Tacos de carnitas y pollo ($1.50/each) tasted okay, but meat was dry
    Joe P.

I was in my office and a hunger pang hit. I was tired of bfast bars, the donuts from earlier in the week, and wanted to pass on the café downstairs. Manny's truck was outside, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. In addition to tacos, Manny's offers burritos, tortas, nachos and other assorted fair. I opted for a carnitas taco & chicken taco ($1.50/each). The tacos were OK. They were seasoned nicely, and they stayed warm during the elevator ride to the 5th Floor. However, the meat was dry: 3 Stars. One nice aspect is they offer fresh cucumbers & radishes on the side. I didn't see carrots & peppers, that is the norm: 3 Stars. All in all, a decent experience for a truck. However, bfast burritos are $7, that IMHO are pricey for truck food.

1/28/20 Rock on right. Half-finished burrito for scale.

If you want metal shards in your tacos or rocks in your burritos, this is a 5-star joint. Otherwise, steer clear. If you don't mind potentially dying or cracking a tooth with every bite, the food isn't bad. I've tried the super fries, carne asada and Al pastor tacos and Cali burrito. Trying to find the photo of the metal shard in the taco. Will update this review when I find it.

I don't understand why the lady taking your order is always rude! She gives attitude for anything and everything. If you didn't like your job quit! She is so annoying I try not to come here because she makes me want to just walk away. They really need to get some new help!

After we left Target, my girlfriend and I decided to try Manny's Taco food truck. We weren't that hungry. We just wanted a snack. We ordered 5 asada tacos . The meat was so delicious! They had a self serve area for you to get some onions/cilantro, limes, and the spicy/medium/mild sauces. The employee who took our order was very nice. She noticed that we were both struggling with one plate and she immediately asked if we wanted another one lol. Thanks to her we got our own plates and didn't have to stand so close to each other. Beware of the spicy red sauce! The peppers will occasionally get stuck at the ends so be careful or it's going to explode when you squeeze it out! we highly recommend this food truck. It has one of the best asada tacos I've had. We will definitely be back to try more food!

This place use to be the bees knees I ordered my usual chorizo and pastor, and the chorizo was grey and dry. The pastor was cold and chewy, smh. Disgusting.

Receipt but no info on the tacos I ordered

Do yourself a favor and never order the chili cheese fries here. You will get the worst food poisoning of your life.

This review is for the Paramount location. I got a few items: Dino rib, pork ribs, brisket, sausage, mac and cheese and corn bread. I'll start with the positives. The mac and cheese and corn bread were decent. Also they took 15 minutes to give me all the varied food I ordered which should have been my red flag to run, but I decided to live dangerously and was punished severely for it. Now on to the travesty, the meat. The theme for today was dry, old and shameless. The pork was somehow undercooked and dry. Which if you can endure the cruelty, is actually kind of impressive. The brisket resembled beef jerky. I'm including pictures of the brisket since those speak much more eloquently than I can. I love to cook and I infamously over season my dishes. But all these meats were at a whole another level. Not salty but aggressively peppery and just ham handed. The rub was flavorful but it blew out my palette instantly. Please take this to heart: less is more. In terms of meat quality? Cheap. My Dad is a butcher, I can tell. Everything being reheated did the meat quality no favors either. The seasoning was further exacerbated because the ribs, both dino and pork, were almost entirely bone. So you have a ton of seasoning on a lick of meat. It was a recipe for disaster. And price? Expensive, especially for what I received. Insulting for what I received. I'll end it here. I don't want to waste your time like this place wasted mine.

What we ordered: I ordered the Flyin' Slider Trio with Chili Zing sauce. These were fantastic! The sauce was spicy but not overpowering. The cole slaw was tasty. The chicken was hanging off the sides of the bun. They give a very generous portion. I also got the corn poppers with lemon pepper seasoning. When the menu says corn "popperS," I thought I'd get more than one. The fact that they charged $4.00 for a half ear of corn is ridiculous. I was even madder because it was delicious! It was breaded and deep fried. The breading was great and ensured that the corn wasn't oily. If the serving was two, I would feel like I kind of got my money's worth, but not one. I'd never get that again. My husband got the 10-piece wings with half garlic parm and half lemon pepper. He said the wings were big and fried to perfection. He loved them. He also got fries. They were $4.00 for a pediatric serving size. Overall, the meal was very good. The main items were worth the price, but they really charge too much for the sides considering their size. I'd go back to support them, but please hold the sides...

This spot is known as the "original home of kimchi butter" and after you try at least one of their items with it, you will know why it is so amazing. I got to try several different dishes here and I loved each one! I first tried their Mixed Plate. You can choose the Mixed Plate to be regular or spicy. I chose mine as the regular version. It comes with kimchi butter katsu chicken and kimchi butter katsu shrimp, two scoops of steamed rice and one scoop of Mac salad. The kimchi butter katsu chicken was my favorite. The katsu chicken was perfectly crisp outside and juicy inside. Both the chicken and shrimp were smothered in the famous kimchi butter, which made the mains so savory and rich. I also really loved the Mac salad. It was so creamy and comforting. Equal in deliciousness was the Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich. The same tasty and crispy katsu chicken was topped with Mac salad, creamy Kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar and placed in between two Hawaiian buns. So ono! This is now on the list of some of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I also tried their Spam Brûlée Musubi. This is a spam musubi drizzled with kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar. It was umami packed and seriously addicting. Alongside all the savory food, I got a refreshing Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade. It was the perfect pair to all the delicious food. Last but not least, I had to try their ube beignets. I love both ube and beignets and so this dessert was a true dream come true. It was so airy, pillowy and sweet. Oh Shootz! I am a fan! This spot is amazing. One thing to note is that this spot is located at the Uptown Commons in Long Beach. The seating is all located outside so all the food is takeout. Also one other thing to note is parking can be a bit tough. It's totally worth a visit though.
