We dined in and had: - Fench Toast: Chunky, well caramelized as it was not overly sweet, and had a nutty taste to it. - Cinnamon Bun: Chewy with a tastily perfect glaze that may have overpowered the cinnamon. - Flat White: Standard good. Seriously everything about this place is 5 star. Firstly décor is so lovely, You can see they've paid attention to so much detail. The food is excellent we had lamb mest balls which had a delicious sauce, So rich. I had the zucchini feathers lightly battered n nice crunch. My friends had the mushroom Burger and the steak and the chicken and they were all very happy with their meals. Then there were the desserts chocolate, or banana Pastry so delicious. And the banana dessert! The molten chocolate cake was just too rich for me but the rest of the family gobbled it up. We grabbed weekend brunch at the Aviator. I understand that they've only been serving it for about the last month. They've also only been open for about three months. It's a welcome addition to the Danforth. The food was really very tasty. I had eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had smoked salmon on Rosti and he enjoyed it very much. The decor is light and modern. Servers are friendly, although when busy can be a little slow. My husband had coffee and I had tea. The tea service was a bit odd. Hot water in a glass mug with the bag in. They came and asked me much later about whether not I wanted any more water but you really can't leave a teabag out of a cup for that long without steeping so it really didn't work. I would suggest to them that if they're going to serve tea that they somehow invest in some little pots for it. Other than that pretty good experience and we will definitely be back. It looks like their dinner menu has both small plates and larger plates, with great variety on it. Do check it out if you're in the area. FYI, the music is old world and not intrusive. We loved it. I came here for brunch with a friend a few weekends ago. This is such a bright and beautifully designed space. The meals we ordered (basic breakfast) were hearty and filling and more elevated than your standard breakfast spot. The coffee was also bottomless and delicious. The server was attentive and we didn't feel rushed as we lingered for quite a bit longer than our meal. One suggestion would be for them to carry a house-made or better hot sauce than tabasco! Would be a one-star, but I've added a star for being fully accessible--bathrooms, automatic doors, everything. Too rare in this city. My partner called this "gentrification cuisine". Basically, a mess of trends, clashing flavours, and too-small portions (except the fried chicken; pleasant surprise, solid 8/10). Pricing was all over the place; like, a generous meal of fried chicken for $18, but a single overcooked tentacle of octopus for $24? I'm not stupid, I realize octopus costs more than chicken, but I've had better octopus in better quantities at better restaurants for the same price or less. This place also seems to bill itself as a place to drink wine, but the wine list is pretty much what you'd find anywhere. The decor is sterile, feels like you're in a furniture catalogue. And the service was honestly terrible. Our server, a young man, was slow, forgetful, moderately rude, seemed confused about every single thing. $100 for what, exactly? read more

This restaurant was excellent in many ways. At our brunch the service was friendly and efficient. The dishes we had at the table were wonderful. The shrimp in my club was tender and succulent. The eggs and bacon were served with potato latkes and the Benedict eggs got rave reviews. The ambiance was modern but warm and the washrooms used excellent fixtures. High marks!! AVIATOR came to my attention by way of recommendation of a trusted friend (thank you Rev. N. C.). I have eaten at this Danforth establishment many times for dinner and brunch. I have never offered to nor written a restaurant review; this time I felt compelled. AVIATOR is not: * close to my home, I happily drive the 45 minutes to eat here. AVIATOR is: * has a great vibe that you sense as soon as you walk in the door, the atmosphere is a buzz: but not intrusive. * serious thought has been given to the meals: from the first bite you are already planning your next visit and thinking who you will bring with you simply because they must try this place! * Plates are contemporary and well designed in presentation so that when mine are placed in front of me a spontaneous "ohhhh" snuck out and so worthy prior to the salivation going on in my mouth. * Plenty of room so you aren't listening in on the next table's conversation. * staff are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful from the moment you are seated and comfortable (shout out to Verity, Alex and Matthew), * the design is clean lines with unobstructed views of the entire restaurant and the kitchen is behind a glass wall. I love to see what's going on in the kitchen. * a beautiful design visually. But what you do not see is that it is 100% accessible. Each thoughtful addition allows all your friends and family to come and experience the gourmet fare. Navigating by wheelchair or walker is a breeze from the sidewalk on Danforth Ave., through the entire restaurant and to the AODA approved washrooms. To my absolute pleasure there are very few indicators (beside the door push button at the front) that alerts you a completely accessible environment. This is a true rarity. * Worthy of 100% marks for food, staffing, accessibility and design. AVIATOR deserves your attention and at least one try. You will be back. read more

Three of us walked in around 9pm on a summer Wednesday and were seated promptly in a mostly empty, but beautiful room. Service was crisp and pleasant. Menus came and we selected all apps just to taste what they had going. It was disappointing. Of the 4 starters, only the wings shone. The charcuterie platter was oddly and clumsily served w mediocre cheese and pre-sliced salami.. maybe a shard of prosciutto? Stale papadam was the "bread" and obviously unusable in this setting. Pickled stuff was nice, but there was no alternative to the papadam. Silly. Shrimp were limp and confused in a tomato-greens reduction that didn't add up. The others were a mix of app and small plates. With a $60+ wine, we left with a $160.00 bill. Beautiful spot though. Would love to see some more, but it would take some changes to get me there. read more

The issue I have with this place are the prices. For example. A 9oz class of Kim Crawford rose is $20. So it costs them .67 a glass and they sell it for 2.25 a glass one 9 oz glass is more then the entire bottle. It's one thing to make money where you can. It's another to rip off your customers. The food was just ok. The service is the only reason it gets 2 stars. The owners were lovely. Hey are just pricing themselves out of the hood and the food was not good enough to justify it. I have only been there once because People in the hood don't speak well of it. I won't go again. And. Is too bad. Nice place and nice owners. But that's where it ends. read more

Stopped in for dinner a couple of nights ago. The decor is beautiful and the prices are decent but the noise was overwhelming. Loud to the point where when each member of our party arrived it was the first thing they commented on. I would rate the food a 3.5/5 based on what I ordered. The appetizers were good as well as the dessert, but the mussels I ordered for my main course were overly fishy tasting, chewy, and some were even gritty. When this was brought to the attention of the waiter he kindly took it off our bill. I don't think I would go back for dinner just based on the noise but I would try the weekend brunch. read more
