The food is made with love and you can tell it!!!! Reasonable prices, excellent service and quality of food!!!! Love the setting, reminds me of the old meat and three restaurants we went to when I was younger. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!! You won't regret choosing to go!!!!

So I've tried writing this several times trying to be kind but honest. So here goes, most of the things were from cans, bags or looked like they had been frozen. I didn't recognize any fresh food. Yes even the salad looked like it was from a bag. Maybe the cucumbers were fresh but why would you put sugar on them? I talked with the cook and explained I have food allergies. He was nice and answered my questions. I could have nothing he warmed up (I would say cooked but when you open canned veggies you're only heating them). When I asked the cook if I could have a salad without cheese he said yes but a lady interrupted with an angry "NO we don't have anymore lettuce!" So I picked the cheese off. That salad must have been there for at least a hour because the cheese was melted to the lettuce. I did get sick within 15 minutes of eating. I will not be back, not just because of the food, not just the attitude, not because the floor was filthy but because I was lied to. I came out of the restroom and more salad had been put out. Really you're out of lettuce?!?! So if anyone in charge is reading this, why not serve fresh local food with a couple allergy friendly choices.

Outside and inside. Very clean and homey feeling.

I recently moved to Gallatin Tennessee and every time I jump on Yelp I see this place for home…read morecooked food. Today I realized it was right down the street from me so I stopped by, no one came to the counter right away so I was able to snap a picture of the menu. As I tried to sneak out the owner came to the window and I felt compelled to order a fish plate and wings. I just wanted to check the menu because I knew I wouldn't want to pay $20 for food. I left and came back about 20 minutes later and the food was ready and still very hot. My 2 plates only came out to $13 and change so I was very happy about that. The food taste amazing to say the least. My wings were seasoned perfectly and came with a Buffalo ranch sauce that my mom used to make at home, didn't even know that sauce was a real thing! The fish was perfectly crispy and the coleslaw different, since it had relish and mustard in it, and still very good. The best part of it all to me were the fries, I love how they were seasoned and soft. I could not tell for sure but some of my wings looked like the meat may have been old or previously thawed out, learned that from watching kitchen shows on TV. Still very good and not worth losing a star over. This restaurant is only open Thursday through Saturday and it's tucked off in a neighborhood beside the public works office.

Food is made fresh to order, so expect to wait a few minutes. But then again, all good things come to those who wait. I've lived in this town for my entire life and am deeply saddened that I didn't know about Backstreet Carryout until a month ago. All the glorious meals I've missed. Try them and you won't be disappointed.

Throughout the meal, they checked in and made us feel truly taken care of. They even came by with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies straight off the baking sheet and handed them out for free! The food itself was excellent. They offer great Southern favorites like shrimp & grits and fried chicken, but I went with the fried boneless pork chop. It was perfectly crunchy, full of flavor, and topped with a generous amount of delicious country gravy. Portions are no joke -- I only made it through half before I was stuffed. I did save just enough room to try the cherry pie, and I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic. I can't say enough great things about Local Joe's. The hospitality, the kindness, and the food all make it absolutely worth a visit.
