New restaurant in the same building as a former coffee shop. Casual and nice, we stopped in for a dinner and to catch up. Got the green papaya salad, pad thai, and a seafood dish - all had adjustable spice levels, we got medium, and all were delicious. Flavorful, with a kick, not greasy. Yum! Staff were young and sweet.

My fiance and I checked this place out yesterday, after we saw that it recently opened and it was a Thai place. First impressions is that it is a hidden gem! The environment is very cozy, with a giant spacious patio, and the inside had a lot of boots and had a very brunch feel. The service was very attentive, and they made sure to check in on us. The food was very impressive as well, we got the chicken toast as an appetizer and it was refreshing with the chili oil as well as crunchy. I got the Pad Sew Ew with mild spice, it was just right amount of food without feeling crazy full. Also it was delicious! Highly recommend anyone who enjoys Thai food to give this place a shot! Once people figure out this place, I wouldn't be surprised if it blows up!

Jabchai Thai cafe and eatery is a hidden gem. Very calming ambiance and a beautiful garden. I am looking forward to cooler weather to sit outdoors. Since I discovered it several weeks ago, it has been my favorite Thai place to visit and has the best Thai cuisine in Houston. The owner is the sweetest and most kind person and an amazing cook. All the dishes I have tried are so delicious and bursting with flavor. Dishes I and my friends have tried and highly recommend- Fresh rolls, Drunken noodles and Drunken fried rice, pineapple fried rice, chicken satay ( best satay sauce in town) shrimp pad thai so yum! ,Thai chicken basil, Pad Woon Sen w/ shrimp and best sticky rice mango (mango is seasonal). The staff are wonderful and friendly. Shabana our server is so attentive and provides excellent service. Fast on her feet and always one step ahead before she is asked, she brings the item you need. Hannah also provides good service and is so pleasant. Both Shabana and Hannah always provide service with a smile. Their willingness to help and work hard to provide the best service is greatly appreciated. I have been there numerous times with friends and the food and service is consistently excellent. All the staff are so pleasant and make a dining experience wonderful. Looking forward to try the rest of the dishes on the menu. I highly recommend Jabchai. My friends and I rate it 10 out of 10. We just love the delicious food and service.

Friday at noon. 3 tables. Terrible service.

Just dined in. I was the first guest in the building. Was immediately greeted my Shaban (forgive spelling) she was super new--so much so she stopped to right down my order for ice tea. Now, yes she was sweet but she knew so little of the menu--asking my spice level for items that don't have any. I requested WiFi password, she said there is one but didn't know and she'd ask. There was no manager there so she didn't return with one. Even placing my order for fried pork, required me repeating it 3x and pointing it out and then she wrote it down. 20 mins later it came out over fried and dry. I requested a sauce I saw on the menu that came with tiger cry--that took her asking multiple employees for help and the other sever Michael was rude and short with her. Still without sauce 10 minutes later--I waited--because they seemed scattered. Mind you only two other tables in the building. Michael came up to me to ask which one, I said any. It's dry I just wanted something to eat it with. Honestly so done, tea was empty not refilled. I was beyond ready to leave--thirsty, hungry and annoyed. Went to pay out and the server wanted to remove the fried pork but because there wasn't a manager in the building she couldn't. So I paid out and wasted $31. If management cannot be present for a Friday at noon with a restaurant of less than 10 tables, I don't think they can be taken seriously. To management, be present and show your face or allow a server to have access to make situations right. And please train your staff so they can feel confident and represent your business well. Really simple stuff here. I won't be back.

Upon arrival, I was pleased to find ample, effortless parking available, which always sets a delightful tone for a meal. However, stepping inside was where the true magic began I was absolutely captivated by the extraordinary decor. The venue is tastefully curated with authentic Thai statues, traditional toys, carved wooden boats, and serene Buddha figures, creating an ambiance that instantly transports one straight to Bangkok or Pattaya. The hospitality was top-tier from start to finish, seamlessly balancing efficiency with genuine warmth. To begin, I ordered a traditional Thai Iced Tea, which arrived crisp, wonderfully smooth, and expertly chilled. For my luncheon, I selected the Pad Thai, which was served delightfully over fresh banana leaves a charming, authentic touch that elevates the entire presentation. When the dish arrived, it was an absolute culinary triumph vibrant, rich with complex flavors, and executed with superb skill. Between the immaculate cleanliness, immersive aesthetic, exquisite cuisine, and flawless service, this market gem earns absolute full marks from me. A quintessential discovery I shall most certainly be returning

The dining area is pretty small, with around 10 tables, but it was surprisingly busy with so many people coming in to eat. It gave me that hidden-gem kind of feeling, like a local spot that people know is really good. The food was honestly delicious and tasted quite authentic compared to other Thai restaurants I've tried. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned, and our food came out surprisingly fast. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a little hidden gem that I'm happy to have found near my home. I'll definitely be coming back!

Soft music, white and red walls with Thai decor. Natural lighting during the day with warm interior lighting. It appears that there has been a makeover to the restaurant. I like the new look more. It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Curry is a bit sweet to my liking, but overall, it was a good meal. Will have to try other dishes next time. Food presentation is nicely plated. Not messy or sloppy. 5. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

I can confidently say that I was disappointed. There was not one dish that stood out or that I would recommend or come back for. I especially was sad that the crying tiger flavors really missed the mark. The sticky rice that came with it felt like it was reheated and some parts were hard. It also tasted like some of the vegetables (green beans and carrots) that come with the entrees were frozen, not fresh. The jasmine green tea tastes like a powder mix. Some of the squid tasted freezer burned. The kua kling was the most interesting and unique of the dishes, but not one that I would go out of my way to eat again. The sticky rice with mango was as expected. The coconut ice cream is probably pre-portioned and frozen so was rock solid when it came out. I did not find most of the toppings particularly good. It was a busy Friday and I know service was busy. The food did not take long to come out, but we definitely had dishes from previous courses that stacked up, and we had to ask them to be taken away. They do have a high chair for toddlers and brought a plastic plate/utensils, but there was not a changing table in the bathroom we used. We have had such great experiences at other Thai restaurants in Houston that I would not come back.

It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. Thank you , Sherita for introducing me and Aaliyah to this hidden gem. I completely understand why you visited twice in one week. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and hopefully next time the hospitality matches the quality of the food.
