I've only had their Pad Thai and their Yellow Curry and both are really good. Well seasoned and very generous on making it as spicy as you want it. I do have one complaint though which warrants knocking off two stars and that's the fact that they charge you $1.50 for extra rice. They serve you thing huge dish of curry and maybe one medium scoop of rice which is not nearly enough for the curry given to you. Rice is cheap! I find it insulting to the customers that they would charge for extra rice. I guarantee they make more profit on drinks alone to make up any potential loss on profits on extra rice. Hopefully they will fix this. read more

I've been eating here for quite a few years and during the scamdemic I was worried when I asked if they thought they were going to make it and they weren't sure. Happily it looks like they're doing OK business has been brisk every time I've walked in to eat or to pick up an order. You haven't lived until you've tried their pineapple fried rice or their panang curry! I just wish they were open Sunday. read more

Plenty of parking, comfortable atmosphere, and reasonable prices. The edamame is delicious, which we always get for our appetizer. I usually get the Vegetable party or the Swimming angel. The flavors are amazing, the food comes out fast and it's delicious. My boyfriend gets everything, but his favorites are The Swimming Angel and Basil Fried Rice. The restaurant is a bit understaffed, but they are in the process of hiring. I personally haven't had any difficulties or complaints with this place. My boyfriend, who goes once a week for work lunch, has complained twice of not receiving refills, but only with the one waiter. You can chose your own spice level, up to five. The 5 is definitely up there with the spiciest of things, and 3 is tongue-tingling. The people are very nice and the food is good, I love going here. Lunch comes with a bite size egg roll, small side salad, and soup. read more

OMGracious! I REALLY REALLY REALLY love this place! In fact, I love it so much.. I'm going back tonight with a group of friends BABY!! :) The place is family owned and the owner/chef is Thai, so it's a given that he knows what real Thai Food tastes like. I rec the papaya salad (if you want real thai, you got to request for them to make it in the special thai sauce, mmmm mmm mmmmmm), tiger cry, pla lad prik (yum yummmm), tom yum soup, laab salad, and mango tree spicy sea bass!!! I'm very new to this area and LOVE any type of Asian cuisine, so my boyfriend and I had to give this place a whirl. Keep in mind, I'm very particular about Thai food especially, and my opinion of a Thai place is always dependent upon their Panang Curry (my favorite Thai dish.) When we arrived, it was around 9pm on a Friday. The place is rather small, and it was PACKED. There was literally one table open! It seemed that there were only two servers, and they both looked completely swamped. Our waitress cleaned off the one open table and sat us. She took our drink order quickly (they serve beer!) It took quite some time for her to return with the drinks, by which time we had decided on our order. We started with the curry puffs (Thai take on samosas) and decided to share two entrees- Pad Kee Mao with shrimp and Panang Curry with chicken. The curry puffs arrived fairly quickly. They were fresh and hot and OH, SO GOOD. The sweet sauce they served them with made them irresistable. We had a serving of four large puffs and ate them ALL. And it's a good thing we did, because it took another 30 minutes to get our meal. We waited a VERY long time for our dinner. Even considering the business of the restaurant (which had slowed down considerably from the time we were seated), it was exceptionally slow. It was already late and we were ready to go home. It was a little frustrating to wait so long to eat. When our entrees finally arrived, we dug into the Pad Kee Mao first- it was GREAT. I absolutely loved this dish, everything was very fresh and the shrimp (which I had reservations about ordering) were delicious. Serving size was on the small side, but I think it would be adequate for one person eating this dish. I definitely wished there was more, though! :) When we started to serve ourselves the panang curry, we noticed that it, too, came with shrimp. We had specifically ordered it with chicken, and neither of us very much wanted another shrimp dish. We waited a good 10 minutes until we were able to flag down our waitress and point out the error. She looked as if she wasn't sure what to do and then offered to bring us a bowl of chicken, and said "I won't charge you." WELL NO SHIT YOU WON'T CHARGE US! You messed up our order! We both hesitated as this did not seem a viable solution for us (we're not asshole diners or super-picky people, and everyone makes mistakes- we just didn't expect the answer she gave.) Finally she offered to take it back and have another batch made, which we agreed was what we'd like done. The second time around our entree came out much more quickly. It was VERY good. I am a fan of this place simply because of their panang curry! We ordered both dishes 4/5 spicy, but the panag was MUCH spicier than the noodle dish, which we thought was weird. Still, it was amazingly good and I took our leftovers home. After we cleaned our plates, we waited at least another 15 minutes before flagging someone down to get our check. Overall, the service here was dismal, though I do cut them some slack for being so busy. The food was excellent, and they DO deliver, so perhaps my future experiences with Mango Tree will be through their delivery driver! :) read more

Trusting the reviews, I visited for lunch while traveling in the area. I'm not sure how this place has ever earned 4 stars in the past. Service was poor, I'm generally willing to accept this if the food makes up for it. That was certainly not the case. The miso soup tasted like straight water, absolutely no miso flavor. The "salad" came on a little plate and consisted of what I would see on my taco at Taco Bell: very cheap shredded iceberg lettuce. This was surprising to me. Next, I tried their "fresh veggie rolls" GUESS WHAT it was filled with?! Yep.... The same cheap, flavorless salad with one tiny shrimp, virtually no vermicelli noodles you would find in a tradition roll like this. I can't adequately explain how bad these "fresh" veggie rolls were. My main course was green curry chicken.... Except, there was 3 bites worth of chicken, I'm not exaggerating. The vegetables were not fresh, except for the red peppers ironically as if that was going to mask the rest of the dish. Seriously, frozen green beans in my curry? I won't be back. TLDR; stay away. read more

We were on our way to a little local fav spot but they so were so packed we thought we would try this place out and so glad we did! Some of the best Thai food in town. You can order it extra spicy which a lot of Thai places don't even give you that option. I had the yellow curry with chicken and loved loved LOVED it. My boyfriend had the garlic beef and broccoli and I couldn't decide which dish I liked better. The atmosphere/decor is pretty terrible, don't go here looking for any sort of ambience. The servers were a little slow with the tea/water. I will be back! read more

My hubby and I have been skeptical of Thai food ever since we moved here from Seattle. The Thai food up there is so good we just couldn't find anything comparable here! Well, NO MORE! This place has *really* tasty food. Everything we ate was awesome. We had the fried cheese roll (can't remember the name of it) for an appetizer and it was good (not excellent). It was a crispy egg roll type with cream cheese in the middle and you dip it in a sweet chili sauce. Worth trying once but probably won't order it again. Let's move on the entree. Y-U-M! I ordered the Garlic Chicken, 3 stars was almost the perfect amount of spice, I probably could have gone up to 3.5 stars. I had them leave off the carrots and add cilantro and it was oh so tasty. My hubbalicious had the Ka Pao Basil Beef and he loved it as well, 3 stars and he could also have gone up a little. I would say it's true to spice, 3 was pleasantly spicy but it never hit me like wow, that's hot. Just perfect as a mid-level spice should be. The jasmine sticky rice that came with the entree's (in the shape of a heart) was really great dipped in the delicious sauce on my garlic chicken. We did have to wait for a table for about 5-10 minutes when we got there (almost 9pm on a Friday night), not because they were all full but because they were all dirty. They apparently had a full restaurant and not enough staff to clean up after the bulk of the people left. Our waitress tried her hardest though and it didn't bother us too much. After we got our food it was totally fine because it was so worth the wait! Can't wait to go back! read more

I was very impressed with this restaurant. Being new to the 'burbs, I've been disappointed with the many 'watered down' international food places--leaving out critical ingredients, and lacking the traditional heat and flavor. This was not the case with Mango Tree! I loved that they had spice numbers for most dishes. For my Pad Thai I requested 3 as did my boyfriend for the Red Thai Curry. I loved both dishes! There were layers of intense flavors with both. I have two minor complaints: they didn't have any chili garlic sauce, only sriracha and chili oil, and they were short handed. Our poor server was running around trying to tend to too many tables. Fortunately, the food was so great, we didn't need much from her, just an iced tea refill and the check. We will be back soon! I want to try their soft shell crab. read more

This place used to be pretty dang good! Unfortunately, it's gone down hill over the past couple years and I no longer frequent this establishment. It's watered down, greasy, and they use cheap meats and fishy shrimp. Too bad! It's way over-priced for what it is too. read more

I was excited to try a new Thai place but left sad. The menu states that the manager will try to accommodate dietary restrictions, but when I asked what I could order that was gluten-free the waitress had no idea and didn't even try to help me find ONE item on the menu I could eat and she explicitly told me that no one there knew what was gluten-free. I had to just order the mango & sweet rice and coconut milk ice cream and eat that because they wouldn't put any effort into helping me. Not the heartiest lunch but at least I got to eat I guess. In the end I ordered Thai tea and the two deserts. The Thai tea was decent. The coconut milk ice cream and mango & sweet rice plate were both amazing! If I was able to find out what real food I could eat instead of just having to order deserts I probably would give this place a much better score. Unfortunately, I'll probably never return due to the staff's lack of trying to help me. *When I was leaving I asked for the owner's contact information. I explained why and the woman I asked explained to me that she could tell me what was gluten-free and made a snarky comment that implied I should have asked her. She refused to give me the owner's contact information and did not return to the table to take my to-go order that she suggested I make since she had let me know what was gluten-free. As I was walking up to the front I asked our server how she could let me not order real food since the other woman could have told us what was safe and she blatantly lied to my face, saying that the other woman had just arrived. In reality they had both been there since I got there. Bad service, lying, and not giving out the owner's contact info = no return and 1 star. read more

Went here for lunch this week and was quite happy. The lunch specials are a great deal, and plenty of food, in fact I took half home and my husband had it for lunch the next day. I had the basil fried rice and asked for it Thai hot. The rice could have used more basil, but they are not joking about their spice! I have been to plenty of Thai places that seem not to know what Thai hot means, but not here! I may be even dial it down a notch when I go back, and I will be back. read more

Shrimp Tempura - 3/5 Thai Garlic (shrimp) - 3/5 Pad See Eew (shrimp/chicken) - 4/5 This wasn't my first time here and I'll definitely come again if I want Thai food on this side of town! One of the best Thai restaurants on this side of town! Has the authentic taste to Thai food. I love the green curry here! The lunch special is a good deal - you get soup, a very delicious salad, and a dumpling with your meal. They're friendly to groups (take reservations, push tables together, split checks) but the food doesn't come out all at the same time, in fact not even close so be prepared toss your manners (and sometimes friendships) aside. I would give a 3.5 stars, but since hipsters cannot do fractions then Yelp uses whole numbers only! This weekend, my sweetie and I were down in the big scary land of Houston, when a hunger struck like no other before it. Upon contemplating our options in the Northern Lands, we ventured to the jasmine field that is Mango Tree Thai Bistro. We had never ventured into this particular kingdom, though we had visited many like it in our past quests. We threw caution to the wind, grabbed our lances and rode out upon the damp streets. Upon arriving, we were instantly recognized as royalty and given the corner seat. We were shown a menu of all their wares, and told we could choose what we desired within reason. We started with familiar tastes, the fresh spring rolls stuffed with tofu. What a pleasant surprise, the rolls were not mealy or starchy, and felt freshly made. The peanut sauce, while providing a nuttiness, lacked the spicy undertones that we are accustomed to. For our feasting pleasure, we then moved on to larger dishes. I attempted a mango chicken, which turned out to be a variation of orange chicken with pieces of mango in it. The sauce, which was an interesting idea, just didn't come together for me. It was not nearly spicy enough, and needed a bit more stewing. My fair maiden's pad thai was fair, and again lacking of spice. I understand the environs that this kingdom exists in, and the relentless struggle they have to fend off the demons of chain restaurant hell that live in the Northern Lands, but they must be true to themselves and serve the foods at more expected spice levels. I would try it again, but would gladly ask for more spicy dishes. read more

I love spicy food and Mango Tree provides 5 levels of it. Level 4 for papaya salad totally hits the spot, specially when they have a combo where it's served with sticky rice and grilled beef. The papaya salad mix includes green beans, tomatoes, and peanuts. All are must haves for me as each provides a different texture that absorbs the dressing differently. The dressing is fish sauce based ( I'm afraid no restaurant will ever use shrimp paste which tastes better but stinks so much more). During lunch your combo also includes a soup, side salad, and 1 eggroll. They are nice munchies while you wait and won't fill you up enough to ruin your main meal. For dessert I like getting their Thai Tea to go. Though this is not the best I've ever had it's still better than most of similar genre around the area, providing a good balance of price, portion, taste/spice, and service. read more

We had the basil duck and the mango tree volcano. The basil duck was ok, it had good flavor but I still like the one at Thai gourmet better just because it comes with bits of crispy duck skin. The mango tree volcano on the other side was pretty good, lots of veggies and good amount of meat. I liked that they had multiple spice levels and when they mean spicy, they really mean spicy. We also tried the coconut milk ice cream with sweet rice, that was delicious, I'd definitely recommend it. I'll come back to try other menu items when I'm in the area again. read more
