Brand new thai restaurant in the village! So new it's only been here a week and they still have the old restaurants name up. It says Ma Kitchen but the restaurant has changed to Mana Thai Kitchen sign coming soon per the owner. The interior is very nice with a large wine selection it appears. Right now they are previewing their soft open menu! I played it safe and ordered my usual basil fried rice! Service was fast but I was also the only one in there loool. Now the basil fried rice tasty! Not too greasy and the ingredients taste fresh. Not mu favorite of the bunch but i'd eat it again! Overall I like it! I want to try more things on the menu!

    Khao soi tasty

Solid Thai food in Rice Village! After recently pivoting to a Thai cuisine, Mana serves up some tasty traditional dishes. Favs included the khao soi noodles, tiger cry beef, and the crab fried rice. Overall a great addition to the Rice Village food scene!

    Chicken pad see ew

This was a relatively new Thai spot that opened in Rice Village, so I was curious to check it out. I got the chicken pad see ew which was pretty good, but the portions were smaller and pricey. The restaurant had really cool interior decor and our server was sweet

We had been here before and loved the food, so we decided to bring two guests with us for dinner. Unfortunately, our experience this time was disappointing. When we arrived, the waitress seated the four of us at a very small table. We politely asked if we could move to a larger table, but she refused, saying that the larger tables were reserved for parties of six. Throughout our meal, there were at least six empty large tables available. With four people sharing multiple dishes, the table quickly became overcrowded and uncomfortable. While the food was still excellent, we were unable to fully enjoy our dinner because of the cramped seating arrangement. We truly love the food here, but better attention to customer comfort would have made the experience much more enjoyable.

Nice little place in rice village. It was their soft opening when we went. Service is good at the beginning but refilled waters were rare to nonexistent unless asked. Everything we ordered was medium and it felt super mild. And I can't do much to any spicy. So... order super hot if u want spicy. Everything was pretty good overall. Would return.

    Drunken noodles and basil duck

This is not your average Thai restaurant. Whoever is in the kitchen is putting out some special takes on things found on every Thai menu. Ever have bao buns in a Thai place? A pork version here was excellent. We are looking forward to the drunken noodles and the basil duck ( so crispy!) for lunch tomorrow

    Chicken wings and chang beer

Chicken wings are very good. Short ribs good. Curry sauce delicious Service was Place was overall good. Would go back.

Very disappointing experience. The food did not match the menu description: the noodle soup was supposed to come with two proteins, but I received only one. When I pointed this out, the male owner responded rudely and told me to leave instead of addressing the problem. The female owner later refunded the extra charge, but the way this was handled was still unprofessional and unacceptable.

Corn salad the mimics papaya salad
    Dave S.

I don't know why this does not have a higher rating. I have nothing but positives. This food is delicious. I really like the papaya salad made with corn. Light and a unique twist. The short ribs remind me of Kao soi. All the textures and flavors were on point. Duck egg roll was ok, but probably not necessary with my meal. Glad I tried this place! I'll be back.

My wife and I recently made our decision to be active in trying new restaurants. As middle-aged but trying to be young at heart sometimes, it was habitually delayed many times so we usually end up in the same places when going out for our weekend lunch or dinner. Our first time here and it's definitely worth a second visit. We are looking to try a few more different dishes and order a few of the ones we tried today. My wife and I are bringing our young adult sons and their wife and girl friend for a try at a bigger variety for taste test To the review of Ma's Kitchen today 9/21/2025 1. Appetizer, golden chicken wings 7/5 stars, and yes it's two cuts above all the chiggen wings I have tried in any restaurant. A very very subtle sweet tamarind and garlic flavor perfectly fried and glazed....there was no flour so it went down not too heavy for fried wings. They were big and plump sized.. Keeper for next visit 2. Singapore noodles upgraded to shrimp protein was also excellent 5/5 . Would have preferred a bit more green onions but my palate on this may be abnormal for the greater population. A keeper as well 3. Roar and sear (tiger cry in other places) 2/5. Not worth $35 imo. Portion was small. Ordered med rare but came out close to well done. Not as tender bc it was over cooked. I like Osha on Westheimer much better. 4. Ma's short rib noodles: 5.5/5 stars. Fall off the bone tenderness. Flavorful light coconut cream curry . A keeper. I am very surprised that this restaurant was empty at lunchtime Saturday

    Lamb elegance, short rib noodles
    Samantha T.

Ambiance/decor was nice and unexpected, as that strip is in need of a refresh. Service was excellent (we were the only table for dinner) and server was very attentive. Food was tasty and special. We tried the chicken wings which I would definitely go back for, saucy, tangy, crispy fried basil was a nice touch. Lamb dish was a little undercooked (lamb was quite rare) but curry and rice were very unique, and dish was pretty. Short rib noodles were also very tasty and unique. I had a white sangria which was on the sweeter side but very refreshing. Would go back to try other items!

    Mango sticky rice

I had a great experience here! The food was amazing I had the pad see ew and mango sticky rice and they were both a 10/10!!

From the moment you sit down at those fun, nostalgic purple 90s-style tabletops, you're transported…read moreinto what can only be described as an authentic Thai market experience. The atmosphere feels lively, casual, and packed with personality--exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon but rarely do. The menu is enormous, featuring dishes from different regions of Thailand, with everything from soups and stir-fried noodles to rice dishes, curries, seafood, and grilled meats. Looking around the dining room, it seemed like nobody ordered the same thing because there is just so much to try. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable for a place with this much hype. I had some of the best noodles of my life here. The Pad Kee Mao was phenomenal (best I've ever had and I eat thai food OFTEN) the noodles were chewy, bouncy, fresh, and perfectly coated in sauce. Everything tasted made-to-order and arrived piping hot. We also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, along with the Green Papaya Salad, which was easily one of the best versions I've ever had. The heat, acidity, and freshness was incredible and so well balanced. Many of the dishes are served on banana leaves, which adds to the entire experience and makes everything feel even more authentic and special. As someone who loves spice, I also appreciated the range of spice levels available. They don't hold back, which I always consider a good sign. One of the coolest surprises is that there's an attached market selling imported products from Thailand and Vietnam--lots of fun snacks, drinks, sauces, and ingredients you won't find at a typical grocery store. A few things to know: parking can be a little challenging, and while it's a sit-down restaurant, you'll need to head to the cashier to pay. They also accept cards, so don't worry about bringing cash. If I lived nearby, I would honestly come here every week just to work my way through the menu. This is the kind of restaurant that's worth planning a trip around. I would come back to Houston just for this meal. When people say Houston has some of the best Asian food in the country, this is exactly the type of place they're talking about!!

We visited for lunch on a Tuesday and had no wait to be seated. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The spring rolls and dumplings were both very good and made a great start to the meal. The Pad Thai had nice flavor and was enjoyable. My husband ordered his dish at a spice level 4 (their highest spice level), but felt it wasn't quite as spicy as expected, so keep that in mind if you like a lot of heat. The portions were very generous, and we definitely had leftovers. The kids' chicken fried rice was a huge portion and was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert--it was a great way to end the meal. The only disappointment was the Thai tea, which tasted a little weak compared to what we've had at other Thai restaurants. Overall, the food was tasty, the service was good, and the portions were excellent. We'd be happy to return and try more items from the menu.

It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
