Stopped in for the first time to try a bagel sandwich (egg & cheese on an everything bagel with side of honey almond cream cheese) and it was vey good! Love that they put the everything topping on both the bottom and top of the bagel! GENIUS! Why doesn't every bagel place do that? My husband enjoyed his French toast bagel sandwich as well! I really wanted to love this place, but... the bagels tastes frozen bagels sprinkled with your choice of toppings. They were crowded when I went and seating was limited. The line was long and service was very slow. They have a big menu with a nice selection, but it might big too many items for them to execute well. The staff were friendly and helpful, but at the end of the day it was the name that drew me in with high expectations for a delicious house made bagel. Came here twice during my family and I's visit to Williamsburg. This was near our hotel and a super convenient non-sit down breakfast place. This is a chain, so it is not a local place, but nonetheless it was still really good! They definitely get busy, but it appeared that they do replenish the bagels throughout the morning. The inside is reminiscent of a deli, nothing too special, very laid back environment. It is kept pretty clean. The service is attentive and friendly. They were working very hard to keep up with the many incoming orders! The first visit, my mom and I both got the Avocado egg white sandwiches. I wanted mine on asiago, but they were sold out of those at the moment, so I opted for the cheddar bagel instead. Although shortly after I completed by order fresh, piping hot asiago bagels came out. My mom got hers on a honey-wheat bagel. The sandwich consisted of grilled egg whites, avocado, tomato, spinach, and roasted tomato spread. I added turkey bacon to this for an uncharge. This was decent, the avocado could have been riper. The sandwich was kinda bland, the bagel didn't carry a strong cheddar taste, as I was hoping for. The added turkey bacon definitely added some more to the sandwich, would recommend doing that! This was still a decent, light, healthy option though. The next visit I ordered the Santa Fe Egg White. This sandwich consisted of a thintastic asaigo bagel (I opted for a regular asiago bagel instead), grilled egg whites, turkey sausage, cheddar, and a roasted tomato salsa & jalepeno salsa cream cheese. I liked this one much more than the avocado, a lot heartier. The cream cheese added a nice, creamy kick to the sandwich. It complimented the sharpness of the asiago bagel and the cheddar cheese. The turkey sausage was really yummy with the egg whites as well! My mom ordered the nova lox on pumpernickel, my dad got the seasonal smokehouse brisket egg sandwich, and then my sister got the classic croissant sandwich. They all also enjoyed their meals! Overall, I thought this was a solid bagel place. I don't know how authentic they were, but they certainly hit the spot! The inside was family friendly and very chill. While the service was as efficient as possible, especially considering how busy it was getting. All our bagels were freshly made to order. The bagels were very yummy, I would check it out if you need a quick breakfast while in the area. read more

Very popping spot! My bagel sandwich was great and my husband liked his salmon as well.. I loved the pepper cream cheese, very tasty. The inside had several tables to sit; and the bathrooms were clean with a changing table which I appreciate. Manhattan bagel is a great alternative to your big box chain bagel/ pastry/ sandwich places. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and if you're there on the right morning you'll catch their staff talking about the Yankees game, which only adds to the traditional New York deli atmosphere. Their selection of bagels is diverse and there's something for everyone. Every bagel comes with more than enough cream cheese and their sandwiches don't lack either. My go to is the Nova Lox. Today I happened to get it on a croissant which if you can tell from the picture is flaky and amazing on its own. If you go on the weekends they have a small selection of oven fresh baked pasties which are to die for and sell out quickly. If you get your bagels to go they offer dog friendly bagels as well. I've had the chai tea both hot and iced, and while it's nothing overly special, it's comparable to competitors. The coffee is okay, but again, I'm coming there for the food. Overall a great breakfast lunch spot, and you will definitely leave satisfied. read more

I finally found a bagel shop in Virginia that makes rye bagels! Thankfully, they do boil and bake their bagels which is requirement number 1. The guy at the counter didn't speak English all that well unfortunately. But I had a sandwich on whole wheat everything with sausage egg and cheese. Pretty good little bagel shop. All the ingredients seemed to be fresh and despite being pretty busy, the place was clean. They were out of several of the bagels by 9:30 so recommend going early for the best selection. The order process was a little shaky but we eventually got through it. We tried a turkey and cheese bagel, a nova lox bagel and a chocolate muffin. The muffin was good but more cake than muffin but still good. Also pretty quick once the order was in so if you are looking for a quick breakfast on the go give it a try. One more note, the app attached to the store was not working and would not allow any orders until the following day and said the store was closed. Don't trust the app. read more

She also got a pumpkin muffin, which tasted like the sort of thing that one might buy at a gas station: very artificial and not at all tasty. This is the third time that we've tried Manhattan Bagel, and it has been lackluster each time. But this time, the food was barely edible. My bagel was boring. I asked for it to be toasted and I think they just threw it in the microwave, I know they didn't but you get the point. However, it does not exempt you from ridicule. For the price I paid I am disappointed. However the service was great and to the point. Friendly and fast, clean environment. but again I would have rather waited 2 more minutes for a toasted bagel. That is literally equivalent to serving a warm slice of pizza instead of letting it toast the bottom. Decent chain store bagels with plenty of options. The bagels are not NY-perfect, but this is a chain that survives even in NYC so even though I wish the bagels were fresher, hotter, and had a nice crispy outside, they are still acceptable. Wish they had rainbow bagel and funfetti cream cheese for the kids. But they DO have bialys, salt bagels, and egg bagels, so we're still mostly good. Not good enough to satisfy the craving for a fresh NY/NJ bagel shop bagel, but good enough to quiet it down a bit for a while anyway. read more

I am still on the hunt for the perfect bagel in Hampton Roads. This place isn't bad, but it isn't super either. Stopped in to order a bagel and pick up a dozen as well to freeze for later. They had pretty standard offerings - basic, wheat, blueberry, onion, etc. I had a wheat bagel with cream cheese. They put on a LOT of cream cheese, which worked for me since I dig that, but even as a classic "over-cheeser" it was a bit much. When I ordered my dozen to go, I was a bit put off that several of the bagels were "special" and couldn't be added to the dozen without additional up-charges. That's pretty lame, especially if you're just adding one or two to your order. The bagel texture is more the classic New England boiled style, so not the light and fluffy I've been looking for. Overall, it's not bad if you dig that sort of style. read more

Came here after looking for a quick breakfast before hitting the road after our vacation in Williamsburg. We ended up ordering the Avocado Veggie and the Sante Fe/Southwestern bagels. I ended up getting no tomato and cucumber on my veggie bagel and opted to add turkey bacon and it was delicious! The cashier at the front was really kind and patient with us while we browsed the menu since it was our first time trying this place. We also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie and it was delicious. The restaurant itself is kind of messy and feels dirty. We came right after breakfast rush so I'm sure they didn't have time to clean up much but most of the tables were sticky and had old food residue on them. We would definitely be back to try more of the items on the menu. read more
