Well this is not your authentic Mexican food, it is a good deal. The fajitas were for two and came with a side of beans, rice, tortillas, and guac. They couldn't even begin to finish it. I believe they make their chorizo in house, and the fajitas were a mix of chicken, chorizo, and beef. The enchiladas were okay, the green sauce was good, but the filling was lacking in flavor. They also came in chicken, bean, cheese, and beef (ground beef). Service was a little slow, it felt like it took awhile for our check, but our waters were always full. I had the Tacos al Carbon for dinner, and it really hit the spot. Three generous tacos are served with rice, beans, and small salad. I really enjoyed the pico de gallo. This place is great! It was a recommendation by my barber, and listen to your barber because he knows what's up. I drive past it every day but never stopped. That was a huge mistake because it's fantastic! Service was super quick, food was hot and delicious, chips and salsa are amazing, literally no complaints! We went on a Sunday and they had 2 for 1 margaritas which was a welcome surprise :) They don't seem to have standardized glassware so sometimes you get a bigger glass than other times. Really good margarita though! Parking is tricky, I think they have about twice as many spots painted as the space will allow which results in a free for all. Just be considerate of the other cars and it will be fine. Try this place out. Absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Nashville area. Doesn't matter what you order. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Get some toro sauce on the side. It's incredible. I live a solid hour away but I would drive that in a heartbeat. Friends and I often kayak/paddleboard on Old Hickory and this is always our meal after getting off the water. Service is always great. This was a terrific place for dinner on our first night in town. You have to be sharp looking for this place as you approach in your car if you haven't been here before. If you blink you'll probably miss it as it sits in a rather nondescript manner on the side of the road. Finding a good Mexican restaurant is easy if you know what to look for. If it's staffed exclusively by people from Mexico your chances are better than average that you'll enjoy your dinner. Such is the case here. The staff was wonderful the entire time we were there, checking on us often and always with a friendly smile. The food is very reasonably priced, and there's lots of it. My wife ordered the steak fajitas, and my kids each had tacos. I went with the chicken and cheese over rice. All of it was terrific! I was shocked that we received not one but two baskets of chips when we sat down. The chips had that wonderful greasy feeling that comes from using the right amount of oil. I am glad this place opened up right down the street from me! I love their chips and salsa, they are thin and crispy and remind me of Chili's chips but better. The chicken flautas are awesome and their quesadillas are great. We daughter inhaled her steak tacos. I appreciate a restaurant that is very accommodating! My grandmother and I were almost finished eating when they came back and told us they were out of tamales for my grandpas combo meal he ordered. Initially they brought out another combo meal thinking he wouldn't notice and there was absolutely no meat in it. It was spinach & mushrooms. This place is kind of expensive for lunch. From the looks of the menu, so is dinner! All 3 of us ordered lunch specials which were all 8$ a piece, 2 cokes and a water. He spoke so fast, and it was so confusing, we knew the order would be wrong but just accepted it. He wasn't busy. We were the 2nd table he had. But he seemed to be in a rush and kept repeating our orders wrong. We gave up. One order was wrong. But, we had to get back to work so we just dealt with it. The bill was 31$. Two thumbs up! I have driven by here on several occasions and have been drawn to the look of the place. Nothing spectacular, but the log cabin façade is neat. After a stomach stuffing trip to KFC while in Gallatin and a miserable rest of the day, I vowed to never do that again - well at least for a few month. This time I stopped here for lunch. Surprisingly there was only a couple other tables occupied when I arrived. The chips are like we like then, thin like Chuy's, Chili's and a few other restaurants that have chips and dip. I order the lunch Chimichanga. Deep fried just right and served with an ample side of rice and beans. Very enjoyable lunch. I still got more full than I should have, but I have a hard time leaving food on the plate. I did only have the one basket of chips, but did get an extra salsa. read more
