I think a lot of the negative reviews come from people who don't know what Mongolian grill is. All Mongolian grill places use water to steam the food - even with the water spray bottles, you can still taste the sauces you add. You can add however much sauce you like - I found their recommendations for how many spoonfuls pretty accurate. I always like adding a lot of sauce to my noodles and I found their 6-8 spoonfuls (I added 8) for the medium bowl and found that a correct amount. The cooks saw that I had put some spicy sauce and fish on mine and a kid was right after me with a bowl of plain noodles so they went ahead and cooked the kid's first to make sure that my food didn't containment his. That was very nice, respectful and observant of them - despite it being a bit busy so massive props to that! If you have food allergies, Mongolian grill probably isn't fundamentally for you - but if there are certain flavors/spices you don't like, the cooks try their best to make sure it doesn't get in your food. The price is also excellent - it's excellent food for a great price so I would recommend this to everyone! read more

So we have tried to eat here a few times over the past year of living to Moscow. It seems like it's always closed. But FINALLY one time we tried it and it was open! I was excited! As we moved through the line preparing our food they have pretty similar choices to choose from that we're used to, so that was great also.... My problem came when I got to the front of the line. I have been a restaurant owner and operator for over 35 years. I've been in the restaurant business for 57 years! Born in a restaurant literally! But I have never seen what I saw when I got to the front of the line. I watched as the two cooks were operating the grill and they walked around the grill each one had a huge squirt bottle of water in their hand. I observed as they squirted the food with water the entire time it was on the grill. All that did was wash away all the sauce that the customer put in their bowl and kept the food from cooking naturally on a hot grill. It steamed the food. They did that to my wife and her mom and sisters food. When I got up there I ask to please refrain from using water and you would have thought I commuted a crime. They told me the water was to keep the food from sticking to the grill. My reply was, that's the reason I put oil in my bowl! Use oil, not water. They said the grill will get all charred up! Exactly is what you want is for the grill to char up.. I would throw those water bottles in the garbage! My sister in law said her food tasted mushy because of it. Mine was cooked in water because I asked them not to. If the teriyaki sauce had a better flavor I would have given more stars but it wasn't great! I would love to see this restaurant packed and supported by the locals, but it will never happen with water as a base to cook with. read more

Service was great but very awkward as they micro-watch your every move. I feel like if you're going to put a price for something stick to it and stop watching people as they serve themselves. It was uninviting with their threatening signs! " no sharing amongst adults" seems pretty whack! What if I wanna share with my partner and try their food. Felt like that was the worst thing ever there. Their sauces also mid and no salt water. I get that the Mongolian sauce is salty but I would like to determine how salty I want it lol! Kind of the wrong grill my friends. The grill slants inward and all of the sauce goes to the middle so they only cook one persons food at a time. Usually at the Mongolian restaurants that I've been to they cook like 8 people food at the same time. The place is nice and quiet. A little too dark for my taste but can't really complain. It's the only Mongolian BBQ restaurant in Moscow, and if you're really in the mood, by all means go ahead. I've been here many times. Be warned that while you can put whatever kind of sauce, oils, and spices in your dish as you want, you will probably not be able to taste much of anything by the time you get it back from the grill. They (sometimes quite literally) POUR water onto your dish the instant it hits the grill, no matter how much liquid you've added. So all that delicious barbecue, curry, and chili sauce you've added has just left the building. You get a dry, relatively bland bowl of noodles back for your effort. There's a new Mongolian place on Stadium Way in Pullman that does not ruin your dish. Try it instead. read more

Oh man, this restaurant brings back some memories. I came here the first time when I was a freshman in college with a girlfriend who told me that the secret to getting the most bang for your buck was to shove as many vegetables and noodles in my bowl at the buffet as I possibly could. She promised me that the master griller would somehow be able to fit it all into my bowl at the end of the show -- that I shouldn't worry if my cupeth overfloweth with-eth noodle-eth. She was right! They have a variety of sauces, vegetables, and meats. They are quick and they will cook your food in and expertly manner. The facility is clean, well lit, and well-staffed. The staff is really nice and professional for a food facility. They are also dirt cheap so if you're on a budget this is a good place to go. Love mongolian. Drove way out of my way to eat here. Specifically asked if they had a good cook that understood english, and i was SERIOUS. The answer was yes, great cooks. Ordered it cooked extea extra extra well done. Want to see some brown, even a little black works. I couldnt get them to understand. I tried everything to distract them to let it cook to no avail. Great variety of ingredients and sauces--if the food doesn't taste good, it's probably on you. I've noticed a lot of people go light on the sauce. Don't! Sitting in the restaurant as I write this. There is a medium sized veggie selection and medium sized sauce bar. The meat was well trimmed with large pieces. The older cook seemed to care about the food he cooked, but the younger just slapped it around the cooking surface losing part of my dinner. Not good when charging by the bowl. The hostess that serves rice and water left the restaurant several time to smoke and walk about shopping center and never washed her hands. If that detail gets fixed we will be back. read more

As other people have posted, they use so much water in cooking on the grill that all the flavorful sauces you added to your bowl get watered down and washed away. The best restaurant in town next to my own home cooking. They have to use lots of water because of the 700 degree temperature they have to bring the food up to and if you use the suggested amount of sauces you will only taste the delectible flavors of your dish. This definitely isn't the worst I've had for Asian-type food. Like other reviewers, I experienced the water dousing on my food, so the sauces were washed away. Next time I'll actually try putting much more sauce on and maybe more on after grilling so I can taste the sauces and oils, but the food besides this was acceptable. I think the noodles were a tad under cooked. I had some leftovers and recooked them in some soy and terriyaki at home and it was fine, so besides using too much water when cooking, I'd say this place is okay. read more
