This is a nice little bakery and coffee shop right off Yonge and centre. The folks that run the place are super nice, friendly and patient with questions. I liked that the pastries are not overly sweet but full of flavour. Will buy again and try some other stuff. The inside is very comfortable with seating and tables. I would recommend giving them a try. It will be a change of pace for sure from the run of the mill stuff that's available out there. We enjoy Ted the espresso and green team tiny puffs the most.

Their main location is in Mississauga, and they expanded to North York a few years ago. Service is nice and cheerful, making you feel quite welcome. I like their drink selection that has some interesting things like black sesame latte, tiramisu latte, and grapefruit tea. Their dessert select is good too, with things big and small. Their rolls and cakes are excellent, with plenty of cream, not too sweet. The cakes are beautifully glazed and decorated. The sweet potato cake is fluffy and light. The mont blanc has a nice chestnutty flavour, but is a bit too sweet for my liking. At the moment, they are selling Korean dubai chewy cookies, but we'll see how long this fad lasts...

But she was right LOL. It was really good, and it was even better than the desserts at the restaurant we had dinner at that night. We cut the 6" cheesecake into 12 small pieces, and it was perfect for a sweet little treat at the end of our meal :) The staff were courteous and ready to help. It was quite busy even on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There are also tables inside the shop for dining in. Other than whole cakes, they do have slices of cakes available and other mini desserts + a lot of macarons! We did request the shop to write HBD on the cake, but the staff said they are unable to do it at this location (not sure why, maybe don't have the proper tools?). We also tried asking for a candle; we ended up having to buy a pack of 6 candles at the shop :\

The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The espresso here is excellent - well-bodied in flavour, medium roast (I think?), and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the cakes & pastries. We shared the cream & crumb cheesecake (simple, classic, and incredibly creamy!) and tiramichoux (think a tiramisu profiterole - such a fun twist!). Looking forward to my next visit already :)

I don't usually have gluten-free cakes, but I wouldn't know it's gluten-free at all. The texture is slightly different, but not a turnoff. I think, in terms of sweetness, it's not too sweet--but maybe, since I'm sensitive to sweetness, it's just a tiny bit sweeter than I would've liked, but still enjoyable. Love the fresh cream layers and berries. Since their gluten-free cake tastes this good, I'm curious to try all their other non-GF treats I've seen at their treat counter next time.

Looking back at past reviews from others, there are complaints about prices, but look where inflation has brought us... Most buns, even the quite large ones, are under $3. And the usual buy-6-no-tax. They take credit cards. I do really like their mochis, especially the black sesame one. And their garlic bun is also good too. Haven't tried any of the cakes, as I don't like cream that much. It's not like the premium spots I'm used to, with a smooth, perfect exterior. Instead, it's a bit bumpy and there's a bit of mystery about what's inside. They were selling them for $7.50 for 2 or $4.50 for 1. Now, I'm kind of kicking myself because now that I've tried one, I wouldn't mind getting the deal for two. Unlike the Japanese-style crepe pockets that are filled with fresh cream, they opted for some cake pieces and lots of fresh mango. Not bad at all! I enjoyed it! Mangos are sweet and fresh. The service staff at the front counter were nice. Note that I was spoken to in Cantonese, even though I hadn't said a word yet! Well, they got me right; I do understand, so all good.

Walking in, the place was busy after dinner and seemed chaotic as people had moved chairs away from tables so we had to make a new table set up with chairs. We looked at the menu and were confused with what's in each of the desserts. Luckily the cashier , where you order and pick up food from was patient. After some explanation we decided to place our orders and were told the ingredients are not ready. Long story short, they ended up making a fresh batch of taro paste for the dessert and replaced the mini potato balls with original sized ones after I pointed out that was not what was on the menu. The taro balls were fine, potato balls were mushy and the freshly made taro paste needed to be cooled down. Overall, it's food court quality dessert at its best and take note to compare what you receive with the photo displayed as they substitute things on the fly. Would I go back? Probably not unless they improve the ambience, ingredient control, customer service and food quality. Sadly, it didn't live up to its hype.

The store is located next to mall entrance 4. There is plenty of parking in the evening during weekdays. The storefront is beautiful. Their coffee machine has different designs to choose from. I also like that you can get dairy-free options in your latte, such as oat or almond beverage. I loved my latte. It had a touch of sugar, which I appreciated. It tasted yummy and hit the spot. This dessert place is known for making sweet sushi. It looks like sushi, but in dessert form. It takes three days to make one sweet sushi roll. It looked like a lot of work to put it together. I have had the Oreo sushi. It was sweet, but not to the point where I felt that my teeth were disintegrating in front of me. I loved how soft the interior was and how nicely it held together by the chocolate exterior coating. Yummy! What brings me back to this store is the fine assortment of desserts. The store also has sugar-free options that I dig. I've had the following items so far: - Lemon macaron - Lemon tart - Cake pop (sugar-free) - Magnum filled with mousse The lemon macaron was awesome. I love tart lemon and this macaron had it. The lemon tart was equally as tart (pun unintended, but it's kind of funny that it should be) and delicious. It had more crust than I would have liked, though. I'm more of a filling person. Delicious nonetheless! The cake pop was moist and yummy. It was the right portion size, except that I wanted five more of them. It was delicious. The magnum was super delicate. I loved the white chocolate on the outside and the decadent mousse inside. It was a bit heavy that I couldn't hold it by the stick and eat it. All of these goodies were not overly sweet. It felt decadent eating each dessert item. It was nice treating myself to these goodies. I will give a croissant a try next time. There's so much to check out, including cakes and cheesecakes. Staff are warm and helpful. I love that they describe each dessert item that I'm curious about with so much passion. I'll be back again for more. (326)
