I'm constantly on the search for authentic fermented fish sauce papaya salad. This place has a papaya salad but it's not the one I was looking. I decided not to get it when they said they don't have sticky rice to eat with the papaya salad. The fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls were both served with the same sweet and sour sauce which I thought was odd. We shared a pad Thai that was good. Kind of had a store bought sauce vibe but we enjoyed it... until we found a thick black hair . My daughter caught it on the bite she was about to put into her mouth . We told them right away but of course the food was almost gone so they gave us 50% off. Which is fine. The food was already below what I expect to pay anywhere else. That said it's obvious they're cutting corners to keep the prices down and you get what you pay for, I guess. We ordered the mango sticky rice dessert it was good, avg. my daughter said the Thai tea was the same. Probably won't be back b/ I'm a Thai food snob but worth a try for a cheap Thai meal. Great experience here at Anothai Cuisine! The food was absolutely delicious with great flavors. The whole fried tilapia fish was so crunchy and great with the three different sauces. They had deep fried basil and peppers which tasted great with the crunchy fish. I would say it's the specialty dish for this restaurant. As for the pad kee mao and green curry they were flavorful and tasted good with all the veggies. We got the medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all. So would recommend increasing the spice level if you enjoy spice. The server was so sweet and attentive when filling our waters. The only downside to the restaurant was the restroom. Stopped by for lunch. Attentive and fast service, clean restaurant, and plenty of tables. I tried the Panang Curry (beef with potato & curry stew). I really enjoyed the curry, beef was cooked well, and the curry itself was very flavorful. My only negative is that the potatoes were barely cooked (left most of them on the plate). This thai restaurant is in a decent location near the hospital, but the food was just average for me. Their spicy levels (5 of them) are not really all that spicy. The temperature of the restaurant was just overly cold on a chilly night. Not sure if their heater was broken the night I visited or what, but when you have to purchase and place parabolic space heaters next to your customers tables (indoors), you know there is a problem. I visited during a weekday dinner and chose papaya salad (level 4 spicy), pad kra pow (beef) level 3 spicy, and a Thai tea. The papaya salad was pretty standard, but a little unique because it also comes with 2 grilled shrimp on a skewer. The pad kra pow was nothing special as it was pretty standard and had substantial slices of tender beef, your normal basil and bell peppers, but no diced fresh peppers. The Thai tea is a good deal because it is pretty large. This is about 24 oz in a fancy tall glass, but it is super sweet! The restrooms were pretty disappointing as the soap wasn't working, the paper towel dispenser was stuck and not dispensing the towels, and the interior was just overall bad....it desperately needed attention. This is my favorite place to get spicy basil fried rice! I have no idea what they put in it to make it taste so good. I never switch up my order because it always knocks it out of the park for me. I usually get medium spice and it makes my nose run lol I come here more for lunch and they always give an included starter of a soup and a fried spring roll for an appetizer. Came in around lunch time on a weekday. The restaurant was nearly empty so we were sat down quickly and the service was fast. Our server started us off with a complimentary soup and fried spring roll. The flavor of the soup was really good and the spring roll was decent. My friend and I both ordered beef pad thais. My dish was good, my only gripe was that it was still pretty darn spicy for it being mild spice level. My friends was the highest spice level and I'd say they were pretty similar in spice. I ordered takeout--peanut sauce chicken with 14 ounces of extra peanut sauce added, which was a $7 addition. I checked the order before leaving and discovered the peanut sauce was maybe 2 ounces. It was definitely not the 14 that I paid for, so I went back in the restaurant to get them to correct things. When they returned the container to me, it had maybe 10 ounces of peanut sauce in it. The employee told me that the kitchen said they had filled it up and that when it was returned to them approximately 3 minutes later, it somehow had less sauce in it. Essentially, they were calling me a liar. I have no idea what I could have done with the sauce that was takeout and had only been in my possession for 3 whopping minutes, but nonetheless, I was apparently a liar. I have been dining here for years. Their food is always delicious and their vegetables are amazingly fresh. My issue is not with the food, but rather, with the individual who called me a liar. I doubt I will return. Before leaving this review, I called the restaurant and asked that the manager return my call. I also told them the nature of my call. I gave it 24 hours and when I did not receive a call from them, I decided to proceed with the review. I guess they don't need my business after all. Both the set of rolls were served with sauces and julienned carrots n cabbage. The spring rolls were hot as took my bite, and noticed the smoke n steam. They tasted delish. The soft rolls were also very good and the peanut sauce was an added bonus. I really like the jasmine tea. They told me which tea bags they used and I plan on ordering it from Amazon. I visited this restaurant for lunch for my first time this week. It's lcated in a nice strip center on FM1960 that has two other popular eateries. Ordering from the lunch menu, I chose the Poormans noodles with chicken as the protein for about $10. First to arrive was a complimentary cup of chicken soup and a spring roll given during lunch only. Both were good but the chicken pieces in the soup were a little tough. About 10 minutes later my entree arrived. It had stir fried egg noodles, egg, corn, broccoli and carrots in a brown sauce. I had asked for their 2nd lowest spice level and honestly couldn't taste any spice at all. It was a good meal though and with the appetizer was a filling meal. I think my favorite part were the noodles. Table service during the meal was very good. I'm surprised I haven't done a review for this location. I've pretty much been to all of their locations. They are some of the best Thai spots you will find in the northwest side of Houston. Food: I normally get pad Thai lunch special (only eat it there. Pad Thai is never good to go, from any Thai restaurant for that matter), thai cashew nut, pineapple fried rice, ano thai fried rice and red curry. They are all very tasty. Also how could I forget the orange chicken. Out of all of those dishes I think the Thai cashew nut is probably my favorite dish. Never had a bad meal from any of their locations. Some locations make the tom yum soup better than others. The fried spring roll is pretty good. Usually top notch service and really good food at a great price. They must be doing doing. I saw a big S550 AMG with the license plate ano thai the other day lol. I am glad to know that me patronizing them over the years have allowed for such a nice car. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon. The place was nicely decorated and lots on natural light which I love. The server was polite and helpful in making recommendations. There were a number of halal options which was great I ordered the Thai dumplings and the Tom Yum soup. I did not enjoy the dumplings, they were not a standard dumpling shape which was fine but the consistency crumbly with a mix of shrimp and chicken on the center and it did not seem fresh. The sauce that accompanied was a thick salty sauce that I didn't enjoy either. The soup was a little better but also was lacking in flavor and on the salty side. Anothai cuisine is right next to Mario's Tacos and Burgers and conveniently located on 1960 and Steepletop. The glass windows lining the front gives a very classy, sophisticated atmosphere. It opens up to a traditional Thai restaurant feel. We tried the pad Thai (with beef), the green curry chicken, pineapple fried rice, chicken satay, and beef skewers. Out of the two meats, the chicken satay was the best although it was good, not great. And the beef skewers were a bit over cooked and was a bit chewy. The flavor of the beef was on point. When mixed with the hot chili spice It definitely was a winning combination. Pineapple fried rice was typical, but the pineapples were sour and not at all fresh. The pad Thai was good. Green curry was by far our favorite, the curry had amazing depth of taste, spice, and boldness. My mom brought home chicken yellow curry for me once with potatoes and carrots and chicken in it. The potatoes were definitely hard and needed to be cooked through a little more. It came with white rice. The next time I took my friend with me and we ordered chicken pad thai and tom yum soup with shrimp and their ice cream dessert. Everything was super flavorful and not crazy spicy (my friend cant handle spicey food at all). We both loved the ice cream dessert, very refreshing for the end of a meal of something heavy. The dumplings reminds me of dim sum dumplings except with a weird flavor and a teriyaki-like soy sauce dipping. I would not order again. Shrimp pineapple curry- so creamy and delicious! The pineapple, bell pepper, and basil gives the curry great flavor. I was skeptical to order this but I'm glad I did. It was still great the next day for lunch. Yellow curry- unlike the other curry, the yellow was not very creamy and more curdled. The potatoes were still hard and uncooked. Served with a ton of onion slices which takes over the entire dish. I'll pass this curry up next time. Pad kee Mao (flat rice noodles)- served with bell pepper, tomatoes, and basil in chili garlic sauce. This dish was great and probably my go to dish for future visits. Medium spice level was too spicy for me. Let me just start of by saying I have found my new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Thai restaurant!! Came here with my mom and were thoroughly impressed with how great the quality and freshness of the food was! We ordered papaya salad, beef skewers, shrimp pad thai, spicy catfish, and the shrimp green curry. We loved the brightness of the lime dressing and the of crunch the papaya salad! Then next came the beef skewers which were so PACKED full of flavor, it was grilled perfectly and had a nice touch of sweetness from its marinade. Now for the shrimp pad Thai: OMG. SOO GOOD. The dish came to our table fresh off the stove and was cooked perfectly--the shrimp, noodles, everything! Usually I am not a fan of pad Thai as the other Thai places I've been to had odd tasting flavors, over or undercooked noodles, and overcooked shrimp, BUT AT ANOTHAI HOWEVER, the whole dish was PHENOMENAL. The shrimp was cooked so perfectly to the point where the meat was still juicy and tender and packed full of FRESH flavor. And trust me, I know this because I come from a family of seafood farmers and I KNOW what good, fresh seafood is!! We tried this location last week. In general, the food was well seasoned but the meats were all poor and cheap quality. The shrimp was all overcooked in all of the dishes that we ordered with shrimp and it was not deveined so that was a major turn off. The beef in the pad kee mow was very stringy and tough.. The individual on the phone was okay, however I asked for light ice in my Thai tea because I hate watered down drinks, when I was given my beverage it had light ice but was 3 quarters full...I asked why it wasn't filled more and the worker said it's 12 ounces. I could have took a moment to give feedback or even give pushback... just realized it will be better to not spend my money at a place who charges almost $4 for a drink that's not even full and does not include refills. I'll start by saying Thai food was not my first choice at this plaza but my husband insisted. So we tried it and here is my review. We had the poorman noodle, deep fried tilapia special and the pad thai noodle. Poor man was veggies and noodles and was creamy but it was very flavorful! That's what my daughter had and she loved it, I tried it and loved it ! The deep fried tilapia was so crispy but tender in the inside. It came with three sauces and some crunchy green leaves but you didn't need to dip the fish into any of the sauces because it was so flavorful on its own. Just be mindful you might get some tiny fish bones but it's expected. The pad Thai something very different for us was in a red sauce, it was noodles with bean sprouts and chicken. I have no idea what's up with the low rating. This place is GOOOD. I frequent Thai places for two reasons: Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai (I know, I'm basic, but those dishes are literally so good to me, why would I ever need to order anything else?) It came with peanuts on the side, and bean sprouts. Bean sprouts were also mixed in with the noodles- and I love bean sprouts so that was a beautiful thing. It also had green onions, which is also a plus. The carrots I could have done without, but thankfully those are on the side too. I think what really made these things stick out was the spice level. I'm a freak. At places that rate 1-5, I'm the psychopath that gets a 7. But I got the Thai spicy (4) and was super pleasantly surprised that they dont wimp out on the spice.
