The service was fast & extremely friendly!!! The lady who served me greeted me with a smile and was really attentive. The food was AMAZING! The shrimp was great and crispy, the dipping sauce was a bit different but still paired well. I liked the additional texture provided by the cabbage! I ordered the Beef Pad See Ew & it was delicious! I love being able to taste the char from the grill! It gives a great boost of flavor!! Also had Thai tea for the first time, has somewhat an earthy flavor definitely an acquired taste that I wouldn't mind trying again lol! I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be my favorite thai place around the cypress area. We recently ordered the same we have been ordering for years- yellow curry, sticky rice, and spring rolls. The curry barely had curry, the sticky rice was gooey not sticky, and the spring rolls well they were all falling apart. They barely gave any peanut sauce with it as well, could only eat one spring roll with peanut sauce. For the price point now, this place is not worth it. read more

Went back for round three of their delicious Pad Thai as I've been craving it for about a week. I opted to get it with meat this time and chose shrimp. At first I thought I was going to be disappointed with the amount of shrimp on it for the price $16.30, but after pouring into my favorite bowl to mix all the yummy goodness together, to my great surprise there were 8 large perfectly cooked shrimps! I went just after they opened and got the regular large portion instead of the lunch portion so I would have leftovers.... Well that didn't happen because it was SO good it ended up eating the entire thing! I'm definitely paying for it now but... WORTH IT lol. They offer vegetarian/vegan options for most dishes as well. My go to appetizers are Tom yum chicken soup and the fried egg rolls. Entree I usually go for level 3 spicy but still able to eat everything while not in pain... Yellow Curry, Pad See Ew (Flat rice noodle stir fried) and the Pad Woo Sen (Stir fried Glass noodles) . We opted to do the red curry and spicy chili beef lunch special. The egg rolls were great and the soup tasted like a delicious chicken soup. Spice level range from 0-4(hottest). For the curry we did a 3, pad kee mao(3), spicy chili beef a 2, and they were all great for our spice tolerance. I'm really picky about my pad kee mao aka drunken noodle and it was perfect! That was some good curry! We stopped by for lunch and I decided to try the green curry. Did not think basil would go in curry but it works! My only complaint is that the scoop of rice it came with was very small (had to order another one). That said, the bowl of curry itself is huge and I think you can order some sides and a curry to share or get some fried rice and curry. She's cooking and she's making sure your dish is up to her standards. Wait staff is friendly and attentive but the dining area does get a little packed. Only odd thing.... It's closed on Tuesday. Why Tuesday? I have no idea. Try the crab Rangoon. Best ones I've ever had and they are pretty cool. If you ever try to make them yourself don't roll the wrappers too tight. Server was excellent, very friendly and efficient. We got the Tom Yum soup and "soft rolls" (summer roll). Both were excellent my husband said the soup was the best he ever had. The summer rolls could have used some cucumber and basil in them. Then we had the Pad Thai and the Cashew chicken. Pad Thai was fresh. Their spice "level rating " was spot on. So easy to pass up for a flashy name or a place with better parking, Thai Chef is honestly worth stopping in for. Their Pad Thai is fantastic and if you aren't feeling like eating a whole entree all of their starters make for a delightful and filling carryover until dinner. I somehow seem to stumble upon this restaurant when I'm in the area and hungry. It wasn't saved, baby girl and I are looking for something to eat while my sun is at a training for basketball. Scrolling through local eats she chooses Thai Chefs - we read the reviews, they're all solid so we decide to pull up have a bite to eat in our free time. The drive there seems familiar, I tell her I think we've eaten here before. Once there, I realize yup we've eaten before and I've eaten here a few times but they aren't saved in my Yelp for some reason. Maybe because I'm rarely on this side of the city idk. Fast forward to the food lol sorry not sorry for the book prior to talking about the actual experience but isn't there always some story leading up to the actual dining experience!?! We decide we're not going to over indulge since this is a fairly late lunch and dinner isn't too far away. We order the fried shrimp rolls, the wings & share a plate of Thai Basil shrimp fried rice. Everything is prepared fresh, plenty of medium sized shrimp in the rice which is always welcomed almost resulting in a need for additional rice for me. The food is yum! The wait staff was attentive and helpful we were looking forward to enjoying a mango sticky rice as our sweet treat but our server let us know it's a seasonal item here and recommended a Thai custard sticky rice as an alternative (we had to pass due the dairy it's prepared with). I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants here in the Houston area and in the Cypress area. This one is the best by far, they make very traditional Thai food. My favorite dishes here are the papaya salad with shrimp and chicken panang curry with Jasmine rice. You can select your heat/spice level, but be careful they don't fool around with their chilis. They offer level 1-5, I always choose 3 or 4 and I love spicy food. So be careful what you choose for your spice level. My favorite dessert is the sticky rice with mango. So ono!! Service is always good they check on you often. It's a small restaurant so if they are busy you may have to wait. Thai inspired look and feel of this restaurant. I enjoy eating here often so come on down and enjoy some delicious Thai cuisine in the Northwest side of Houston. read more

When I went to pick up my food it was empty in the restaurant. I ordered the deep fried shrimp roll (very good served with duck sauce) and the pad see ew. I would have given four stars but the pad see ew was disappointing. Aside from the flavor of the sauce, it was a let down. The beef was too tough. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery despite me specifically stating over the phone to not overcook the shrimp, keep it soft. There was an unidentifiable, odd piece in the dish. It looked like squid possibly. After encountering that piece and spitting it out it ruined my appetite and I threw the remainder of the dish away. This restaurant is out there for me even when I'm in the Cypress area. Won't be giving this one a second chance. Buyer beware. read more

HONESTY is my middle name! Therefore, I'm going to keep it extremely honest with you all on this review ! The Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp is absolutely delicious! I've just discovered this little restaurant on Barker Cypress literally four minutes away from my house. My husband and I usually order our food to go but we wanted to try the dining experience since we enjoy their food so much! First and foremost: cleanliness is one of my biggest pet peeves. The table where the hostess sat us was not fully clean. My seat was covered in food crumbs and hair, which means they do not clean the chairs or the booths after each guests! Lucky for me I carry sanitizing wipes in my purse so I cleaned the seat myself! The table however was really clean. We received prompt service considering we were the only guests at the time. Secondly, the food was delicious! We ordered the fried shrimp rolls as an appetizer and for our entrees we ordered the Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp and the papaya salad with shrimp! My husband's rice was delicious as it always is. I ordered the papaya salad and it was absolutely delicious until I bit down on something hard and it sounded like I was crunching on egg shells. The noise was so loud that my husband asked me, "what's that noise?" I had no idea what it was so I had to spit my food out into a napkin. I discovered hard pieces of plastic as I spat the food out into the napkin. I was flabbergasted and in disbelief at what I had found. I could have been hurt badly if it had been pieces of glass instead of hard plastic. We took a picture of it and sat it on a napkin and we showed it to the hostess/waitress. She was extremely apologetic and offered to take it off of the bill which is cool but I told her that it wasn't necessary. I didn't mind paying the bill at all but I brought it to their attention so that they will be more careful in the future because they will have a lawsuit to deal with if anyone gets hurt from consuming hard pieces of plastic. Thirdly, the customer service was excellent! Our hostess/waitress was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. In conclusion, I don't think I will ever dine here again let alone order any to go food. I'm extremely paranoid from this experience. Would have given them five stars but they lost one star for the dirty seat where I was seated and lost another star for the hard piece of plastic that was in my papaya salad. I gave them three stars for great customer service and delicious food that was served fresh and hot! Side note: the parking is very limited. However, there's more parking located in the back of the restaurant if you so desire to give them a try. It is not my intention to discourage anyone from visiting this establishment, but I'm just keeping it real honest with you all. Their fried wings are awesome and are maybe some of the best fried wings I've ever tasted in my life. As I mentioned above, the fried shrimp rolls and Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp are excellent!
