Super cutely decorated shop with seating on Dundas West. The person working there greeted me with a smile and took the time to explain some of the items. I was looking for "not too sweet" and she was able to make a good recommendation. Also asked if I wanted my scone heated. When I asked back if it was better heated or not (as it had chocolate chips), she said if I preferred the crunch of the chips, I should have it at room temperature so I did that. I personally am not a fan of these scones... lacking when it comes to the crispy/light exterior and fluffy/soft interior combination. Reminded me of cold Red Lobster biscuits. Not enough butter perhaps? And I felt like the flour flavor was coming through, in a slightly icky way. Also thought the shop was slightly overpriced. (I still prefer Kitten and the Bear so much more, but alas, they have no seating.)

I'd been meaning to check this place out for a while and finally got the chance -- and I'm so glad I did! I love supporting local businesses, especially when the prices are fair, the food is full of flavour, and everything is clearly made with love and care. There's also a great variety of options to choose from. The space itself is beautiful. The front seating area has large windows that let in just the right amount of light and offer a perfect view for people-watching -- all without the noise of street traffic. The backyard patio is an absolute gem: cozy, charming, and it makes you feel like you've stepped outside the city for a moment. The couple behind the counter were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took great care with our order and had helpful recommendations too. My friend had the matcha latte and matcha scone -- both were packed with rich matcha flavour. I went with the blueberry scone and an iced caramel latte. When they brought it to our table, they even offered to adjust the sweetness if needed -- such a thoughtful touch! We ended up staying for a couple of hours, just soaking it all in. There's plenty of seating both inside and out, and I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more. They even have scones and other cute items available for takeaway. This place is a real hidden gem!

The viral "happy scone day" sign I saw in instagram made me go to this scone cafe, and I don't regret it! The cafe is not big, but very cozy! I arrived there around 3pm, but most of the scones sold out. I ordered a chocolate scone, matcha latte and ice latte. The staff reheated the scone for me. The matcha latte and latte was average, i like the matcha latte from somewhere else better. However, the Scone was perfectly flaky and light. Definitely one of the best scone i had.

Best scones ever!! Visiting Hiya for the first time after a friend's recommendation, and it was literally love at first site :) It was the cutest little shop on Dundas Street West with the MOST AMAZING scones in Toronto! We couldn't help but order 5 of the 8 scones and devoured it over a delicious cup of hojicha latte :) The scones were crispy on the outside and very soft and light on the inside. I could seriously eat a dozen in one go lol. The Butter Caramel Scone was my absolute favourite, and my friend loved the Matcha White Chocolate! They also serve bottled alcohol on site, and I highly recommend the Kagua Lager Beer . . . Note: We went right when they opened! They sell out super fast

Cute coffee shop offering scones on Dundas West. The store sells fresh scones and drinks. There are also frozen scones, trinkets, and other beverages for sale. The cafe surprisingly has a lot of seats in front of a large window, in the back, and patio which is opened seasonally and is dog friendly! We ordered a matcha scone and coffee to go. The scone was well packed, and they ensured that the cream wouldn't go everywhere in the packet. Accessibility: The washrooms are downstairs. There are a few steps into the store. No ramp.

The cute seating in the window drew us into this one besides the recommendations. The main area is mainly floor to ceiling windows which has tones of natural lighting and light wood. It was too hot for the back patio but it looked nice and secluded. The main room is minimalistic with clean wood and white furniture and was quiter than the window seating in front. The scones are well cooked with a lot of butter and tones of different flavors. The coffee itself was pretty good as well. It was pretty rich ans creamy which is what I look for in a capachino.

This place has some absolutely incredible scones... probably the best you'll find in Toronto! Each scone has a unique and delicious flavor profile, so you can't really go wrong whether you choose a savory or sweet scone. Both the Sweet Lime and Tomato-Basil were winners!! It's a cute ambience inside (especially the window nook) so if you have time stay and enjoy with a cup of coffee, I would definitely recommend.

We got the chive bacon scone and the sundried tomatoes scone so yummy along with a iced tea. There is outside seating on a cute patio. There is also a seating area downstairs that is a camping theme. Bathroom was also super clean! Service was very nice. They also offer cream or whipped butter with the scone.

Came here on a Tuesday morning and was the only one in the cafe. I've been so so excited to check this place out as someone who loves scones and was overwhelmed by their selection (everything sounded so good). I ended up getting the butter caramel scone and the sundried tomato basil cheese for dine in and ordered another four to go (not pictured - sweet lime, another sundried tomato basil cheese, raspberry white chocolate and matcha white chocolate). The scones are about $5.50 each and come with either mascarpone cream or whipped butter. For the size, it is a bit pricey (and can easily add up if you want to try multiple flavours like me hehe). I also got the latte ice cream for $6.50. There's also the option to buy frozen scones that you can reheat at home. My favorites among the scones would definitely have to be matcha white chocolate and the butter caramel. I found the sweet lime a little underwhelming (I believe only the coating had lime, the scone itself didnt taste like it had lime) and the other scones tasted as expected. The latte was a fun drink and not overly sweet - it seems like it was mainly sweetened by the scoop of ice cream. The decor is so fun and I loved sitting here for a few hours reading and journaling. There's also an additional room in the back that's worth checking out too! They also have fun touches like stickers that you can take for each of their scone flavour. Service was great and friendly! Excited to come here with some friends and to try new scone flavours that come out.

Cute spot!! I tried their sweet lime scone and cappuccino. They have seating in the front with a view of the street and also some seating in the back too. It's a small space so coming in pairs is more ideal if you are planning to sit down. If in the area I would recommend. Great for a coffee date or with friends.

The matcha latte ratio was about 1:5, the milk kinda masked most of matcha flavour. Very light on taste but not what I prefer personally. But the scone was really good, definitely would get again.

Hiya Scone and Coffee is Toronto's newest café located on Dundas West near Beaconsfield. They serve a variety of sweet and savory scones as well as coffee and teas. The shop has seating for you to enjoy your baked goods and coffee and is open every day. A few scone flavours may change from time to time but they likely have some old favourites that will never get taken off the menu. I stopped by Hiya Scone and Coffee on a Tuesday morning about 30 min after they opened. To my surprise there were already customers there. I opted to get a savoury scone and got the sundried tomato, basil and cheese scone with a hot matcha latte. For the scones you have a choice between salted butter (savoury) or cream (sweet). I opted for the salted butter. Sat down at the front bench and my drink was brought to me. Food wise the scone was delicious! Texture was perfect and it paired well with the butter. My matcha latte was delicious as well - not too sweet for me but you had the option of adding more sugar if you would like. I thoroughly enjoyed my mid-morning snack. Staff were also extremely friendly and the shop is cute and welcoming Definitely will return to try more of their sweet and savoury scones!

To be honest, the store and decor are so much better than the original store. Maybe because there's usually more traffic in the PATH, so it takes more time for them to keep up? But $12 for a small drink that's mostly ice is a tough sell. Two drinks and a breakfast sandwich came to $36, which stung a little more when we sat down for a full lunch for two people right after for a similar amount. To put it in perspective: a venti matcha latte with milk alternatives at Starbucks run under $8. When did Starbucks become the budget option? The cafe itself is cute and the staff were genuinely friendly, which counts for something. But there weren't any proper tables to actually sit and enjoy your drinks, which felt like a bit of an oversight for a cafe experience. The drinks were fine. Mine had a sparkling milk in it, which was a fun and unique touch. But in terms of taste, nothing really wowed me or made me want to order it again. The breakfast sandwich was a letdown too. Honestly, a McMuffin would've been more satisfying. Cute spot with good energy, but the value just isn't there. Hard to justify coming back when so many other cafes in the city deliver more for less.
