Ginger chicken.
Nadia M.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Food is delicious, good portions and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very tropical with a lot of real and fake plants. Service is really good too and the prices are very comfortable compared to other places in the Montrose area. Comida muy rica con precios muy accesibles, servicio bueno y el ambiente tropical del restaurante te relaja mientras comes, muy buena experiencia y los especiales del almuerzo son muy buenas.

Nidda is a neighborhood staple. It's the place that first introduced me to Thai food. It used to be one of my favorites, but there's so many new spots, I hadn't been back in a while. So we decided to spin the block a few weeks ago. I ordered one of my usuals (crab fried rice) and it was good. I ordered it medium spice and it didn't taste spicy at all, but there was plenty of crab. My husband had the Basil Seafood and said it was good. Overall things weren't as flavorful as we would have hoped though. But I'm glad they're still kicking and I will always appreciate them for introducing me to a wonderful cuisine.

Nidda is my favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. I have tried a couple of other places, but none compare to Nidda. The food is so good and authentic. Service is always friendly. I like the new remodel of the building. I felt like it was fine before, but I do like the new look. Feels warm and inviting inside. If you want GREAT Thai food, go to Nidda!

$23 Duck that came with one piece of meat and the rest of bone and skin.

2 stars because the staff was very friendly but will not be coming back because this duck entree was $23.50 and came with one piece of actual duck meat and two pieces of bone and skin.

Curry Noodle!

Finally, a solid Thai food experience in Houston! The decor is nice and spacious inside, and the most important thing: the food and service were quite impressive. The server was very helpful in making sure my first impression wouldn't be my last by suggesting the Curry Noodle. I always request the dishes on the hotter side, and the spice level was spot on. They have some unique specials worth exploring, which I'll do for future visits. The price was nice, and the food was on point, so that's all you need to know. Plenty of parking in the lot. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because while dining in, there's just a cluster of workers (maybe delivery or general staff) seated in this one area. Might be a normal thing for some spots in Houston, but I'm not used to seeing the workers just 'chilling' out like that. Nevertheless, I'd highly recommend if you're looking for Thai in Space City!

This was my first time trying Thai food, amazing service, and the noodles were delicious. It had a great blend of flavors. I had the mango sticky rice for dessert . I will definitely be coming back.

I stopped in at Nidda Thai for a Saturday lunch before doing some things around Montrose. The inside is so cute and peaceful. Soft Thai ballads are playing, there's greenery, fountains, soft pastel coloring, and good lighting - well thought out decor that transports you to Thailand. There's a bar inside as well. I had the crispy, spring rolls, jasmine tea and the green curry with shrimp (it's pretty mild but likely made for the American palate, I'm sure you could ask for a hotter level). The curry was very tasty, one of the better ones I've had in Houston, and just what I needed on an overcast, cool day. The service was excellent, the waiter was very attentive and courteous. I'd be inclined to come back again.

Pad Thai, papaya salad

The food is so good here! Better flavor and portions than other Thai options in the vicinity if you ask me. The papaya salad and the classic Thai salad with beef are our go-to items, and we'll usually get a noodle or curry to go with it. The service is fast, attentive, and friendly. Nice quiet dinner or lunch option in the neighborhood

Our waiter lol (this is a joke and I hope the restaurant sees this)
Campos J.

Went there yesterday for the first time at like 7 ish , kinda of a late dinner but the place was empty. Kinda liked it though peace and quiet is rare these days. Waiter was the most chill guy ever and even made a excellent recommendation for me, I was going to order the seafood crab cake curry on there specialty menu but he suggested the fried pork and that was perfect for me I didn't leave there feeling stuffed and uncomfortably full and he didn't try to upsell me on something just because it sounded good. So mad respect to the waiter. The pork was perfectly crispy with some cucumber and tomato's (to clear the palate) and side of white rice and the nice glaze sauce. Also the Thai toast is definitely worth trying, I thought it was bomb. (There food has good flavor and is not over seasoned as a person who cooks regularly, I found this food here top tier)

Pad Thai and Curry
William L.

Tried out the Red curry + Pad Thai and an order of spring rolls. The curry was good, not spicy but good flavor, definitely a bit smaller on the portion sizes for the cost compare to some of the other Thai places around town. The Pad Thai was decent, with a nice balance of sweet and savory, and the toppings were well integrated with the egg. Service was good, a lot better for me than what I've seen on the reviews. Not too busy on a Friday night, decent size parking lot and cozy environment with a few dine-ins but alot of take out orders. Overall a decent Thai spot for the area.

53. Pad Si Ew
Tiffini D.

I ordered the pad see ew through my work's delivery site and it was pretty good. I feel like this should be an easy dish to make but so many places still get it wrong. I asked for no spice but I saw a few chilis as if they started to add it then read my order. Fortunately it wasnt enough to notice. The carrots seemed frozen judging by the multiple shapes but they were plentiful and cooked well. The chicken wasn't dry although there could have been more. It wasn't a very big portion for the price but I will order again if I'm not able to get away for lunch.

Excellent drunken noodles pad thai, crispy spring rolls, and cheese rolls! I asked for medium spice and it was perfect! Excellent flavor. Great service. Easy parking!

Ask the Community - Nidda Thai Cuisine

Calling Nidda's phone number still gets a disconnected number. Anyone have any updates on their reopening?

Phone works. Online menu / ordering does not.

Any update on the reopening of Nidda Thai? The sign has disappeared from the chain link fence around the shopping center. I fear the worst.

The owner said opening is soon! 1-2 weeks hopefully.

Does anyone have an estimate as to when Nidda Thai will be able to reopen? The pace of construction at that site seems rather leisurely.

They are open again!!

Are they open?

Yes! For take out only right now.

Any idea when they open? Phone is not ringing anymore

Re-opened for take out only

Has this place moved? Tried to go yesterday and the whole strip mall was a construction site.

They are temporarily closed due to the construction.

I've only got to-go from here once, and from what I remember, the wait wasn't too bad. The parking is quite difficult since the lot is so small. To share, we got an order of crispy veggie spring rolls and a bowl of tom kha with chicken. Both always hit the spot. Some Thai spots make tom kha too salty but I think this one is seasoned well. We also ordered pad see ew and pad woon sen with tofu. So delicious! The portions are pretty generous, so we had a good amount to take home.

I ordered it with beef, and the beef was very tender and not dry at all. Furthermore, the overall dish has the wok hay flavor and was one of my favorite pad see ews I've ever had. Thai Iced Tea - it was your average thai iced tea where it wasn't mixed at first(which I think is a sign of authenticity!) and sweet at the perfect level with condensed milk. What makes this a four star was that the service was a little iffy in my opinion. Even though we were in a large group which makes it harder for waiters to order, the waiter stared at one of my friends and started mumbling despite him already ordering which made it pretty awkward.

Soft music, white and red walls with Thai decor. Natural lighting during the day with warm interior lighting. It appears that there has been a makeover to the restaurant. I like the new look more. It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Curry is a bit sweet to my liking, but overall, it was a good meal. Will have to try other dishes next time. Food presentation is nicely plated. Not messy or sloppy. 5. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

It's cute from the outside, and as soon as you walk in, you're warmly welcomed by both the waitress and waiter. Once seated, they were quick with drink orders and attentive throughout service was impeccable...For food, I ordered my go to Tom Kha Kai, along with the crab wontons from their happy hour menu. The Tom Kha had a lighter, more watery base than the rich coconut flavor I'm used to. I know this can vary by region, so it wasn't bad, just not my personal preference...The cream cheese crab wontons were decent and nicely presented. They also served a complimentary appetizer, which was a fun surprise, a taco shaped fried wonton wrapper filled with cabbage and their house dressing...Overall, if you're looking for a quick Thai bite with excellent service, this place works. I'm giving it 3.5 out of 5 not because it's bad, but because the flavors didn't quite match what I personally look for. For what it is, it's solid. -- Pilgrim Sojourner

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
