We came here on a friend's recommendation and are delighted, ended up coming twice in a week, bringing more friends with us to try the nice food served here. The restaurant is In what is popularly called Little Tibet. The place is small, about 8-10 tables, and the largest seating is for 6 people. Neat, bright, and cosy interiors are welcoming. The staff is friendly, always smiling, so easy to speak to. The food is simply amazing. The flavours, scents and colours are irresistible. We've tried the momos (both steamed and fried, veg/chicken/beef), fried noodles, pork... each dish is better than the other. The salted Himalayan butter tea was a lovely surprise and I can't get enough of it. The food can be spicy, I love it, but do let them know in advance based on your tolerance. A gem of a place, will definitely visit again.

Tasty Tibetan Food $50 for two . This is our second visit to this place and we discovered it back when it was just 3 month old. It feels like a personal achievement, now that it is one of the most popular Tibetan joints in Toronto. It's A-class in Food, Service and Ambiance. Some of the must-haves from my two visits are: - Dry Laphing (Veg) - Sweet Corn Soup (Veg) - Fried Rice (Veg) - Manchurian (Veg) - Steamed Momos (Veg) My husband's Non-Veg recommendations - Shambhala Special Fried Chicken - Chili Chicken You could avoid Hot & Sour soup as I personally found it to be too thick for a soup and Pan-Fried Momos as those are a bit too oily. The prices are affordable - well within the budget for college students and working professionals alike. The service is extremely homely and you'll be immediately comfortable. It is a humble joint but extremely spick and span clean and neat washrooms. You'll get authentic Tibetan vibes with Prayer flags and Tibetan photographs. Highly recommend this place.

Mixed feelings about their momos. (Pan fried beef momos & steamed chicken momos)…read moreHave to tell you first, I only had momos for take-out. So my review is quite limited... Loved the wrapper's texture and favour. Not too thin, not too thick. Hand pleated. Nice pure wheat-y flavour. No machine made tastelessness nonsense, which I really appreciated! But the fillings were under-seasoned, felt dry and bland to me. And many of the momos came with their wrappers torn - which may explain their dryness. When waiting for my order, I enjoyed its atmosphere - the unassuming outlook and hippy-way interior, very Kensinton-like place! May be better suited for eat-in, to feel the total ambience to boost my food experience.

Our server was excellent giving us an overview of their signature dishes such as Thenthuk (Tibetan noodle soup) and Tingmo (steamed bread) and these two items go perfectly together...loved it! We also had their Cajun-chilli beef Momo (dumplings) which was delicious. I enjoyed almost all the dishes but I wasn't a huge fan of their steamed chicken Momo as the skin was a bit thick and the meat was a bit dry in the dumpling...probably better if it was deep fried. And I must mention their Chili Chicken was a bomb. And the prices were very reasonable ranging from $13 to $15 per dish. For the four of us, the total bill was $82 including taxes for 4 main dishes, an appetizer and 2 smoothies. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we'll definitely be back!

Food 4/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 4/6 Food: We ordered the meat platter, salmon momo half plate, & sho-go momo. For dessert we had the deep fried banana. Everything was delicious & freshly made. We really liked the sho-go momo (potato & onion). The deep fried banana is good too. Not too much batter which I liked a lot. I would definitely eat here again. Service: It's a little slow because there are only two people running the restaurant when we visited. They both were doing the cooking & serving. Hubby & I didn't mind because we weren't in a hurry. I think they should have some waitstaff to help them out. Ambiance: It's a clean restaurant. There are prayer flags strung up from the ceiling. The music they play sounded like monks chanting. It's a very relaxed vibe. On a hot summer day it was nice, breezy & cool inside. It felt nice at first but I started getting cold after a while. Their bathrooms are in the basement & we're also clean. The ceilings are a little low in the basement so you have to watch your head. All in all it was an enjoyable lunch. My favourite was the sho-go momos (potato & onion).

Food: 3 Stars Service: 3.5 Stars…read moreAmbience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Satisfied Each time I wander Greek town and see this place I promise that I would try it next time as I am a big fan of all sorts of dumplings. Well today I finally decided to make good on that promise and while I was not blown away it was a positive experience overall. The first thing I noticed about the menu was how many momo options were available. A lot of different choices from your basic chicken/beef/pork to butter chicken momos so lots of options. I ended up just getting a half plate of steamed pork momos along with the chilli chicken. The momos were pretty average in terms of taste even when I used the sauces provided. Perhaps the fried version would have been better but I definitely was underwhelmed with this one. As for the chilli chicken, the flavour was decent and for those who love saucy dishes like me this one is not saucy at all. I asked for a 5-6 on a scale of 10 for spiciness and it definitely had a bit of a kick but nothing too spicy. In terms of taste it was decent however I found the chicken to be a bit on the dry side but not too bad. The folks there were super friendly and overall service was not bad. The food arrived quickly too which was a good thing as I was hungry. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant and it was spaced out nicely so it was comfortable to be in. There were a lot of cabinets with different items in them so it might be interesting to look around while you wait for your food. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
