure with design, just this lady two times I didn't get what I asked for and I didn't keep changing my mind. I asked for Halloween design,technician asked others but they were busy so I said flower is fine. The other technician came by when she was done and asked if I wanted Halloween design but I told her no need because I told Ann my technician that I'll take flower, I didn't know at the time that Ann doesn't do nail art and that the tech that asked about Halloween design was the person that would do nail art now I know it was just miscommunication. I did talk to Diana this morning and explained what happened. You folks did a 5 star job on my daughter's nails it's just my pedicure was 3 stars because I didn't get what I requested. I'll definitely be back but I will request someone that can do nail art. read more

I love this family-run business. The women who work here take great pride in their work and care about their clients. Many clients have been coming here for decades. It's peaceful and relaxing and the prices are fair. I usually get a gel mani/pedi. They also do a great job waxing eyebrows. read more
