Stopped by Manny's Tacos food truck in Long Beach, and was overall disappointed in the meal. I ordered the 3 for $10 fish tacos, and unfortunately they looked nothing like the photo shown on the truck. The fish was fried, rather than grilled, and missing fresh corn salsa and limes. There was also a $1 service charge for credit card. However the woman serving aguas frescas was extremely nice, and even offered samples of all the flavors before choosing which to go with. read more

A staple for many of us that live in the area. Good truck tacos and many other favorites. We stopped there for dinner after a night at the Los Alamitos races. I was in my office and a hunger pang hit. I was tired of bfast bars, the donuts from earlier in the week, and wanted to pass on the café downstairs. Manny's truck was outside, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. In addition to tacos, Manny's offers burritos, tortas, nachos and other assorted fair. I opted for a carnitas taco & chicken taco ($1.50/each). The tacos were OK. They were seasoned nicely, and they stayed warm during the elevator ride to the 5th Floor. However, the meat was dry: 3 Stars. One nice aspect is they offer fresh cucumbers & radishes on the side. I didn't see carrots & peppers, that is the norm: 3 Stars. All in all, a decent experience for a truck. However, bfast burritos are $7, that IMHO are pricey for truck food. read more

If you want metal shards in your tacos or rocks in your burritos, this is a 5-star joint. Otherwise, steer clear. Listen, I've been coming to this place since I was 18. Never in my 3 years of coming here, have my mom and I had the worst experience ever. Some lady with over bleached blonde hair was giving the worse attitude to my mom and to me. My mom was ordering and she asked if she could change something in her order. My mom tells the over bleached blonde hair lady "Instead of tacos de lengua, can I have tacos de cabeza?" The lady responded "Señora, no puede tomar una decisión?" (Lady you can't make up your mind). My mom was completely thrown off by this response and she says "I am allowed to change my order before paying. So change my order." After my mom ordered, it was my turn. I was being nice because I know how draining some days could be. I ordered, and gave her my card. The lady did what she had to do, and instead of handing my card to me , like a decent human would do, she slammed my card on the counter and quickly walked away. I was super caught off guard but I wasn't trying to cause a scene so I just grabbed my card and walked away. Once we received our order, this dry blonde hair lady with eyeliner she got at the dollar store, LITERALLY gave us our food MESSY. The tacos were turned over, the burrito looked like someone stepped on it. I was really trying not to yell at this lady so we just left. We got home, tried to enjoy our meal, but first of all, the food looked like it was pulled out of someone's a**. We have been to this truck a few times and it seems to get worse every time. The money is handled by the lady that everyone mentions is rude. If you are handling cash you should stay away from the food. The veggie cart had the plexiglass cracked and dirty. The food was old, I think they reheated the tortillas and pastor meat from the day before. ( We were one of the first to arrive) they were still setting up. The Jamaica we order was sour like it was left out awful. 3 strikes your out never returning to this place. After we left Target, my girlfriend and I decided to try Manny's Taco food truck. We weren't that hungry. We just wanted a snack. We ordered 5 asada tacos . The meat was so delicious! They had a self serve area for you to get some onions/cilantro, limes, and the spicy/medium/mild sauces. The employee who took our order was very nice. She noticed that we were both struggling with one plate and she immediately asked if we wanted another one lol. Thanks to her we got our own plates and didn't have to stand so close to each other. Beware of the spicy red sauce! The peppers will occasionally get stuck at the ends so be careful or it's going to explode when you squeeze it out! we highly recommend this food truck. It has one of the best asada tacos I've had. We will definitely be back to try more food! read more

Okay, I am a patient person, but I am never going back again. The tacos al pastor are good, and one day I asked for a quesadilla with the same al pastor in it. I guess they ONLY serve a carne asada version because that's what I got, although the lady that took my order gave me the old bobblehead nod that she got it. And it was extremely greasy. Okay, everyone's entitled to a mistake, so the next time I went there, I explained that they made a mistake and that I specifically said, I want al pastor. Again the bobblehead nod. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Serviceable and reasonable Mexican favorites. This is the closest taco truck to my office, so I find myself here a about every other week when I need a quick and convenient taco fix. I usually go for the 3 taco combo ($6); I've tried their carne asada, chicken, carnitas, chorizo and fish tacos and I'd have to say my faves are the carnitas and fish tacos. Since I've cut down on my meat consumption significantly in the past year, I do mostly the fish tacos these days. I've tried their mulitas also, which were also good. Nothing extraordinary, but perfectly A-OK, and it won't break the bank. read more

We stop by this food truck a lot right in front of Target on 33rd Street in Signal Hill for a quick bite. The workers are always friendly. The tacos are all delicious and the portions are huge especially their fish tacos. However, I have to minus one star for their burrito. For $7, my husband and I got a chicken burrito to share. The food is amazing. Good prices and nice customer service. Shrimp tacos are amazing and it's got a nice little taco bar sitting out front.

I ordered a burrito and after taking one bite my mouth, tongue and face was on fire! I tried taking a second one just in case to be sure... and yup, it was super spicy! Why assume a customer wants the super spicy sauce? At least put mild in the burrito and let the customer add the spicy one themself. SMH, complete waste of money! read more

The shrimp tacos are fire. Three plump shrimp on top of shredded cabbage, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. The creamy salsa beneath is savory and spicy--just flavorful. Just well composed. I also appreciate the squash blossom quesadillas--it maybe a little too cheesy for me. It's so cheesy that the blossoms get a little lost--but the texture is surprisingly meaty. I am a taco person (next to izakaya, pizza, drinks, food, food...) Came here a couple nights ago while doing a late run with M and so it is my first time here. The tortillas are not dipped in oil first so they don't assume that stuck together mouth feel. I like that because you can double the tacos but then again, the tortillas are not as moist and are much dryer from that effect. On our receipt: 1 pollo 2 pastor 3 carne Meat was very filling. Now I see why they offer the onion & cilantro on the side, there is hardly much room for them much less the extra bits of meat falling out. They use less oil to cook their meat - my digestive understands that. Green sauce is spicy for me - fun! 1.50 a taco and maybe its the area, at least no tax added. read more

This was a very feeling torta for $10 and had a lot going on with it. This sandwich included pastor pork, ham, asada, beef franks, cheese, a fried egg, avocado, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, and beans. Most loaded torta I've ever had and despite all of its ingredients, each flavor of the meats were present. On a side note, the Frank's were the least enjoyable part of the meal. Had they been roasted, it would have been a lot better. I also think if hot links or sausages were to replace the franks, that would definitely boost this up a notch. What's in the image I posted is only half of the torta so it is a big portion and is well worth the $10. Give this food truck a try if you're ever on the cross streets of Cherry and Artesia. We've been loyal customers to this taco truck for over a year now. We literally drive from Whittier to still come to this place, but they completely disappointed us today when we called in an order, had a family member pick it up, coming to find out they gave us the wrong order, driving all the way back to return the food in order to get a refund, and then being told that we HAVE to be CHARGED for a burrito we NO LONGER WANTED. They FORCED US to buy something we did not want. It was the worst customer service I have ever seen, and I work in the food/beverage industry.
