    Pancakes & salad

I was super excited to go here as a bunch of my Toronto friends said it's a great brunch spot. You needed a reservation just to get a table and they were turning down walk-in. But I'll be the first to say it was kinda overhyped. Our coffees took eons to arrive. The acoustic kinda sucked. You can hear everything the table beside you is talking about. The portions were super small. We ordered a starter & a main but left kinda hungry. Even though the "vibes" are cool and it's in a cool area of town I wouldn't come back here.

There are plenty of great food options on Ossington Avenue but Manita caught our eye with its quaint corner storefront. Inside, it's a pretty tight squeeze as each table was within shoulders apart, but it gave a nice homey vibe with its brick walls and warm interior. The service was quick and pleasant. We got there during brunch hours and got the smoked trout tartine and shakshuka. The smoked trout spread topped with onion, cilantro, and dill was packed with creamy fish flavor and the crunch of the tartine bread brought such great texture and rounded flavor. The shakshuka was the perfect morsel bite with the acidity of the tomato combined with the smoothness of the egg paired amazingly well with the buttery toast. Honestly one of the most perfect bites I've ever popped in my mouth. Definitely would love to try their lunch and dinner menus, as this is a true gem in the food area.

A nice brunch spot on Ossington. Came here on a Saturday for brunch and it was pretty packed, try to make a reservation if possible! Ordered the BLT (24) which came with a heap full of fries. The sandwich is also stacked high with tons of bacon. It was quite good. I kinda wish the plates were a bit bigger given how much food they're cramming onto the plate. Yeah, not sure what else to say, its a BLT, done well, with tons of thin cut fries. Great vibes in there, nice place!

Updated review: Since my first review of Manita 2 years ago I have been able to dine at Manita several times. The casual eatery is also a bar, café, and grocery all in one. The chill and intimate vibes of this place is great for a solo meal, catching up with friends, or a date. Their breakfast sandwich and ham croquettes are must gets - oh so delicious! Their coffees are also great and made well. I recently was able to dine at Manita for dinner and as expected, everything was delicious. That oxtail marmalade was truly delightful - unique and something I've never had before. The mustard and pickles that accompanied the dish cut through the richness of the oxtail marmalade. The bread (I assume from Blackbird Baking Co.) was the perfect vessel to eat the oxtail. We also had the Manita burger as well as the spicy vodka rigatoni. The rigatoni was simple yet delicious. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce coated each rigatoni well. The burger was good and came with a large pile of fries, which were addicting to eat. Service wise, can be a bit slow but the servers are friendly. Overall, love going to Manita! Check it out when you get a chance!

I've heard amazing things about Manita and finally decided to stop in for brunch. Upon arriving around noon on a Saturday the place was packed! I was dining solo so I was able to grab a seat within a few minutes indoors, but larger parties behind me were quoted about a 30-minute wait. What I got: - Croque Madame (Gruyere Cheese, Dijon Mornay Sauce, Parision Ham, Fried Egg, Salad, Cornichon) Final Thoughts: Manita definitely lived up to the hype! The Croque Madame was a large portion and piled high with ham on a crispy piece of toast and the egg on top had the perfect cooked but still runny consistency. The salad had a vinegarette and alongside the pickles helped cut through the richness of the sandwich. The tables were pretty close together and the wait for your food was a bit long, but well worth the wait in my opinion. This is definitely a sit-and-enjoy type of restaurant and not a quick bite. I'll be back to try to famous Manita burger and fries, but I'd highly recommend this spot for brunch!

I was super excited to try Manita, but after my overpriced and overly SOPPING wet eggplant sandwich I am super excited to literally never return. I had a similar sandwich at Sanremo's like a month ago and it was my favourite thing ever (as a vegetarian who love a good Sando) yeah this literally was the worst heartbreak I could've felt Also the weird painting on the wall for some reason was making me nauseous, it looks like a salad fingers skin sore or something

If you're looking for a delicious and healthy meal, then the Mediterranean Plate at Manita is definitely worth a try. This dish is a perfect combination of fresh vegetables, flavorful dips, and soft-boiled eggs, all of which come together to create a satisfying and flavorful meal. The dish comes with a variety of dips and spreads, including hummus and tzatziki. The vegetables are fresh and crisp, and include cucumbers and peppers, which add a refreshing and tangy flavor to the dish. We also ordered a side salmon and latte which were a great compliment to the meal in addition to the free bread. The portion size is generous, and the service at the restaurant is friendly and attentive. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or just looking for a delicious and healthy meal, be sure to give the Mediterranean Plate at Manita a try.

LOVE MANITA BRUNCH. Burger and club sandwich always hit...especially with the delicious fries. The oxtail marmalade was really nice too. It was different and a great addition to our meal. But please, just get the fries. I would come here just for a plate of them. GO GET THEM

Finally went to Manita for brunch - overall great experience! The food was delicious. The eggs were soft scrambled, amazing local toast and tasty bacon. The interior is cute - we sat at the bar which was fun. Staff were relatively friendly and service was quick once we got seated. My only complaint is that they don't have a traditional breakfast plate - unfortunately, you need to pay extra for toast (which is ridiculous) and bacon. It ended up being quite pricey, but at least it tasted good! My friend who has celiac had the gluten-free bread, which she said was one of the best GF breads she's ever tasted.

I decided to try Manita's after hearing so much about it on social media, but I was a little disappointed. The atmosphere was great, I really liked the cozy feel, however the food was just okay. We started with the smoked trout dip, and had the meatballs and braised oxtail for our main entree. The dip was tasty, but I'd prefer it to be served with crackers rather than potato chips. The meatballs were a little dry and oxtail a little salty. The service was mediocre, not the most friendly server and had to stop him to take our order. I'd probably come back for a morning coffee but I wouldn't go back for the dining experience.

This restaurant had a relaxed chill atmosphere, great for an evening out with some friends. It is located on Toronto's Ossington strip with plenty to do in the area. The restaurant is rather tiny so I would recommend making a reservation in advance. The food was good and service was very friendly.

Stopped by for brunch this past weekend. I ordered the eggplant sandwich and my friend got the turkey club. Overall delicious sandwiches although a bit pricey at the $22-26 price point. But the fries were generously piled on! Overall service was okay and atmosphere was pleasant.

Manita is a testament to the maxim 'great things come in small packages'. A slender corridor perched against Royal Street, this cafe/bar/specialty grocer brings us as close to Europe as anyone can get these days. Cafe tables seem to extend into the street, introducing a more everyday liveliness to a corner I generally associate with pounding bass and slurred sentences. Manita manages its offerings as brilliantly as it manages its space. I want to place the menu near France, but it's not just French. Alongside moules frites is a falafel sandwich I have yet to try but hear is amazing. That recommendation came from Ian, one of three Manita partners. "If you haven't tried the burger yet though, you should get that." I tried to goad my girlfriend into ordering the falafel so we could cover all bases, but she was committed to eggs. This is the best burger I've ever had. Since devouring it, I've exhausted a good deal of energy mining my memory for a time a burger has come remotely close to making me feel like the burger at Manita's did, and I've come up completely dry. I don't know what they do to their cheese to make it what it is. I'm not sure what masked hero of a bakery is responsible for those buns. God knows what sort of oblation chef Colin Tooke left at an altar to get a recipe that good. I swear the most firm parts of the burger were the deliciously sweet pickle slices cradled inside the gooey decadence they call a cheeseburger. You need to experience this. This burger tastes like all your aspirations achieved. As I tried to come to terms with how mind-bending the bite I had in my mouth was, I overheard someone at another table: "Is it just me, or is this falafel insanely good?" Something to look forward to I guess. Thank you Ian, Sam, and Colin for helping justify the high cost of rent in the area. And my girlfriend loved her eggs.

I've been to Grape Witches several times but I was able to sit down at their wine bar this time and enjoy a wine flight (three 1oz pours featuring wines from Germany) and a glass of wine. Having the wine flight, I was able to find a new rose that I really enjoyed that I ended up getting a glass of it afterwards. Staff are extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about wine where they can give you suggestions based on your preferences without being pretentious. You are also able to taste any wines you're interested in on the menu to see if you like them as well. Will definitely be back to try other glasses of wine in the future!

This must be the place!…read more Our first trip to Toronto and boy did we have fun. From delicious food to sipping wine, and everything in between, Toronto was a city to explore. Ladybug Wine Bar is a cute but also sophisticated wine bar located on King Street, steps away from shopping and restaurants. We stopped in here on a snowy Sunday before our flight home. They also serve Sunday Brunch. We grabbed a few open seats at the comfy bar. They do not offer wine flights, which made this experience pretty darn expensive but SOOOO worth it. We had such a fun time and the people working were so nice, we honeslty did not want to leave. They were willing to help with our selections. We actually ordered all their Reds by the glass. I know, but there were only about 6 and we had to try them all. I like to say "go big or go home" LOL! We loved almost all except for maybe a few. We ended up also ordering a charcuterie while we sip. And of course I brought a bottle home with me. If you are ever in Toronto, please check out Ladybug wine bar, it is fantastic, you won't want to leave. Cheers!

Service was nice and the place was cozy/bright. Highly recommend this spot for a girls' brunch or casual date.
