    Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich
    Yoland E.

The focaccia of the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich is arguably the softest and fluffiest bread I have ever consumed. Otherwise, pretty neat joint with reasonable prices and nice ambiance.

    Baileys and pistachio cheesecake

Went there for after diner desserts. They have a lot of cake options including cheesecake options. Me and my friend tried 2 different cheesecake flavors : baileys and pistachio. They were both really good. You could really taste the Baileys flavor in the Baileys one. I don't know if there's alcohol or not in it. The pistachio was a really good cheesecake too. However, I think that there was very little pistachio flavor. It tasted more like a classic delicious Philadelphia cheesecake with small bits of pistachio in it. I would definitely come back to try more of their cakes. This place also has brunch and lunch and diner options. You can seat wherever you want and you have to go to the counter to order.

    It's a diner on Bloor.

Your map of regular diners in To should include Future. In among trendier bars and resto's, they still have the $2 student specials like a massive plate of mashed potatoes with gravy that you won't find anywhere else. Basic cafeteria style service where you have to watch everyone else to figure out, but once you get it, chow down and move along. They even have an AYCE perogie night which is kind of fantastic if you are in the mood for carbs loaded with more carbs. The dining area is spacious enough and if you are eating solo it is a great spot to meld into the background scenery (70s style wood) and din. Nobody will judge at Future. I had the breakfast which was eggs benny with ham, nothing fancy, just like To personified.

    This meaty chili is b*mb!

In A Nutshell: -Future Bistro has some very, very good chili. -Seriously, I'm writing this entire review about their meaty chili. -It doesn't look like anything special when you order it, but as soon as you take a bite, you're like, "WOW". Overall, come here order the chili and get the Space Invader IPA to wash it all down.

Future Bistro is a downtown student favourite...the food is cheap, served cafeteria style, and the service is friendly. The restaurant doesn't aspire to be anything fancy (...and it's not), but it's a perfectly acceptable place to grab a quick basic bite for a low price. The tables could use a little TLC as many of them are quite wobbly (like, your coffee will spill out of its cup wobbly). ------------------- Follow me on Instagram @yamisohungry for more!

3 stars seems right... Has the potential for 5. Interior needs modernization (floors, setup). Chicken schnitzel is decent, better in surrounding area. More chicken, less breading. Perfect corner location in busy annex.

Caesar salad with garlic bread + egg benedict

Good prices, big portions, mediocre food. Cesar salad was plain, little dressing had to ask for more, garlic bread with it was good! Eggs benny was okay, hollandaise sauce did not have much flavour but home fries were great!

Overall: Not too bad, worth a try Price: Decent for breakfast and some meals. CAKEs/DESSERTS ARE TOO PRICEY Portion: not too bad. decent portion Taste: nothing spectacular, your average cafe/restaurant Service: its okay, they don't really serve you, you order then Sit then get your food then eat then but plates in the bin Venue: cute, cozy, people are with their partners or some people by themselves doing work. Been coming here for a while, they have student specials on week days too which I like.

humble and amazing eatery , everything there is what you get everywhere but the taste, the quality , the price and the people are exceptional here ! i go here all the time and recommend all

If you enjoy mediocre half-assed cooking then this is the place for you! Tonight's dish was: Burnt dry Schnitzel Tasteless, flavourless chickpea salad Lumpy, cold mashed potatoes. The cutlery was dirty - a perfect pairing for the dumpy atmosphere. The wait staff doesn't care about much of anything and I'm generally confused why this place was so crowded. The food is overpriced and disappointing. Very underwhelming. Booo.

    Congealed coffee residue.

A lot of times when we try a sweet shop/pastry place the products are filled with sugar however Asters have found a balance and know how to prepare their stuff. Pastries: If you like chocolate - try the double chocolate cake (it's in the picture, I don't recall the correct name) this is chocolaty, not too sweet, soft but not too soft. If you like mousse, & pistachios - try the pastry on the right from the picture. It is crunchy from the outside, 2nd layer is soft (mousse) and the last layer is nuts/pistachio. If you like Mango (desis you must try this) have their mango sweet which is not in the picture but it's their best seller. It is amazing! Drinks: The mango matcha - again if you like mango, & matcha have this you won't regret it. Mix it properly and enjoy the distinct flavours of both (matcha and mango) it is slightly on a sweeter side though. The barista seems experienced based on the milk texture and the art of the latte. Kudos They have limited dining space so take note of that however there is a huge foodcourt so you can go there. You should also take note of the prices on the pastries, the small double chocolate cake was 10$ however it is clear that they are serving good quality stuff.

For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. Eugénie is an unexpected marriage of textures, with a crunchy biscuit, a melting heart and a crunchy chocolate coating. This Union Station location is only a kiosk, rather than a full patisserie. It opened in Oct 2024. They thought they were only going to be there until Feb 2025, but as of 2025-06-23, they are still there. It is opposite Union Samples. Pandesal, cake slices, coffee, cookies, cheesecakes, and a small select option of savoury food as well. For baked goods I walked out with: - Ube cheesecake: it was moist, Ube packed flavour with a hint of creaminess from the cheese. Enjoyed it. And read good reviews about it prior to ordering it so that's why I chose it :) - Ube crinkle cookies: a basic Ube crinkle cookie, not too sweet (which is great) and powdered with sugar on the outside. Ube flavour is mild not too overpowering, moist and fluffy cookie. Would recommend as well! - Spicy chicken empanada- buttery crust, soft and falls apart because the crust is so buttery!! Stuffing was generous, chicken flavourful but I didn't find the inside spicy. One is enough for one sitting. I would like to try other flavours as well. Service - friendly. Fast. Efficient. $$- I would say some of the items are quite pricey for what you get e.g. turon for $5, cake + coffee slice for $10-12, I think that I've found other bakeries to be a little more cost friendly. But assuming because this one is more franchised, Perhaps why prices are higher (?) Would overall recommend this place especially if you'd like to share Filipino sweets culture/food. They do sell cakes and party platters of desserts which is also a bonus. Would recommend to try!
