    Pad Thai (Thin Rice Noodle)
    Neha S.

This is such a good Thai restaurant - I got a pad Thai for lunch for $12 with a spring roll and a salad with yummy dressing on it given as an appetizer with the meal. My friends got other noodle dishes, and one of them got a spicy chicken entree dish, and every single one looked amazing. I got spice level 4 out of 5 and it wasn't spicy at all for me, but the flavors were super solid for me (not too sweet). The waiter was really friendly and gave us efficient service. The actual restaurant is a decent size and had good seating options, but it was super cold inside when we went for lunch so be aware of that!!

I'll start with the positives! The staff is very friendly, the dining room is very nice, and they're always extremely fast. Lunch comes with a complementary little salad and mini spring roll, both of which are very good. My company has gone out to lunch here multiple times and they're great at handling large crowds. That aside, I still feel like the restaurant can't get more than 3 stars. I would expect lots of seasoning and flavor from a Thai restaurant, but Mint Thai has always been on the bland side. I've had the fried rice and the Pad Kee Mao, neither of which were noteworthy. It's nice that you can customize your spice level, but be warned that it's not actually that spicy - if you really like spicy food, you can order the maximum spice level and it still won't have a huge kick. Finally, I feel like the portion sizes are a bit light, especially compared to the massive portion sizes that I've come to expect while living in Houston. TLDR; Mint Thai is a pleasant little kitchen that could be good for a midday lunch, but you shouldn't go in with high expectations.

Basil Leaves Thai Style Dinner with Chicken

First time here. The place was empty, which was surprising with how good the food was. Maybe just a slow night. I had the basil leaf Thai style with chicken. Delicious! The egg was cooked perfectly for this dish. I ordered spice level 1, and that was a hair too spicy for me. But the flavor was still there. I started with the chicken dumplings. While they tasted good, it said they were lightly fried. These were the deep fried type, which I am not a fan of. The dipping sauce was incredible! I had to drink the left over LOL. Parking was easy as they are in a strip mall. Service was very friendly, fast, and attentive. The restaurant was clean with a simple decor. Nothing fancy and far from a hole in the wall. I think just perfect. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes, but I highly recommend the basil leaf Thai style.

I ordered because there was a lunch special for delivery and I love curry. I am disappointed. Ordered medium spice and even though it has a kick to it and some flavor, overall the dish is not great on flavor with the rice it becomes quite bland. I think it is because it is watered down. Usually there is a thickness to curry but this was super thin. I feel like if they hadn't watered it down the flavor would be on point but unfortunately I won't know because this is the last time I will get it.

Yummy Thai food! Tucked away in the plaza right next to the stairs on the first floor. This restaurant is always so quiet and peaceful inside. Never super busy and food comes quick if you dine in or do takeout! Extremely fast service. I've ordered their Pad Thai on door dash and dined in and the consistency has always been the same. My husband loves their curry here. Reasonably priced as well all this came out to $39.

Had a quick lunch at Mint Thai Kitchen in Montrose today. The food is always good and the lunch special for $15 comes with a salad, an egg roll and an entree - you can't beat that these days. Crispy Chicken and Rice

Came in late on a Tuesday. Greeted with a friendly smile. I had the Tom Kha Soup and Pad See Ew. I will definitely be back. So tasty. Very reasonably priced. This should be your go to Thai place.

Noooooooodles... Yum Yum!!! Located relatively close to Allen Parkway. Mint Thai is a cute restaurant with great food. I've been to the one on the North Side and was excited to see that they had one on the South Side of Houston! Yaaaay! **Parking: Can be a bit crammed depending on the time of day you go. It's located in a shopping center that has quite a few businesses in it. We lucked up and got a spot in the front. **Service: Service was great in that there was one lady who worked at the front; but there were only 5 occupied tables. She did a great job of taking our orders and topping our drinks off. **Food: We ordered a started and definitely did not read it correctly. We wanted spring rolls and ended up ordering the Goong Gabok (Golden Shrimp Rolls). In reading it lightly, I thought it was a spring roll with Shrimp, boy was I wrong. This actual dish was a deep fried whole (tail on) Shrimp wrapped in a wonton wrapper. It was good, just different than what I expected. Should've ordered the egg rolls. At least I know now what I didn't know before. Sheeeeeeeeesh!!! I also ordered Pad Kee Mao (Spicy Flat Noodles) with Chicken. It was good. I am a creature of habit, so I always get this dish and it never disappoints. Either way, this place has great food and great service. I have also ordered to go and they are pretty quick. The portions just okay. Because I am a creature of habit, I will definitely be back, but will read the menu twice before stepping outside of the box again. Lol

However, stepping inside was where the true magic began I was absolutely captivated by the extraordinary decor. The hospitality was top-tier from start to finish, seamlessly balancing efficiency with genuine warmth. To begin, I ordered a traditional Thai Iced Tea, which arrived crisp, wonderfully smooth, and expertly chilled. For my luncheon, I selected the Pad Thai, which was served delightfully over fresh banana leaves a charming, authentic touch that elevates the entire presentation. When the dish arrived, it was an absolute culinary triumph vibrant, rich with complex flavors, and executed with superb skill. Between the immaculate cleanliness, immersive aesthetic, exquisite cuisine, and flawless service, this market gem earns absolute full marks from me. The dining area is pretty small, with around 10 tables, but it was surprisingly busy with so many people coming in to eat. The food was honestly delicious and tasted quite authentic compared to other Thai restaurants I've tried. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned, and our food came out surprisingly fast. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a little hidden gem that I'm happy to have found near my home. I'll definitely be coming back!

I can confidently say that I was disappointed. There was not one dish that stood out or that I would recommend or come back for. I especially was sad that the crying tiger flavors really missed the mark. The sticky rice that came with it felt like it was reheated and some parts were hard. It also tasted like some of the vegetables (green beans and carrots) that come with the entrees were frozen, not fresh. The jasmine green tea tastes like a powder mix. Some of the squid tasted freezer burned. The kua kling was the most interesting and unique of the dishes, but not one that I would go out of my way to eat again. The sticky rice with mango was as expected. The coconut ice cream is probably pre-portioned and frozen so was rock solid when it came out. I did not find most of the toppings particularly good. It was a busy Friday and I know service was busy. The food did not take long to come out, but we definitely had dishes from previous courses that stacked up, and we had to ask them to be taken away. They do have a high chair for toddlers and brought a plastic plate/utensils, but there was not a changing table in the bathroom we used. We have had such great experiences at other Thai restaurants in Houston that I would not come back.

It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. Thank you , Sherita for introducing me and Aaliyah to this hidden gem. I completely understand why you visited twice in one week. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and hopefully next time the hospitality matches the quality of the food.
