    Sticky rice with black beans

Came here for HRW lunch with a fellow Yelper. Coincidentally we wanted the same food options from appetizer to dessert! Started with crispy spring rolls, then a small portion of Pad Thai, and ended with a plate of sticky rice with black beans. I loved all my food. They were cooked well and flavorful. The dessert was a little too sweet for me, but it still tasted good. The restaurant is fairly new, and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is good for small groups, as it is small. Parking is easy in a big parking lot.

Overall good, with a couple of areas for improvement. The space is small and the portions are on the smaller side, but maybe that's what's expected for this area. Thai tea - very good, not too sweet, only downside is that it is tiny. I think the whipped cream is unnecessary, but that's something you can opt out of. Shake Chic Chick - reminds me of popcorn chicken; I like the batter but I think it could be crispier. Some pieces were a bit stale. Stir-fried Suki - normally this is one of my most favorite Thai dish. I think Chalong does it well it terms of flavor, ingredients, and spice. However, it was very mushy for my preference where the glass noodle almost disintegrates. Not sure if this is a chef stylistic choice, but I wasn't chewing at all for the most part. Po Tak Soup - light, sour, refreshing. Full of fish, shrimp, mussels, and squid. The only thing we ordered that wasn't spicy so it's a nice little break. Khua Kling - this dish knocked me out with how spicy it was. Be warn if you're not used to eating spice. Stir fried pork or chicken with curry paste, boiled egg, cucumbers. Looks and tastes amazing, although I couldn't hear anything after the first bite. Raw Shrimp - One of the few Thai restaurants that have this dish. Very fresh, good amount of spice, savory seafood sauce, topped off with raw garlic for some crunch.

Very impressed! Pai is exceptionally nice! I really enjoyed talking with her. Very nice and personable. Food: the food is simply amazing. Everything is made fresh to order. I really enjoyed the pad Thai. One of the best pad Thais I've had in a while. Every single bite was full of flavor and simply made a perfect perfection. The Thai tea was amazing! So was the dessert she brought out at the end. I really enjoyed that. Decor and customer service is top notch here. I enjoyed talking with Pai. I have several dishes to try when I come back. I like the sitting area as well. Also the little things matter. They have nice dishes, nice fortune, spoons, nice tables. They went all out to provide a nice experience for their clients. Easy five star review I will come here many more times to come and bring a lot of clients here. If you follow me, I suggest you stop by and give this restaurant a try ASAP. Support local businesses.

Green curry with tofu and the Pad Thai with chicken was delicious! Not too heavy like other Thai food places. Thai tea was lightly sweet yet satisfying. Definitely coming back! :D

Bold, favorable Thai cuisine!!! If you love Thai food, then you need to check this place out! Close to Midtown area and it's super quaint...blink and you may pass it! The food is amazing and has lots of flavors. The soup was clean and full of richness. If you love seafood, then you need to try the crispy shrimp. Looking for spice, then they got you covered!! Come check them out solo, date night or with friends!! Chow Chow Time!!

I went there with my boyfriend the other day. It was my first time trying Thai food, and it was a really great experience. Our server, Pai (I hope I'm saying her name right), was very nice. She recommended some dishes, and they were so good. It's a really small restaurant, but I liked the ambience there too.

Came in today and got the mango sticky rice since I love it the first time. It was just as delicious! I shared with my coworkers although I for sure didn't want to, but anything to get more customers in the door! The establishment is so clean! And Pai was extremely helpful once again! Thank you!

Located in Midtown in a small plaza. Plenty of parking. The interior is very small; maybe seating for 6ish tables. We got the crispy pork (4/5) and roti with curry (1/5) for apps. The crispy pork resembled a southern Chinese style of BBQ pork; fairly tasty. The roti with curry was an Asian pancake with a curry dipping sauce; strong feeling that the pancake was a frozen / premade pancake because I've cooked some at home with the same consistency. I got the pad Thai for my entree; the portion was actually quite large and it was a decent version of pad Thai; my personal preference is for a slightly more tamarind/ saucier version. Overall, it's a decent Thai option for midtown; definitely need to try out some of the more Thai options (outside of the basic street food dishes).

Great service! Starting with the Thai Tea...it was perfect. Not too sweet and served in a glass instead of the usual plastic. And the lunch was delicious. Tons of flavor and really fresh

I ordered online and paid, I showed up and they are closed! No one is here, business is closed. I better be getting my $ back, and not charged for this!

Finally, a Thai place that I LOVE in Houston. I've been on the search for 5 years now. I went for HRW and was very impressed. The owner is so sweet and the food was delish. It's a small space but the decor is top tier. I definitely plan on returning soon.

Let me just say this visit was almost perfect! I was the first guest for lunch which was fine by me. First impressions it was quaint and well decorated. It is a small eatery but comfortable felt like home. I was greeted as soon as I came in. I let her know I needed to wash my hands and b lined straight to the bathrooms. They were clean as well. I really appreciated the extra care they took in making sure their facilities were clean. Often it is overlooked. Once seated my waitress came out and without me asking she offered selections that would be ideal for lunch. It was so effortless and not forced I had to try what she suggested which is a staple I enjoy cooking at home Pad Kaprow aka Thai Basil Chicken. I opted for Thai spicy which surprised her but iykyk lol. While waiting for my food she brought me a Thai tea to try out. It was soooo good and packed a punch. My lunch came out quickly and was hot. She also brought house condiments to compliment my meal. When I say the food was delicious it was delicious. Serving size was perfect and the egg was cooked perfectly as well. I was feeling it but midway but a thing happened. Now I'm an honest reviewer and I'm not here to put anyone down. Only state my experience. So take it as a grain of salt. There was a rather long hair in my food. I felt terrible because I didn't know how it would be received when I mentioned what happened. I could not keep eating, but let me tell you I wanted to finish my plate! I was having a serious inner dialogue about how to proceed when my waitress arrived to check in. I told her what happened and requested maybe just a half portion of what was left. Of course she went above my request and made it right. They remade the dish and provided me a coupon for $5 off my next visit. Now some people may have gone off but I understand it happens and it was an opportunity for them to learn in order to get better. The big question will I be back....of course the food and service was great. Please check them out!

The got nice wall art too, depicting the popular dishes from the north so I had my expectation and hopes up. Service is ordinary, she speaks little English but can get by ordering, we order first at the counter the sit anywhere. Braised egg is 2 for $3.50, salty but expected since it's marinated. Came out steaming hot, and yolk was not overly cooked and dry, not bad. Starting with the Chinese hamburger I felt sad and know not to expect too much from the other dishes we ordered. First the meat look different than what others have posted before, and it was kinda dry and too salty to eat. There was no other spice, only the meat juice flavor. The bun they use was stale to eat. Traditional way of making this should be the flaky oily pancake, or at least make the buns softer to eat. The mutton stew was clear and very heartwarming to drink on a cold day. But the portion is super small for the price. The glass noodles were gone in literally two bites. I had none to share with my boyfriend. This dish come with the burger bun too that you can soak them in the soup so I guess this is the extra carb make up for the less noodles. Oil splash noodle is their specialty? It was good but didn't wowed me. Noodles are chewy and well cooked, came with lots of bean sprouts. The sauce is flavorful and actually not too oily which I enjoyed more. You can add the beef for an extra charge, it's the regular braised beef, was just ok. I find it funny that their all food arts on the wall look nothing like the actual way they serve it.

On the table was a holder with chopsticks, soup spoons and napkins. It was a chilly, blustery day - I so enjoyed the Henan-style lamb with noodles soup! Three kinds of noodles: wide, hand-pulled with a nice chew; thin, textured tofu; crystal. Happy with the two quail eggs. There was a nice amount of wood ear fungus, kelp? and fresh cilantro. The lamb was tender and the broth flavorful. I saved half of the soup for dinner and chowed down on the pork bun. It was hot and toasty from the bun being grilled. She immediately asked what we wanted in a rude tone, which set an uncomfortable atmosphere from the start. There was a sign on the table advertising a "free appetizer" if you take a photo and tag the restaurant on social media. I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but when I mentioned it, the server initially refused to honor the promotion. After I pointed out the sign, she appeared upset and walked away. I saw she went to speak to another employee and cracked a smiled and looked over. She later returned and offered a small discount instead. The issue wasn't about the money or the discount, it was the principle. The promotion was clearly advertised, and I simply followed the restaurant's own policy. It was disappointing to feel like the restaurant was reluctant to honor something they were actively promoting. I hope management addresses this because customer service and consistency with advertised promotions make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
