The first time I stopped by, I made an appointment online but I guess you're supposed to get a follow up message before your appointment is confirmed. I showed up and the time had been double booked so I ended up leaving. Cordelia texted me not long after to tell me she had an opening the following day and apologized about the mix up. I told her that was fine and rescheduled. She ended up pushing my appointment back an hour but still managed to fit me in. I showed her two inspiration photos and wanted to merge them, and Cordelia did exactly that. I'm super happy with the outcome. It took 2 hours and they normally don't do foreign fill but she was able to help me out, I definitely want to go back. She took her time and was a pleasure to converse with. The shop is very very small. About 3-4 women working, all very sweet. Neat inside and cute.
One of the most awkward nail experiences I've had. The nail tech kept pausing as she got distracted watching the TV, and wasn't really paying attention to my nails. The result was mediocre with uneven edges. I ended up filing them down myself afterward to make them look clean. I'm used to professional and skilled nail techs, so maybe my expectations were high, but I was hoping to find a go-to salon and this just wasn't it. I won't be going back.

I have been looking for good nail techs in Honolulu since I moved here and Originail lives up to everything I've been looking for! I booked with Kristen and she is the sweetest gal ever. I showed her inspo pics from a set I've done before and she totally NAILED it she totally got the vibe I was going for. I'm super indecisive so she helped give me recommendations along the way, and they came out exactly as I was hoping for All of the nail techs there are so sweet and chill, they all make you feel like they're your new BFFs. I especially love that their salon specializes in Gel X which is healthier for nails than acrylic. This was also my first time trying Gel X and I can confirm that they're just as sturdy (if not more) than acrylic. Getting Gel X was a game changer fr RUN don't walk

Graduation season! I'm graduating this year (WHOO congratulations to class of 2022!), completing one of the biggest milestone in my life! So I decided to pamper myself on my nails for the very first time ever (nail virgin). My friends also wanted to join in on this as we were all going on a trip together too! It's located in the second floor in the building behind/next to Pali Longs Drugs and Safeway. There's a huge sign that is hard to miss! There's a small parking lot with some stalls up front in the open (not covered). Since this is my first time getting my nails done, I'm a huge noob. I asked around what styles were better, what certain things are, etc. Luckily, my friend group was very knowledge in this! I decided on a soft gel extension with gel nail polish and nail art. I spoke with the owner, Helen, about different inspos and actually had Joanne who worked on my nails. The final product was beautiful (peep the pic with cat design)! Joanne did an amazing job on my nails! She consistently asked me for my input on the work before continuing on and making sure I get what I wanted. Love the work! The session took about 2.5 hours, longer than I imagined but was warned by Helen beforehand. Nice to have that info! My friends came in for a gel mani-pedi. They enjoyed their "spa" and loved the work done on their nails. Helen and Cordelia worked on their nails. The technicians at this nail salon are all very friendly and precise about the work they do! You won't be disappointed at the end of your appointment as the results are amazing. The pricing ain't too bad either. Will be back if I ever need another pampering day! P.S. There's a credit card surcharge but none for debit cards. Also, cash is usually better!

They added 2 stations downstairs in the eyelash area that was very very dirty, unorganized and very depressing painted in dark grey. Even though I booked a week in advance they seemed surprised that I was there and gave me the eye lash technician to do my new full set of gel x. After quite a long appointment of just gluing on nails and filing, two nails were crooked, and even after asking multiple times she never made my nails rounded (I reshaped them after I got home). It took 4 coats of gel polish that I can still see thru which is not what I wanted. She also did a 3-d flower on each hand that I am not happy with. I paid $85 plus tip for the service (which was my birthday present to myself) and I am sorry I went. I will not be returning and instead will go back to Lux Nails in Kaka'ako where I feel pampered and special and where it is clean!

She was very precise with shaping my nails and giving me a little more of a pointy look. I'm super happy with my nails. She understood the assignment If you're looking for a salon that does unique designs, aura colors, charms, or something simple this salon does it all. Any tech I've had for any service at Originail has been friendly, accommodating, and professional. I've always felt comfortable talking stories with the girls, it's always a fun vibe at their salon. We had friendly conversation and I found Helen to be very down to earth and relatable. She was very meticulous and did an excellent job with not only building my nails as soft gel is a tedious form of nail but also with the art work/design. i did give her a difficult design with perfect lines being required. She amazingly accomplished it free handed, no stencils or nothing. It was nice to see an artist perform so craftsmanship. If you have need for a detailed oriented artist or just a fix go see Hellen at her Chic and quaint salon. I am sure you wont be disappointed.

Loved my nails. Needed a last minute appointment before flying out for a wedding. It was easy to book an appointment on their website. They have parking spots available in the lot or street metered parking. They worked with me to curate the perfect design for my event. All the girls here do such detailed art work Every tech here is incredibly talented the level of artistry they bring to each set is honestly next level. Whether you're going for something bold and trendy or minimal and chic, they've got you covered. Everytime I bring a set thats trending the girls ALWAYS delivers. The designs are so intricate and clean--you can tell they really take their time and care about the final result. I always leave feeling like my nails are little pieces of art! read more

I want to preface this with you should make your appointment with Helen I came in at 10, but no one showed up until 11 am. My pedicure was phenomenal My fill not so much, I had a new girl working on my nails which I can understand, but I sat there for 4 hours while she was learning and trying to do my nails. During that time, someone came in with an appointment with Helen for a pedicure, got designs on her nails, and was out of there in 45 minutes. I ended up having to leave without my nails being finished because I had wasted my entire day, and didn't even get what I was asking for. The owner gave me 20% off since they didn't finish. But honestly if I could go back, instead of trying to give a new nail shop a chance, I'll just drive to the other side of the island to get my nails done with my old nail lady. The only reason I tried this place out is because we are moving off the island and are staying in Honolulu. The next day I ended up having to go to my original nail lady to get my full set redone. Save your money and time and just stick with your original nail lady. read more

I don't get my nails done often, and I like to take my time when searching for a new salon to try. I saw Originail on instagram first and was impressed by the art and the good reviews, so I booked a classic mani pedi just to see how I'd like the store, technicians, etc. I opted for normal nail polish rather than gel because I wanted something simple. The pedicure was ok, but I noticed I had a lot of skin still left on my toes but just decided to ignore it thinking maybe there's an up charge for a more detailed pedicure. At this point an hour has passed so I asked my technician how long she'd estimate my nails to take, which she replied only 30 minutes. That 30 minutes turned into 90. Someone was also waiting behind me, and decided to leave after waiting about 30 minutes. The polish is weirdly thick, which she also noticed and asked another technician for paint thinner after already painting both feet and one hand. The final look was just not what I had pictured, but I'm not confrontational so I just bit my tongue and thought of how I'm gonna fix this at home. Now writing this, 2 hours later, the polish still hasn't dried and is so thick that it's being indented. I'll have to remove it. I don't think I'll be returning, especially after sitting for so long watching an intense and graphic movie they had playing in the store, would've preferred some music. read more

I've been to many nail salons and so many technicians have claimed to be skillful and talented; I always like to trust and believe in every technician. HOWEVER, Originail has raised my standards, to the point of writing a Yelp review. Please don't underestimate this new, small business. You can tell the owner, Helen, has put a lot of thought and effort into decorating the shop. The technicians, one was a wax'er (only word i can think of lol) and Cordelia did an amazing job, going into details of the nail art. Mind you, marble/rose quartz design can be extremely difficult, but Cordelia finessed it! Also, spent the time there laughing with the girls while watching Masked Dancer/Singer. It was a good experience & I can't wait to go back! New guests recieve a 10% discount card btw, don't leave without it. read more

It's been over a year since I went to a salon to do my nails. I heard about Originail from a mutual friend, and I wanted to give it a try since the holidays are coming up. I wanted to treat my friend to some birthday nails too so we made the trip to check out the salon. I had a gel pedicure done by Joanne. She was very easy to talk to, and the quality of her work is great! Since this was my first time having gel polish, she made sure she disclosed the pricing, how the gel polish works, how to remove it, etc. I'm so excited to wear my heels to work and other occasions. I feel very put together Although I live in Waipahu, I feel like the trip to Originail was worth it as far as price, quality, and the experience. This is a new salon, but I know with time, patience, and grace, they can reach to its fullest potential. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

The worst pedicure I've ever gotten. I noticed that when the technician was working on my cuticles, she was holding the tools weirdly. She was also going so lightly with everything, I didn't feel like she was actually cleaning anything. When it came time to paint my nails, she never grabbed my toes so that she could really see what she was doing. She was also holding the nail polish brush with two fingers which also looked odd. When she was done, the coats didn't cover my whole nail - the area near the cuticle wasn't painted. I also noticed that they use a brand of nail polish I've never seen before. Despite her doing 2 coats, you could still see through to the nail - like it needed a third coat. read more

I love originail!! This is the only Nail Salon on the island that I'll go to. The staff is always so welcoming and they make you feel like family. They are generally younger nail techs, so they understand exactly what look I'm going for design wise and my nails always come out on poiiiiiint! (So good that I almost want to gate keep it, but let me not be selfish) I always get soooo many compliments on my nails. I found Tiffany (nail tech) on Instagram in July and have gone back to her twice!! She is super friendly, easy-going, and amazing at creating unique sets of nails. I didn't really know what I wanted the first time I walked in but Tiffany gave great suggestions and made sure I was comfortable with what I chose. The atmosphere in the shop is really cutesy and all the nail techs are really sweet and easy to talk to. They have their own guest parking right in front of their shop and its very easy to get to. Honestly the best nail service ever. Hitting the spot with the designs that i want and she adds her own flair to it which makes it 10x better. Of course if you want designs or extensions, be prepared to be here for about 2-3 hours. It takes time for prep and for them to precise with designs. Also, the pedicure is always a nice little add on to the service. I'm coming from Wahiawa & i think it's worth the drive. It's not deep into town and really close to the freeway. read more
