This is way long overdue. If you want a luxury mani pedi experience with non toxic materials, this is the place for you. Excellent, quality service, cute little studio hidden away in the Velocity building. Free guest parking (although a bit limited). As an exhausted toddler working mom, this was truly a self care treatment. I think one of the previous reviews said the tip is included in the price but I confirmed with the owner that it is not included so please tip accordingly! I'm just lookin for the next opportunity to book again!! Thank you Tori!! read more

Amazing experience. I was long overdue for a pedicure and Tori took such good care of me. She's an artist! Her communication is excellent which I greatly appreciate. A big thank you to her. read more

My former nail technician stepped down from her position to support her husband's business. I tried another salon but was not happy with the result. A neighbor mentioned that she knew a technician who was chemical free and recommended her. Today I walked in with beat up feet and walked out with Queen feet! Very happy with Tori's dedication to the crafts and attentive skills. A bonus is intelligent and thoughtful conversation. So grateful to have made the connection. read more

Can't say enough good things about Miki'ao! I've been here twice and both times Tori has been meticulous -- her work is impeccable. I'm going on 2 1/2 weeks and my nails still look great! This is the place to go if you want a personalized visit, don't want to be surrounded by a ton of people and want a tech who pays attention to detail. Parking is a breeze. Can't wait to come back again! Mahalo Tori! read more

My past review still remains valid! Absolutely love the MAGIC Tori does to my nails. She's the best & so fun to talk to! Definitely follow her on IG (@mikiaostudiohi) because she posts some available appointments on her stories week to week. BTW- more great artists operate from Miki'ao Studio too! Hair, facials, & massage services. Check em out! (all businesses individually linked on the Miki'ao website so be sure to book accordingly) read more

My review is long overdue...I've gotten my nails done at Miki'ao ever since they opened...4 years ago! I've gone to nail salons ever since I was 12 years old and Miki'ao gives an experience like no other. They're truly set apart from the rest. Tori and her artists, both previous and current all have attention to detail, desire to have a relationship with you, care for the health of your nails, take their time to get perfection, and have an eye for nail art! This is my happy place! read more

Update: I've been going to see Tori now on a monthly basis for almost two years now. She's always up for a creative design and appreciates going beyond nude colors. I love that she focuses on using products that are good for my nails and hands, she doesn't judge that I'm a recovering nail-biter, and is always up for a good discussion. Photos are of my favorite designs that we've gotten to do so far! read more

My daughter treated me to a new type of mani, it's called "dry style" but it is a gel mani. The tech, I think her name was Ayumi, she did a great job! My nails are going on three weeks and still look good! I would give them a try if you want a superior service. read more

Miki'ao is an all-natural nail bar located in the Symphony Residential complex across from Blaisdell Concert Hall. The establishment uses no chemicals so don't walk in expecting the traditional blue chemical foot soak! Instead of the traditional blue bubbles and exfoliating scrub that you would commonly receive during a pedicure treatment, Tori (the owner and nail stylist at Miki'ao) avoids chemicals all together - using in leu of chemicals, a "dry treatment" via a high-tech filling machine which removes dry skin around the cuticles. Amidst a bruised runner's toe, I made a last-minute appointment, via phone call (however appointments can be made through the website; link in Yelp bio!), with Tori. Debating at whether gel or a regular pedicure would work best at hiding my purple toe, Tori helped me decide which selection would best fit my lifestyle. I ended up choosing the basic pedicure ($55) which includes cuticle care, Lomi Lomi foot massage, and nail color of choice. If I am being completely honest, I was hesitant that the high-tech filler would give a complete and thorough the treatment of my cuticles, however, I was pleasantly surprised with the results! The nail color selection is beautiful and diverse (I had a hard time deciding!). Following the cuticle treatment and massage, my toes were left feeling refreshed and achy feet light as air! Overall, I loved my experience at Miki'ao. Tori is the nicest nail stylist I have ever met! Looking forward to the next opportunity I have to treat my self to a relaxing spa day! Parking Tip: When driving down Ward, use the second turn into the symphony building to find parking for Miki'ao. You can park in any of the valet stalls after 4 pm, before 4 pm there is valet parking (price unknown as my appointment was at 5 pm). Fun Fact: Miki'ao means fingernail or claw in Hawaiian! read more

Miki'ao Nail Studio - The spread: Natural nail color selection! - Nail Salons Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I couldn't be happier with my nails from Mikiao! Tori helped me out and walked me through the whole process and was so nice. After visiting many nail salons in my life, this was my first wholly amazing experience. Because of their dry techniques and boutique style it was very clean, no chemical scents, and really cute! I got the Kumu manicure with gel nail polish and although it was a little more expensive than your regular gel nails, the quality and ambience of the service made it completely worth it. Tori has so much knowledge about nails, is so careful, and really wants to give you the best experience with your nails that she can. I can't wait to go back! read more

This review is long over due... like a year over due. Last summer I was preparing to getting married and came across Miki'ao. What caught my attention was the non-toxic products they used plus it was a small place where i would be the only one getting my nails at the moment and during the pandemic that appealed to me. I am so glad I found them! Ayumi is the best! She is nice, professional and makes the whole experience great!she very good at what she does and can do any of the nail art I've requested. I'm one that stretches my visits for as long as I can, which for me is 2 months, my polish never fades or chips. read more

Second time here. This time I opted for the gel on my toes. Tori did a fabulous job again! I was super stressed as I had a bad experience getting to the location from Waikiki. I called Tori to let her know that I was running late. She told me that they no longer offer Valet service at Velocity and that it's now self parking only. I said ok, when I arrived there was no one outside to direct me where to park. The open stalls all said Velocity Valet only so I didn't park there. There was a sign that said additional parking upstairs so I drove up only to be directed back down. I called Tori as I was extremely frustrated. She came out to make sure I got a spot. She told me that I could park in any of the stalls marked valet. Velocity still needs to change the signs. I was relieved to hear this as there were many open stalls. She walked me into the salon and offered me sparkling Perrier and within minutes I was comfy and cozy and not stressed at all. Thank you Tori for making my what started out to be a very frustrating Friday evening relaxing and calming. Tip-Now self parking enter on Kapiolani and park in stalls marked Velocity Valet only. read more

The space is beautiful, convenient and so clean. Miki'ao offers dual service so I was in and out in under 2 hours! I can't wait to return and hope others will support this local business with enthusiasm. Easy access from Kapiolani with complimentary valet. Absolutely love this place! They use non toxic products that I think has helped my nail polish stay on longer. Fantastic safe and clean nail salon. Tori provides the best quality products and service in a clean and relaxing environment. I love the nail polish she uses. Due to a scheduling conflict I had to go 5 weeks in between visits. The only flaws were self induced (!) I highly recommend Tori and Miki'ao! read more

Tori is the best! Super friendly from the minute you sit in the chair... makes you feel like you've known her forever. The gel quality is 10/10 and lasts 4+ weeks between appointments. read more

Not going back again. Nail polish started lifting off after only a week although I don't do housework or cooking or anything harsh for the nails !! So very expensive compared to other nail salons !! Parking and location so very very difficult to find and locate!! After only a week, my gel manicure ( the so- called healthy manicure) started lifting at the edges !! Gel was on so thick it looked obviously artificial and like a turtle was sitting on my nails !! HORRIBLE , EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH THE HIGH COST !! Ugliest manicure that cost a fortune !! read more

Had a great time getting my nails done here by Tori and Rami. They were super friendly and professional. And love the fact their pros it's are non-toxic. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a more natural way to get your nails done. And atmosphere is great too! read more

This place is definitely different in a good way. Booked pedicure for me and my hubby. We always bring our 3 year old daughter with us everywhere we go. So glad that you really don't smell any toxic chemical as soon as you walk in. It's definitely a plus when you have to take your little one. We definitely have their full attention during the whole appointment time because it's appointment only. Both Tori & Ram are so friendly and easy to talk to. Their online booking system is so easy to use. Once it's booked and put down your credit card info. You are all set. You can just go for your appointment without bringing your wallet. One thing I want to mention is that the tips are already included in their price list. Definitely coming back!!! read more

I am so glad I found Miki'ao Nail Bar while visiting Honolulu for a few weeks! I am VERY particular about my nails as I have had quite a few negative salon experiences... Tori utilizes a dry manicure/pedicure process which (I have found) makes my cuticles look a lot cleaner and my gel to last way longer than the traditional mani/pedi where you soak your hands and feet to the point of being soggy... Tori payed close attention to what my needs were and I couldn't be happier about how my manicure/nail art and pedicure turned out. I HIGHLY recommend Miki-ao Nail Bar if you are looking for a clean, healthy, manicure/pedicure that doesn't expose you to as many harsh chemicals, and lasts 10 times longer than the "traditional" method. 10 stars for this salon! read more

This is the best nail salon on Oahu. If I'm going to get my nails done, this is the place I'm going to go. You know that ubiquitous pink lotion found at every other nail salon on the planet? Yeah, that is definitely not used here. They use less toxic nail polish (that are at least free of the five harmful chemicals found in traditional polish) and natural, local body products from Oshan. They use an e-file to remove dead skin from your cuticles and feet and that thing works wonders. Waaaay better than the typical cheese grater. The salon is by appointment only so it isn't crowded with people. You get individualized service and actually feel pampered. This place is worth the extra money to get a better-for-you mani/pedi and an all around better, luxury experience. read more

This little nail bar was an amazing experience. I was greeted at the door for my appointment. I was walked through each step. The salon was quite and comfortable. AND had A/C (huge plus here, since some places do not). I think my favorite part is there wasn't a strong chemical smell since all of the products are safer for use. I had soo many color choices I basically flipped through the tiles the whole visit to make sure I didn't miss one. The woman who did my toes took her time shaping and trimming them -- which is my big issue with some salons leaving the nail crooked. I love this salon and will be referring people here! read more

Love this place!! Always get a great gel manicure! Pedicure is the best I've ever had. Tori is awesome!! Will come back every time I come to Hawaii!! read more

I love this place! This is exactly what Hawaii needs. I am extremely sensitive to chemicals and can't go into regular nail salons with the overpowering smell of toxic chemicals. Miki'ao Nail Bar is the perfect solution! As soon as I walked I noticed that there wasn't an overwhelming smell of chemicals. This is because they use non-toxic products. We had a great experience getting our first non-toxic mani and pedis. Everything was so clean and comfortable. I finally found a place that I can get a mani and pedi!!! I will definitely be coming back here and recommending this cute nail bar to all of my friends. Thank you for bringing this option to Hawaii! So much better than your average nail place! read more

Fantastic service and quality! Tori and Ram are always so sweet and welcoming. It's so peaceful inside of their salon. They are very selective of their products which makes me feel at ease. No product smell when you walk into the salon. They got some of the latest nail art, too! The salon is located inside of Velocity at Symphony. They have a free valet parking. I love the fact that you can make appointments online. This is my go-to place now. ;) read more

So great. Guys, don't sleep on getting some work done. This is the first time I've ever had a mani-pedi -- it was an end-of-the-school-year treat -- and it was definitely a treat! We went for the full works and it was worth every penny. My feet and hands both look and feel great, still a week after, and Tori and Ram are total pros who put us at ease despite the fact we were newbies. The shop doesn't smell like a typical strip mall salon because it isn't - there were no harsh odors and it was all organic and earth- (and customer- and expert-) friendly and healthy! We'll be back for sure. Thanks for the pampering and the fun experience! read more

What a treat! The staff at Miki'ao are super friendly and knowledgeable. These ladies are on a mission to make the world better through your feet! I'm currently pregnant with my second child and really needing the relief of a pedicure. I got one once with my first pregnancy at my typical nail salon and felt sick because of all the awful smells and I was super nervous the whole time because I was worried about what the chemicals were going to do to baby! Walking into Miki'ao and not being assaulted by smells was such a relief and knowing that they use non toxic nail polish & products and all of their treatments we're super hygienic I could actually relax! While I was doing said relaxing in my cushy chair my nail artist was giving me a really beautiful pedicure and making magic happen with my feet--I work out side a lot for my job so my feet were in awful shape. By the time she was finished they were not only beautiful but softer than they've been in (many) years (husband concurs!). On top of that I got an education on the effects of pregnancy on feet and how to better take care of them so they stay soft and happy even with my lifestyle. This is not what I'm used to at my typical salon and I love it!! I can't wait to go back- so worth it!! read more
