    Wonton Soup
    Marcy J.

When having not the best day you look for your comfort food. I'm ashamed to say the amount of times I've had NUA Thai the last two weeks is shameful. But when the food is always fresh and amazing how can you resist??? I went in to place an order to go and got some Wonton soup for this unexpected cold weather we are having, a side of fried rice and the Siracha wings. The wonton soup amazing per usual and a good warmth needed for this weather. The fried rice never misses here. Just always good fresh and authentic. The Siracha wings flavorful with just enough spice to keep it good. I almost forgot the spring rolls. Fresh crispy and the sauce the perfect addition. If you're looking for good and authentic Thai cuisine. Nua Thai is where you need to be eating.

We held a surprise birthday dinner for a friend and the staff was so welcoming and accommodating for how long it took for our party to arrive. We all ordered different things, but my recent favorite had been the pineapple curry - made vegan and with tofu. The waiters are decently versed in what can or cannot be made vegan. I've also tried bites of their drunken noodles which I enjoy. If you're a spice head, definitely ask to adjust your spice. Their mango sticky rice is also soooo yummy! It's a must. However, this time the mangoes were not as sweet as before. It must depend on the season. Regardless, this place is a standard and reliable spot for me. It is usually not super busy and has ample seating. I will return!

It's a very casual Thai restaurant. Decent interiors. The service was good. We got everything we asked for quickly. Food review: - spicy edamame: 4/10. Over cooked and under seasoned. - Tulip dumpling: 6/10. It was nice. - lettuce wrap chicken: 7.5/10. Very fresh lettuce and flavorful chicken - roti curry: 10/10. Perfection. Don't miss this. - red curry chicken: 7/10. Doesn't disappoint. Overall, decently priced good Thai food.

Pad Kee Mao, Tiger Cry (Grilled steak), Whole Tilapia

Came here for an early Sunday dinner. They have a small parking lot, and while the dining room wasn't too busy, there was a steady flow of to-go orders throughout our meal. We ordered the Tiger Cry, Pad Kee Mao, and the whole tilapia. The Tiger Cry was hands-down the best dish of the night. Even though it was cooked medium well, it was still incredibly tender and juicy. You could really taste the char and a bit of that subtle fattiness--so good. The Pad Kee Mao hit the spot too. It had that savory flavor you expect, and I appreciated how generously it was loaded with egg. Unfortunately, the whole tilapia was a major letdown--especially since it was listed as one of their specials. The menu and photo described it as being topped with a "triple flavor sauce," but there was no sauce (or flavor) to be found. Instead of the light batter we expected, it came heavily fried and bland. We subbed the white rice for plain fried rice, and honestly, the fried rice was great--simple and flavorful. Service was off. After taking our order, our server stood at our table staring at her handheld for an awkwardly long time until we finally asked if everything was okay with the order. She just said "yeah" and walked off. When we told a different staff member about the fish, he responded with, "I'm glad you enjoyed the fish," which left us confused--was he listening? We also had to walk up to the counter to ask for a bag for our leftovers. Overall, the food was a mix of highs and lows, but the service was definitely a miss. I'll probably stick to ordering the Tiger Cry to-go next time I'm craving it.

One of the best thai teas I've had at a restaurant and the yellow curry was amazing with a good amount of chicken. However the pad see ew was a smaller portion compared to other thai restaurants.

This is (currently) my favorite spot in town for thai food! It's got a really cute dine-in area that is pretty comfortable. I enjoy dining in when I have the time. Everyone here is super friendly and i've struck conversation with staff here on a lot of different occasions, they're super easy and fun to talk with. I stick to what I like here, they do an amazing pad thai and their mango sticky rice is a muuuuust try (although portion for the sticky rice is smaller from what I remember). Give this place a try!

I've eaten in the restaurant and the staff is attentive and patient. The order shown was 'pick up' and the portion size along with the taste was great. I would definitely recommend. SN: both Crab fried rice, and Pad Thai were easily modified to have no eggs

My friend and I went during a deal and they had an appetizer plus main dish for $15! Appetizers- Their crab cheese cream puff was crispy on the outside, but the inside was a little disappointing. The filling was cold and tasted a little like plain cheese. The chili oil wontons were a little lackluster as well. Main courses- I thought the flavor of the pad thai was a good, a little tangy and a hint of sweetness but the noodles were broken and a little clumpy. The spice level I feel was also a little underwhelming. But, the other noodles my friend got were very flavorful and the texture was a lot better. Drinks- We got the thai green tea and I thought it was good, but a little overpriced. It tasted a little watered down and I wish the tea flavor was stronger. We went during lunch and it was half full. Ordering was fast but our food took a while to come out. Their parking lot is pretty small and fills up so I would suggest carpooling if possible to avoid having to park elsewhere and walk. They do have a wide variety of seating options and a large interior though!

Everything I need at a Thai restaurant. Delicious fresh food with great service. The parking lot is very small and I did not want to pay seven dollars for a parking spot next door so I made a block once and I was able to get a spot. Definitely a more casual place but I left full and happy!!!

Crab Cream Cheese Roll, Pad See Ew, Crispy Chicken Fried Rice, Yellow Curry
    Libby H.

We ordered via uber eats this place during the workday with my coworkers and wow!!! It was delicious. Starting off with the crab cream cheese rolls... the ratio of crisp to cream cheese was perfect - absolutely loved these!! The pad see ew was amazing as well. Great texture of homemade fresh noodles and great flavor. The yellow curry was also amazing - just note that their "Thai hot" level 5 was very manageable and the spiciness did not deter from the great flavor. The crispy chicken fried rice we got "hot" level and it had quite good heat! Overall - delicious Thai place. I will be back for take out for sure!

I came here for the first time for Houston Restaurant Weeks and was very impressed. Everything was super flavorful and yummy. I had the roti with curry and the crab fried rice. My husband had the Thai chicken wings and the whole tilapia which he enjoyed. We finished with the dessert roti with ice cream. The portion sizes of everything was HUGE. The many ways you can have roti definitely make it standout, and I'll definitely be back.

If you're coming in a big group, make sure to reserve beforehand just in case. I never had to wait the last two times I was here but it can get crowded during peak dinner times. Parking is limited but your can park easily across the street or nearby. The wait for our some food items was long but most of it was good. The salmon dish impressed me the most surprisingly. I'd come back here again to try out more food items when it's less busy.

NUA Thai is a fairly young establishment (established 2020). It is a medium sized restaurant with many two to four seaters. The restaurant is clean and has very simple decoration. I had the tofu pad woon sen while my partner got the crispy chicken fried rice. The portions were generous and the food were flavorful. Service was great, and staff were friendly. The only downside is the tiny parking lot in front of the restaurant. I would avoid going during peak hours.

Soft music, white and red walls with Thai decor. Natural lighting during the day with warm interior lighting. It appears that there has been a makeover to the restaurant. I like the new look more. It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

The Tom Kha had a lighter, more watery base than the rich coconut flavor I'm used to. I know this can vary by region, so it wasn't bad, just not my personal preference...The cream cheese crab wontons were decent and nicely presented. They also served a complimentary appetizer, which was a fun surprise, a taco shaped fried wonton wrapper filled with cabbage and their house dressing...Overall, if you're looking for a quick Thai bite with excellent service, this place works. For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
