If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food-- this is NOT IT. My husband and I have been to multiple Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area California (San Francisco & Daly City) and a couple of places here in Houston, so we know the flavors and dishes well. We went here today because my husband was craving for some Vietnamese pho. We decided to try it. It's a small and simple little restaurant. We sat wherever we wanted. Not very busy or packed. As we were flipping through the menu-- we were already disappointed. They didn't have many selections, as we're usually used to. Very limited. The little appetizer plates they gave us were a little greasy and dirty. You can see where it was picked it up. Side note: my husband really wanted pho. There was only ONE pho option (and you can choose your proteins) BUT they didn't have the tripe, and other ingredients that my husband loves in authentic pho. So he didn't get it. We also asked for regular sweet chili sauce (for the calamari because we didn't like their sauce)-- which ALL Vietnamese restaurants usually have-- they didn't have it. It took 15-20 mins after we ordered our food. We ordered: *Crispy Calamari Rate 2/10 - only because it was crispy and came out good temperature. Wasn't seasoned well and not the flavors I was looking for *Grilled Beef w/ Rice (instead of vermicelli noodles)-- no veggies Rate 1/10 warm-cold dish served, small portion for their pricing and the flavor wasn't what I was expecting *Grilled Pork w/ Rice (instead of vermicelli noodles)--no veggies Rate 1/10 warm-cold dish served, small portion for their pricing and the flavor wasn't what I was expecting *combo Beef and Pork w/ Rice (they ran out of vermicelli) my husband was pretty disappointed about them not having vermicelli noodles. Rate 1/10 - warm-cold dish served, small portion for their pricing and the flavor wasn't what I was expecting We still ate the food cuz we were hungry and didn't want to waste. Personally, I think their pricing doesn't match the food portions, quality and flavors. The lady gave us some sandwiches w/ some creamy stuff on the side and apologized for them running out of vermicelli. That was sweet of her. We were so disappointed and just wanted to get out of there. Cravings not satisfied and we're not going back here again.

Such a cute place to go to and feels like a hole in the wall restaurant thats such a gem. Once my friend and I entered, I believe the owner greeted us and I was able to speak Vietnamese with her. When I asked for recommendations she was able to narrow down a few in each section and we ended up picking 2 of them. The Thai Tea was sooo yummy. It was a good ratio of dairy to tea. We got the spicy lemongrass to share and it was such a good portion! The crispy lemongrass on the rice was not too overpowering and a great crunch to the meal. Actually good for 2-3 people. Getting an extra serving of rice was extra though.

Exquisite in every sensory experience....HEAVEN on a plate of food. The server was quick & always on pointe. A joy to dine there tonight. Although I've been coming here for 8 years, the sweet owner gets better & better. A real magical treat given she's gracious perfection. a true fan. Mark B Music was divine. A rare feat considering she is gracious PERFECTION. Bon Appetite!!

Decent place.very empty due to covid we were the only customers there. They gave us amazing service and free dessert (likely due to that). Wasn't the best pho I have had in town. But good enough seeing this isn't a pho specialty house. Papaya salad was good!

Stopped into this establishment for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm always in the area and love Asian cuisine but have never visited and that will change. The service was spectacular and the food was even better. The food was so fresh and delicious and we were soo full afterwards. Not pictured are egg rolls summer rolls that we literally inhaled. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

The crab rangoon burrito didn't really taste like crab rangoon. It was extremely creamy and heavily filled with cream cheese almost to the point of being overwhelming. It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). It was also overpriced at $16. The service was good and the ambiance was pretty standard.

I tried the waygyu tartare and the bread it came with made this dish it was buttery or milky soft and tossed. The actual meat was grinded up like you'd expect and it was okay just the bread really made this dish. I also loved the kanpachi crudo. It was just the right amount of sauce that leveled up the amberjack and the pineapple brighten the dish. I tried the flounder on the daily special menu and that was not it. This had to be the worse thing I tried. The cilantro broth was too heavy and the cilantro flavors were overpowering. The flounder even tasted dry. I received a free crab roll and this was tasty. I think we may have went on an off day because I have tried takeout form this place that was delicious, but on this day the food wasn't my favorite. We did overall enjoyed our experience and time and I would recommend giving this place a try! We ordered a total of 5 dishes and everything seemed very authentic to Sichuan cooking. With Sichuan cuisine though, a lot of the food will be on the oily side, so keep that in mind. - Eggplant In Spicy Sauce (5/5): Definitely order this dish! You can tell the eggplant was prepared well because it retained its beautiful purple color and luscious shape. The flavor was sweet and savory seeped well into the eggplant. My only comment would be that there wasn't a strong garlic flavor, but it was still so tasty I think it deserved that 5/5! - Mapo Tofu (2.5/5): I came here specifically for the mapo tofu but was left a bit disappointed. The flavor was pretty good and had that strong Sichuan pepper spice that lingers after a while. My issue with the tofu was the consistency of the sauce. I found it to be very thick and clumpy in an unpleasant way, almost like eating little gelatin pieces. I would probably come back to try it again just in case this was a bad batch, but it's hard to compete with wanna boa's mapo tofu. - Spicy and Crispy Chicken (4/5): Pretty juicy and crispy chicken with a slight kick. I love anything fried chicken so I did enjoy this dish but it was pretty standard and there wasn't much to write about. - Red Oil Dumplings (3/5): Pretty standard oil dumplings. They weren't really spicy which would be good for people who can't handle spice. I think I would've liked a bit more meat filling but overall not bad. - Dan Dan Noodles (3/5): I loved the texture of the noodles but I found the sauce to be kinda slippery which made it hard adhere to the noodles. I also thought the flavor could've been a bit stronger. Service/Ambiance: the interior of this place was super cute, especially the upstairs area. I loved the dim lighting and tiny table lamps which gave this place a cozy romantic feeling. The outside was also interesting with an all black exterior and no sign. That might make it hard to notice or find the restaurant, but that did give it a more hidden feeling which was nice. Parking was also abundant and service was great!

We came with a group of 18 people, and the bill ended up being around $972. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were more impressive visually than flavor-wise. The colorful green fried rice looked unique, but honestly just tasted like regular fried rice. The green beans were overcooked, so they lost the crunch and sweetness that usually make that dish enjoyable. The green curry was extremely spicy, but outside of the heat, it wasn't very memorable. The shaking beef dish looked amazing presentation-wise, but the sauce was too sweet for a savory dish, and the crispy rice pairing just didn't work well for me. I initially thought the duck dish was Peking duck, but it was actually the Jasmine Tea Smoked Duck. Even so, everyone at my table agreed we still preferred the traditional Peking duck style. The duck itself lacked flavor for us, and the skin was soft instead of having the crisp texture we were hoping for. The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and fried dumplings. Most of the other dishes at the table were barely touched. If you're looking for colorful, aesthetically pleasing food and great presentation, you may enjoy this place. But if flavor is your main priority, this spot just wasn't for me personally.
