Had to wait in line for 5 min to order and have now been sitting at the table for 20 min and still no food. Ordered nachos for goodness sake...it's only 1/2 full at 12:15pm. Ate here last night after a disappointing lunch elsewhere! What an amazing food experience.I have eaten here quite a few times now and everything I have had has been a taste extravaganza! The tamales are made fresh daily by mom and they are some of the best I have had. Taste like they were made at home with mother's love. But don't get there too late. Mom only makes so many every day, so they run out because everyone loves them too. Chef Jose makes a fusion torta that is also my favorite. Just a tremendous flavor explosion. This place is fantastic. We just moved to Eugene from Salem, and Mami's is honestly the best Mexican food that I've had in three years since we left California. Ordered the nachos, asada tacos, and a quesadilla. There was ample cilantro on the nachos and tacos, fresh cut onion, generous amounts of meat, and amazing guacamole. 1st visit: The prices were a little off for the portion sizes. 9$ for three bite size sopes is hardly affordable. The Tamales were small and had less meat than I like. My wife and I spent $24 here and we were still hungry. 2nd visit: The regular burrito I ordered "alpastor" didn't have much meat to it at all. It reminded me of a burrito supreme from taco bell. Soft, small and mostly watery beans. They have potential but they need to increase portion size. The regular burrito should have spanish rice in it and should be stuffed with meat. Lots of patrons at the most recent incarnation of this restaurant. They seem to still be working on the flow between he register, the drive-up window, and the kitchen. Nice service at my table, even though this is a you-bus-it place. I are the Green Burrito. Guacamole seems to be lost amongst the other ingredients. The two salsas in the squeeze bottles are really good. A good location for biking to a quick lunch. I agree with another review that things could be greatly improved on the tortilla front. read more

Mami's never disappoints! I love the suadero nachos. I also really enjoy the shrimp tacos. The carne asada burritos are delicious.The servings are huge and everything is super fresh. Well the tamales are pretty tasty as well as the asada tacos. This is my second time here which better because they were out of tamales the first time I came here. I'm gonna say this place will be hit and miss for a little while because they are still very unorganised. But keep on cooking Mami's. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants in Eugene, here's what you need to know about Mami's: -The El Alhambre(sp?) burrito is magical. Mole sauce in a fajita burrito. MAGICAL. -Service is good and food quality is good. I've found the tamales and tacos to be pretty average for Eugene, but the burritos and some of the plate dishes (mole enchiladas, chilaquiles, etc.) have been excellent. -This is a popular joint. They get food out pretty quickly, but when it is crowded, it will take a bit - this is not fast food. read more

My family was visiting and went here. There was a total of 7 of us. No wait, only 2 other customers. I got a torta and nachos. The nachos were big enough for 4 people and was around $10. Most everything was under $10. Everyone enjoyed their food. The only complaint was that they brought out the food 1 at a time. They were super friendly and the place was nice and clean and smelled good inside. We took the food home and the tacos were packed in a way that they didn't fall apart. Food is certainly authentic. But the tacos are very dry. Meat is always over cooked making it a terribly dry taco. Tortas are ok. Slap on some mayo and shredded lettuce with their overly dry meat and walla .... a poor excuse for a torta. Their customer service is not that good. I ordered nachos which were very good, but I don't eat red meat or pork so I asked for chicken and they were out... Surprise me that it was not even 5:30 and they didn't have any chicken. Eugene sorely lacks for good Mexican restaurants, and this is my new go-to. I had the Green Burrito (enormous, delicious), and my husband had the tamales. We both left super satisfied, and I echo other reviewers that the sauces and salsas are really good. Does this place need some polish? Yes. It lacks some ambience if you want to eat in, and the tortillas could definitely be more flavorful. But definitely a welcome addition to the Eugene dining scene. I cannot recommend Mami's enough. Their chilaquiles (which are only served until noon every day) are absolutely divine. I always order them with chicken. It's shredded chicken and it's marinated and just the right amount of crispy -- it's heaven. I've tried all the other meat options on the chilaquiles, and really, chicken is where it's at! read more

Got nachos to go from here. With having kids I always appreciate drive thrus so they have that going for them.i also like how they don't up charge for steak as the protein on the nachos. UPDATE NOV 2018: "they have some sort of magic that they turn into the BEST taco sauce I've ever had, hands down." We've been back three times after taking a three-month break from Mami's. I heard from a former employee that the owners' family had been through some major trauma recently and had to switch hands. I figured I should give them another chance. The last time I went, right at opening, and I saw for the first time the doors were clean! It was a good sign. The rest of the restaurant still has room for improvement, but still drastically better than before. The food was very good. The sauce (fresh batch) is good enough to eat by itself, I mean, really it should be a tourist attraction. I love the saudero tacos and the Porky Burrito. Still want to try the soups, but I just can't bring myself to spend $11 on soup. I tried the rellano once, it was a canned pepper, not fresh; chile rellano is my favorite dish, so if it's not fresh, I don't want to spend money on it. I tried the breakfast burrito and although the fresh salsa was excellent and bright, it was ruined by the addition of seasoned french fries used instead of fresh potatoes. I might try it again with beans instead, but I'm not too excited about the breakfast. I have to reiterate, get the saudero tacos and drink a pint of the sauce, get a pork tamale for later. I'm hopeful that Mami's continues to improve and has great success. They seem like really good people, and they have some sort of magic that they turn into the BEST taco sauce I've ever had, hands down. read more

Worst food ever...asked for no lettuce on my tacos got more lettuce than meat..Meat was greasy and cooked to a crisp. Taco shells were over cooked ,beans and rice were also cold. There were no clean forks so had to wait for the girl to bring out a dish washer basket full of them she grabbed two by the tines and handed them to me..the other dish we ordered was cold and didn't look or taste good... Mami's Mexican Grill does tamales right. They are very good, very authentic. They are currently (despite their posts on other social media), $10 for 2 with rice & beans, or $32 for 12 by themselves. Beyond tamales, Mami's doesn't do anything else right. Customer service is terrible, the menu is over-priced and the rest of the food is ok. If you want to take home really good tamales, Mami's is your place. If you want anything else, it is not. read more
