They closed the whole store to accommodate our 12 players! They were timely and even prepared me fresh chicken after they ran out and might I say it was probably the best tasting orange chicken I've ever eaten. I'm gonna start off by saying that our waiter was really nice and friendly. They were honest about their recommendations and very willing to help us out with any of our "hot pot" needs. The restaurant is nice and quiet which is so important to me because i love to run my mouth when im eating out. I got the vegetarian option, which I was grateful for because most of the times hot pot places aren't too accommodating for non meat eaters. Unfortunately my food was lacking a little in flavor. I love the little setup these mini hotpots come in especially because you get your own flame under it. In my Taiwanese hot pot I got a great variety of meat, fish and vegetables, much more than I expected for a great price. Service was timely, waitress was helpful, and it was a nice interior. My biggest critique is the fact that both hot pots I tried (veggie and taiwan) were not spicy in the slightest, like at all, when we got the maximum spice level. The waitress did tell us this would be the case and its clearly because of the white palates here but I was still disappointed by the fact that the hot pots didn't have the signature sichuan spice of malatangs. The numbing spiciness of chinese/taiwanese hot pot is something that sets apart this cuisine for me so that makes me sad. The food was amazing!!! We didn't really expect much because we were just walking around town looking for some warm food, but it really delivered. From the first bite of our Pot Stickers, we knew we were in for a treat. Everything was so flavorful and they didn't skimp on anything. Also, our server, Amber, was really sweet and made sure multiple times that we had everything we needed and that there was nothing wrong with our food. On the way to the airport, after a visit with my daughter, and needed lunch. Been struggling to find good Chinese food at home so decided to give this place a try. Boy, was I impressed! Our table overlooking the street was great. The free egg drop soup to start out the meal was delicious! It was a bit before lunchtime, so not busy at all, and the service was very prompt. We ordered lunch specials - I had the orange chicken and my daughter had the sesame chicken. Both were delicious! Nice, light breading and tender chicken on both entrees. While there's plenty of "Americanized" dishes for people who are used to fast-service Chinese fare, this restaurant also has a lot of authentic southeast Chinese dishes. Mandarin House has some gems on the "Chinese Menu" (that you can view in English online ahead of time from their website). The Tomato Eggs and Shrimp (蕃茄蝦仁蛋) is my favorite, and it's prepared exactly how mom makes it! The Mapo Tofu is delicious and the portion sizes for everything I've ordered are pretty big. The sweet n' sour pork with vegetables was delicious and the fried wonton were crunchy, non-greasy, bulky and tasty. The egg soup was the best, it was not too thick or too dilute, it was just right; and it was well loaded. My only but would be the sweet n' sour sauce. Although I appreciated the generosity and quantity, it was a bit too sweet for my palate. In my opinion it needs a little more kick or it has to be more balanced. I spent over 140 on this place, my husband works 2 hours from home and spends 300 in gas weekly. Ok let me tell you, y'all need to steer clear from this place because the food is HORRIBLE and you would think for it being on a busy street it's amazing but no, dry and disgusting. The sauces don't even match the orderes, soggy fucking cardboard, the shrimp taste like chicken because it's so fucking backwards, did y'all deep fry the shrimp because it taste burnt, you don't deep fry shrimp. And the crab ragoons look like my daughters diaper. I wish I could have gotten a refund and I'm so upset it was a waste of money. Y'all high ass college kids or drunken college kids. I'm a huge fan of their soups, especially the large bowl of wonton. Lots of veggies and so fresh. Lunch specials are also reasonable and good portions. Nice family that owns the place. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, and the waiter was super nice. Also, being a college kid, I usually order their food in when I have it. Good dishes: Mandarin sampler, Wonton soup, broccoli beef & shrimp, House chow mein. Iffy dishes: Almond chicken (very odd preparation with deep-friend chicken and no veggies), plain steamed rice (smells like glue), and BBQ pork fried rice (also has a funky smell).
