Really good taco truck with quick service and solid food. The area might look a little sketchy, but that's usually how you know it's going to be good. Food was delicious and really fast. Ambience is nice and not too busy because they service quick. $1 Tacos Tuesday and Wednesday for pastor only but you can't beat that anywhere in Long Beach when every other spot is $1.50. They're pretty good tacos and if you tag them on your story you get a free drink which they honored for us we got an Horchata. Overall $22 for 10 Pastor tacos and 1 asada burrito w cheese is a good deal. Would recommend! I don't think it's El Sapo - Truck anymore. It's still a truck but not it's called ; @Tacos_elsantoniño. Whenever I come back home to LB, I always make sure to come visit Tacos El Sapo. Without a doubt, some of best tacos you're gonna find out here. They offer a wide selection, but most importantly, they offer trompo style pastor and a salsa bar. The employees are friendly and offer a quick bite to take home or eat next to their truck. I always bring new friends here or meet old ones here as it's open late and can serve a long line fast. The pastor taco tuesdays are a must! There could be some improvements such as better chopped or washed onions. I know they offer grilled onions, but when I do, i feel like they give me a little. The cabeza and lengua can get pretty dry at times, but i get it if it's a late night and there isnt many people ordering it to make more. read more

Located on SW corner of PCH and Atlantic, open pretty much everyday after 6pm to midnight. Very simple menu: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and mulitas, choose your meat. They do have an indoor trompo for the pastor. We ordered tacos with asada and pastor, and both meats were flavorful and void of much gristle (chopped to the perfect consistency for tacos). Tacos are $1.80 a piece now, and the tacos are regular street size (not oversized as I read in some review). The are generous with the meat, but at the end of the day, I was still pretty hungry after devouring 4 tacos. I also ordered 1asada mulita ($3.00) to take back. There was no pineapple piece for the pastor, and because it was indoors, no open flame causing that smokey char with pineapple that can elevate pastor to a different place. Wouldn't come here just for the pastor. This is a food truck parked at a service station. The front does have 3 different salsas (I love the use of restaurant dispensers here...keeps everything cleaner and allows you to put the perfect amount). They have a large topping bar (cilantro, sliced onion mix, diced onions, quartered limes, radishes, and cucumbers.) that was VERY fresh. There isn't much parking available here (maybe 6 spots), and the sitting area is just some stools (no tables) to encourage you to be on your way. The tacos did come out pretty fast. All in all, probably in the bottom half of taco trucks that I've eaten at in LA....but that is still good enough to grade it with 4 stars. read more

Came here during the late hours and I can say this is one of the best tacos I've had in all of SoCal. Authentic tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are the only items you'll find here and that's all you need. The workers were friendly and amazing, the man who took my order looked so happy to be there. The tacos and quesadillas are well cooked and come out in an instant, not dry at all and filling in so many ways. There is also various sides such as onions and salsa verde available. I might be a little obsessed with these tacos... My first time here was Valentine's Day right after getting off a plane from LAX. It was almost midnight and I was craving tacos before heading home. My bf mentioned this place and I've been in love with them ever since! We got 8 tacos and 2 pineapple drinks for $12! What a bargain! One of the cooks let me try the buche since I never had it before and he prepped it like a taco for free! It was good but I stuck to the pastor and asada. My bf, on the other hand, loved it and got it along with the lengua. Okay YOOO the condiments table!! So the red and green sauce is already fire, you add the guac sauce and it's just *chef's kiss* exquisite! Now if you're a fan of heat and spice, add the habanero pickled onions and you will not regret it. All the flavors in your mouth just combining, my mouth is just salivating as I type about it. It def has a kick from the habanero that's why it's a must to get the pineapple drink ($1 only!) I've been here three times in the past 10 days... Rating 5.0 TLDR: Best late night tacos I have EVER had. If you're in Long Beach, or willing to make the trip, get the tacos here. You won't be disappointed. This place is what you imagine authentic tacos are: the smell, the ambiance, the taste, LETS GOOOO!!!!! I dreams of these tacos. Ngl. Not TLDR: They asked me where I wanted to eat after the concert. "I want tacos." I told them. "Okay, there's a couple here, we just passed a few more, they told me. I responded, "NO. I want the most authentic street night tacos this side of LA county". This side being Long Beach of course :), and Tacos El Sapo fufilled that craving. You want authentic Mexican tacos, come here. After so many "touch of the divine", "moment of bliss", "hint of eternity" type of reviews I was genuinely looking forward to something special. So I was genuinely disappointed to discover that my tacos were a perfectly routine, run of the mill, nothing special affair. The carne asada was missing that cooked over charcoal flavor that makes it so delicious. The al pastor in the chorizo were nearly indistinguishable. The al pastor was missing any of the complexity that makes al pastor so amazing and the chorizo was missing any of the crispiness that makes it such a joy. The service was friendly and the salsas were great and I'm happy for all the people who found this place to be so amazing. But I think if they tried a few more taco places they might change their tune. Either that or I happen to go on exactly the wrong night. read more

Love their Crispy Tripas Burrito and their Cabeza tacos. They do accept Apple Pay, card, and cash. Parking is a bit hard sometimes but plenty of street parking with a little walk. Their horchatas are only $1 and delicious. Highly recommend this place if you're going to pick any taco truck, you might as well come here. It's affordable and fulfilling. read more

Love their tacos! Their quesadillas are even more amazing. We love coming here during the weekend and always look forward to their friendly fast service. Our favorite tacos are the asada, pastor, & chorizo. Ask for everything on it and make sure they give you the grilled onion & chili pepper! I believe this place is only here on weekends around 6 or 7pm. I went to this place because I was so excited to have a taco truck in Long Beach. To be honest, there is not that many of them here, and all the restaurants close super early, especially for a night owl like me. So, I was super happy and excited to have a place like this close to my house. This place is between atlantic and pch, in front of a mechanic shop. However, there is no parking at this location you are more likely going to park on the street or the nearby residential neighborhood. The lines was pretty long but the service is decently fast because they only serve tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. They have a self serve salsa station with all the fixings: cilantro, onion, cucumbers, and radishes. They also have these like green kid size tables and chairs for people to eat and sit on, but there is not that many, so most just take it to go. Now, the food. The food was okay I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, because my expectations of taco trucks around here are low. Side note, the food truck has an A letter grade from the health food inspection department. The food of tacos around long beach are usually sub bar but this one is way better than them. Not the best, but good enough for me to come back when i just need some food to hold me over. With 6 tacos and 1 burrito, it came out to 12.50. My only concern that there is no price shown on the truck so that s concerning to me since they can change the price however and whenever they feel like it. Back to the food, the burrito was a decent size, the meat had a little bit of fat and slightly burnt, but it didn't bother me that much. The tacos are really tiny too, but the flavor is there. Overall, I recommend coming here if you're in the area and need a little snack or dinner when everything else is closed. read more

The flavors in the al pastor taco all work together in perfect harmony! I love to visit this taco truck for a quick bite. There's usually a line but the food comes out extremely fast so the wait isn't too long. I've had their tacos and burritos. I usually get about 4-6 of the carne asada and al pastor tacos. The al pastor is absolutely DIVINE! It literally melts in your mouth. Not to be dramatic but there's seriously a few seconds of complete serenity with each bite! You can taste every note of the homemade corn tortilla, the perfectly marinated and slow cooked pork and the splash of lime, onions, cilantro and salsa (green salsa only for me!). I'm a little sad that they aren't always parked at the PCH location (in front of the tire shop after hours). They need a storefront ASAP! read more

Tacos were great and their red and green sauce is a amazing they aren't stingy with it either. They have a mini bar outside the truck where you can get your own salsa, onions , limes and cucumbers. They also have this kixture if onions, Serrano pepper and habanero has a topping if you like spicy food. read more

This is the best taco truck in Long Beach so far. Been to other and it's was ok but this stop is the bomb. And their sauce I like it better then the rest as well. My favorite meat was cabeza, tripas and lengua but I haven't try the rest yet. And pretty cheap for a taco. 1.25 each and don't forget to ask for their grill onions and jalapeños. read more

After standing in line for about 10 minutes, I could sense excitement building in the air as the line inched forward. As I observed the scene, I couldn't help but feel the buzz of anticipation surrounding me.. The flavors of sweet marinated pork and fresh pineapple have a way of dancing on your palate. As far as parking goes, you can usually find street parking, there's a parking lot, and there's also parking behind the restaurant. I will say the neighborhood is a little sketchy, but if you're local, it's really not a big deal. If you're coming from outside the city and aren't familiar with the area, I'd recommend just dining inside. There's a lot of homeless and liquor store activities across the street. The other problem was the portion of the consomé size, which was way too small. The best thing was the grilled onions and consomé because you literally can't possibly fk that up. Although the consomé was a bit too gravy-like, and thick which considering the quality of everything else...was off putting. Ambiance felt fast paced, cramped parking, and a little dirty from being dated but it also had a fun, casual nightlife vibe. The service was fast and kind. They answered questions quick and politely without rushing us out of line. We had really high hopes for this place. This was not a first time either, we tried these guys years ago but even then it was mid. Now it just confirmed it. I noticed this truck at the Target plaza on Bloomfield a few times now and decided to try them tonight. As with most businesses, they have an IG page that might let you know where they will be next. I tried a bit of everything: suadero (meat from the breast bone), al pastor (marinated pork) pollo, lengua, cabeza, buche, carne asada. Very tasty meats. Everything was very tender and each street taco was filled to overflowing. Quick takeout service plus convenience of paying by Venmo or Zelle! The condiments are laid out for you to pack. Included cucumbers, cilantro mixed with chopped white onions, sliced radishes and lime wedges. Loved the shredded red onions with shavings of more hot peppers on the food. Let me tell you as a friend: the salsas range from oh that's spicy to my mouth is on fire and my eyes and nose are watering! The creamy green sauce was the mildest but still had a kick, then the roasted tomatillo was a notch higher in heat, followed by an exponential increase in the red pepper sauce with sub-atomic heat; then what I thought was sriracha mayo turned quickly to be nuclear in my mouth!! I'm usually okay with spice but I found myself washing out my mouth at the sink then reaching for yogurt just to calm the fire down! Very courteous man took the orders while his companions made the food in the truck. Also had horchata available.
