A bit of a hole in the wall in Yorkville. The dumplings were flavourful and juicy. You get to choose your choice of protein filling. We went with the pork and beef fillings for steamed regular and steamed chilli sauce. We did not expect the bell peppers and there was definitely a sweetness to the sauce. Having tried other momo spots, this is not the best or the worst. Nice spot for a quick and easy meal. Just be warned, there aren't that many seats!

Steamed vegetarian Momo with butter chicken sauce

Great little restaurant serving momos near Yorkville. The momos were freshly steamed and very reasonably priced (8 momos for around $12-13). I tried the steamed vegetarian momo with butter chicken sauce, which was creamy and not spicy at all, adding a nice richness to the dish. There are different types of sauces available: - Butter Chicken: A creamy, mild sauce with no spice, perfect for those who enjoy a rich flavor without heat. - Jhol: A traditional Nepali sauce with tomatoes, sesame seeds, and spices. It brings a savory depth to the momos. - Chat: A tangy sauce with a touch of sweetness and spice, inspired by Indian street food. It has a zesty flavor with a hint of tamarind. - Chili: A bold, spicy sauce with a slight sweetness, made from fresh chilies, for an extra kick. - Kurkure: A crispy coating option for the momos, giving them a crunchy, savory layer. Not a sauce, but adds a satisfying texture when double-fried or coated in a batter. The restaurant space is small, with seating for around 10 people only.

I wanted to come here for a long time, as I heard about their Parkdale location's good reputation. However, the food was a bit disappointing, unfortunately. We ordered steamed beef momos, but the skin was torn, and the filling was dry. :( The flavor was good though, hitting a nice balance of meaty punch and spiciness! Just wanted them juicier.

I tried different flavours but the butter chicken has always been my favourite! Make sure to eat it with the chilli sauce.

Butter chicken! Ilove their butterchicken dumplings. It is such a nice comfort food, well seasoned and fresh every time i order. Price is fair for the portions they give you.

I ordered some Chilli Chicken and Butter Chicken Steamed momos to go, which were so flavourful and slathered in delicious sauces. At around $13 for a set of 8 momos, these are definitely worth it. I'm excited to try more flavours and the fried version of the momos!

The MoMo House did momos right. They have a wide variety of options, with the butter paneer momos being the tastiest (in my opinion). Think masala mixed with dim sum. The steamed veggie dumplings are also great, just a bit more plain. I appreciated the mix to balance out the heavier butter momos. The mango lassi was the perfect way to round out the spiciness and heat of the restaurant. Couldn't give this 5 stars because of the inconvenience of the location. There aren't many tables, it was super hot, and no water unless you buy bottles. This felt more like a takeout spot, but simple changes could have made it a bit more friendly. Still, I would recommend the food to anyone looking for a quick and yummy into to momos!

Stopped in for lunch here. You walk down a skinny store to the back counter to order. There are tables along the left side. I liked that it was a small menu as that meant, to me, that they specialize, and I'm a big momo fan. There were a few versions available, the steamed ones are what I ordered; they had fried and you could choose from 4 styles (beef, pork, vegetarian and another I don't remember). I picked the pork steamed momos and picked dine in on the payment screen. They delivered the hot momos in a pretty copper hammered bowl. They were good, but were missing the bit of broth I enjoy inside the dumpling. Not nearly what I'm used to, from the momo shops in little Nepal on the west side of the city. More expensive, but they are downtown. But definitely worth a try and way more convenient for me today. As to atmosphere, it's pretty basic. The tables were clean and had a cute little plant on top. Every few minutes the rumble of the subway could be heard (maybe felt). There's a table at the front window. The window on the right side overlooked an indoor hall and a pharmacy.

Good MoMo's in the neighbourhood, service is nice & friendly & the prices are reasonable. The butter chicken flavour is the one I usually get.

Conveniently located right outside of Bay station, this hole in a wall location is great for a quick eat. My partner and I were craving momos randomly and went here. I really like the chili sauce they poured over the momos The fluorescent orange sauce complemented the momos very well and we devoured the dumplings within minutes as soon as it came. It was hot but delicious! You can't really go wrong with momos!

I really wanted to like this location. I have met the owner at the Parkdale location and he is so kind. However, the service and the way they structure this location is bad. Firstly, there is no water unless you purchase bottled water. Service is no where to be seen. You order first (and be prepared you will be tipping first). Then you realize the lack of service you'll get. They will give your food and that's it. You even have to put away your dishes. As for the momo's I was hoping I could mix and match. You use to be able to do this in the Parkdale location. However, not here. Therefore, if you are eating alone you'll only be able to try 1 flavour. Prices have gone up since I last visit the Parkdale location during the pandemic. I really hope they change up the way they serve. Provide jug of water for your customers. Provide a smile to them and offer to mix and match so your customers are able to try different kinds of delicious momos.

Simple clean interior

I tried the MoMo House in Parkdale a few years ago, so was happy to discover this location downtown. It's right next to Bay Station and perfect for a quick bite. We went with steamed MoMo - one beef, one pork, one chilli momo and one with butter chicken sauce. The MoMos here came hot and delicious. What really impressed me at this location were the sauces. Momos I've ordered along the Queen West strip are sometimes a little dry, with not much sauce on offer. These, in contrast, were swimming in it and the chilli sauce had a great spicy kick and a decent handful of red and green bell pepper chunks and onions. The interior is simple and comfortable, the service was efficient and friendly, and the price point was perfect for a generous and filling portion!

***UPDATE!! ORIGINAL REVIEW IS BELOW*** SO THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS REACHED OUT TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEIR MOMOS ARE HANDMADE AND THE SHELLS ARE THICKER! THIS I DID NOT KNOW! BUT DEFINITELY WOULD POP BY TO TRY THE REST OF THEIR MENU! THANK YOU MOMO HOUSE TEAM! ******************* we were so stoked to check this place out, but left pretty disappointed. dont think we like the actual taste of the asian fusion dumplings. great concept but the taste was off for our pallet. worth the try, but steer away from the beef ones. too dry, gritty and got chewy veins in it. we each tried 1 bite (not dumpling, just a bite) and left the rest untouched. we got the beef jhol, chicken dumplings with butter chicken sauce, and the fried pork dumplings. The wrapper/shells were very thick and chewy. Though its nice that you can pick which type of dumpling you want and they can cook it and dress it up to the sauces you choose! service was great and friendly.

Close up of kurkure mono. It's pretty!

Nothing special. It's like me mixing the dumpling and sauce from Costco. That's the level.

Not a bad spot, it's a bit pricey but the quality of food is what makes it worth it - definitely worth experiencing when in the area.

By the time we left, there was waiting to get a table. And for a good reason. The food is exceptional, got the tandoori chicken momo, chicken lollipop and Himalayan special fried rice. Everything was amazing. The lollipops are killer, highly recommend them but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. Will definitely recommend this place. We also had the tamarind mojito which was so good and refreshing.

They have a very extensive menu with plenty of options. We ordered steamed chicken momo, chicken curry, mutton thali, sha baley, and kurkure momo. Total after fees and tip was $125. It's a lot of food. We weren't able to finish it all. The steamed momo was very good. That was probably the favorite. However the choice for filling of the momos is limited. You only have chicken or veggie. Seeing order photos of menus from two years ago they used to offer beef Himalayan momos. The chicken curry was very filling! But it made a bit of a mess. Packaging could be improved. The mutton thali was well received. The components were packaged separately. So some assembly is required. The yogurt is sweet. The kurkure momo was very crispy and fresh. But all of the sauces (3 or 4) included were spicy. I would have liked a mild option. It's a little too dry to eat without a sauce. The sha baley is a bit like an empanada. It was very good. They're quite big. I'd say each one was the size of my hand. Very filling. They came in a paper bag. It's pretty tasty food with a good value!

Food 4/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 4/6 Food: We ordered the meat platter, salmon momo half plate, & sho-go momo. For dessert we had the deep fried banana. Everything was delicious & freshly made. We really liked the sho-go momo (potato & onion). The deep fried banana is good too. Not too much batter which I liked a lot. I would definitely eat here again. Service: It's a little slow because there are only two people running the restaurant when we visited. They both were doing the cooking & serving. Hubby & I didn't mind because we weren't in a hurry. I think they should have some waitstaff to help them out. Ambiance: It's a clean restaurant. There are prayer flags strung up from the ceiling. The music they play sounded like monks chanting. It's a very relaxed vibe. On a hot summer day it was nice, breezy & cool inside. It felt nice at first but I started getting cold after a while. Their bathrooms are in the basement & we're also clean. The ceilings are a little low in the basement so you have to watch your head. All in all it was an enjoyable lunch. My favourite was the sho-go momos (potato & onion).

Well today I finally decided to make good on that promise and while I was not blown away it was a positive experience overall. The first thing I noticed about the menu was how many momo options were available. A lot of different choices from your basic chicken/beef/pork to butter chicken momos so lots of options. I ended up just getting a half plate of steamed pork momos along with the chilli chicken. The momos were pretty average in terms of taste even when I used the sauces provided. Perhaps the fried version would have been better but I definitely was underwhelmed with this one. As for the chilli chicken, the flavour was decent and for those who love saucy dishes like me this one is not saucy at all. I asked for a 5-6 on a scale of 10 for spiciness and it definitely had a bit of a kick but nothing too spicy. In terms of taste it was decent however I found the chicken to be a bit on the dry side but not too bad. The folks there were super friendly and overall service was not bad. The food arrived quickly too which was a good thing as I was hungry. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant and it was spaced out nicely so it was comfortable to be in. There were a lot of cabinets with different items in them so it might be interesting to look around while you wait for your food. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
