The Best red curry! I had level 3 spice and it was perfect for me. I like it to almost make me feel like my head is on fire. The curry consistency was perfect, so creamy but not too thick. Our family loves this place the food is great, haven't had a bad dish yet. They let you choose your spice level and there are times a 4/5 kicks my butt and times I don't feel it. The drunken noodle is by far my favorite and my wife loves the pineapple fried rice. Even our daughter is a fan and their steamed rice noodles (side) and salted edamame. Portion size is good, it's never too busy either. The only thing I can even complain about is the smaller parking lot can make it tough at times but it's worth the hassle. read more

Finally decided to come in for dinner with the family after passing by the place so many times everytime we go to Houston Outlets. Looks like a family owned restauraunt, the decor can use some new updates and changes. But what matters is the food, right? Wait time was a bit long for the food, not going to lie. Drunken noodle was really good, as expected. You really can't go wrong with getting drunken noodles at any Thai restaurants, at least in my opinion. But the one that really blew me away was the crab fried rice! I've had my first Thai crab fried rice back in Virginia and that was had a lasting impression on me but this one takes it up another notch. Crabmeat was plentiful, and the seasoning of everything together just made it taste so deliciously wonderful! The other main dish we ordered was the duck. Wouldn't recommend that one. It was the most expensive and yet had the smallest portion and didn't taste as well as we had hoped. Another disappointment were the drinks...I always am excited to get either the Thai Coffee or Tea whenever I go to Thai restaurants but they made the drink a little too watery and sweet. Dessert was good, I got the custard with coconut sticky rice. Texture was interesting and wasn't too sweet overall. Plus I've never had this before-- only in the og mango combo. read more

The pad kee mao consisted of really wide noodles which doesn't seem like they type of noodle that is typically used in this dish, but I didn't really mind it. This was my first time ever coming here and the food was amazing! The service was great and the food was great.

We were in the area and wanted to try this place. It's super tiny. It's got about 10 tables - a lot of booth style seating but clean and neat. The lone server/cashier had little words and quietly took our order. The Husband ordered soup? And I ordered the Pad Thai. Both dishes with tofu. Both "medium" heat. My pad Thai was sad. It seemed to be a cross between pad Thai and teriyaki flavored noodles. Kinda sweet? Not offensive but somehow not quite right. The tofu was suuuuper deep fried and extremely rubbery. It was so bad I picked them all out of my dish. The husband's soup was merely okay. Usually loaded with veg but this seemed a bit lacking. His tofu was less offensive but was soaked in soup broth so...it regained some of its moisture? Disappointing place. And kind of pricey for the sad food. read more

I don't write reviews often but I have ordered multiple times from this restaurant (just incase it's not just bad on one occasion). Both times, the pad thai has been extremely dry even when i request extra sauce. The pad see ew noodles are cooked in huge sheets - I have to cut it up at home for my daughter to eat it. The meats are dry as well. Utensils are never included eventhough I requested it - not even a single fork for a $70+ order. The chicken wing order always miss the sweet chili sauce. Fantastic Thai food I usually get the massaman curry but any of the curries are excellent. Tom kha gai soup is great. Spice level is hot as normal so be careful on spice level. I've been to Up Thai three times now and I I plan to keep coming back! The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is very nice even though it's a tiny restaurant. I've ordered Pad See Ew (sorry about spelling), pad Kee mao, chicken pad Thai, the calamari appetizer, the dumpling soup, the spicy basil dish, and the Tom Yum chicken soup. Each dish is delicious in it's own way but I'd have to say the calamari, pad Kee mao and pad see ew are their best items! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review is because of how sugary their Thai coffee was and the fact that they do not have a changing table for our babies. We will be back soon! read more

We eat at Up Thai a LOT! Excellent food and kind service with a no frills atmosphere - just how we like it. For awhile we would get the same dish each time, but we've managed try some new new dishes that have become our favorites too - never disappointed! My favorites are the Yellow Curry, Pad Prik Khing, Panang Curry, and of course the Pad Thai! My husband enjoys the Pineapple curry and Massaman Curry. The lunch specials are a great deal with a salad (yummy peanut dressing!!) and spring roll, though we tend to prefer dinner portions for leftovers. The young man who's responsible for service does an excellent job. He has a fantastic memory and remembers what we like. I've seen it with other regular customers too who have a "usual". Impressive. He's also given us some great recommendations which keeps growing my list of favorite dishes. There's another gal who runs service sometimes and she does great also. My wife I and haven't been to this place since it first opened. Our experience on the first time wasn't great; we waited a long time to be seated, and when the food came, the waiter at the time spilled one of the dishes all over me... lol now, but not at the time it happened since I was covered in curry sauce. Today we wanted to give it a try once again, so we went here for lunch. The place wasn't busy so it was in no time getting seated. We decide to make it easy and order off the lunch menu (see lunch menu pic) posted on the table. All dishes were $9.50 and $1 more if we added protein. Music (jazz) was playing making a good atmosphere as we waited for dishes to come out. I ordered 2 dishes and choose one with salad and the other with soup. Let me start with the soup - it had some ground chicken, mushroom, and cabbage, it was a little bland. The salads had too much peanut dressing, which left a paste in our mouths as my wife described it. Green chicken curry served with rice and a veggie egg roll - the broth was a little thin (watery) but it didn't lack the flavor. Drunken noodle was good, It had the right charred chicken and noodles which makes the dish. My wife had the traditional chicken pad thai- the rice noodles were a little different from other Thai places we've eaten at, nevertheless, she was content with the dish. Overall I gave it 3.5. We may try it for dinner to see if the dishes are made any different. read more
