I was in town for just over a week and a half. On one of the first days there, my hubby and I went for lunch. I love that they allow adults to order the kids meals, and even with the $2 upcharge the price was still reasonable. I got a ground beef enchilada, rice and beans. Their salsa was good but had no spice, so I asked if they had something spicy. They brought out a dish of hot salsa. The two combined were great! My hubby left town before me, and I returned one night for dinner. I got the chicken fajita quesadilla. It was huge and tasty, but there's another nearby restaurant that did it better I think. I got the quesadilla because I wanted some veggies. The tortilla didn't hold up well for leftovers. While my second experience wasn't quite as good as the first, I'm still giving them 5 stars for the value for the food that you get, and I know from both experiences that the food is good. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I WOULD. The food was not the best. Below average if I had to rate it. Me and my friend decided to sit outside to enjoy the breeze. We ordered a margarita pitcher to enjoy our food. Along conversation, I noticed a bug in our pitcher. Nobody was blaming the staff at all, my friend mentioned it to the waiter and he took immediate offense. He shrugs his shoulders and said" you are outside, what can you expect". I felt like the customer service went down hill from there. In no way were we asking for the pitcher to be removed off our check or anything like that. A simple "how can we accommodate you or how could we fix this situation" would've been nice. We let the situation go and the server went and got the manager that nobody asked for and the manager basically said the same thing but in a nicer tone/way. AGAIN, we let the situation go and finished chitchatting and the manager approaches again asking if we would like for him to give us something to remove the bug with like to get it out. Im guessing my friend misheard him and said yeah, so then the manager says I'll just take it and remove it for you. Why would I want you to take the pitcher in the back and remove the bug for me?!? I don't know what you'll do/put in my drink especially since this is your solution after the fact so I again declined the offer and why would you think that's a good solution?!? The food was pretty good however for a place to be called Dos margaritas, it was the worst margarita I've ever had. We shared a picture among our family, and I had five glasses, and I could walk straight for a mile with police looking at me and I would not fail the test . They need to step it up with their margaritas and their tequila.. not one of us got even remotely tipsy. That means said they have a really cool Mona Lisa painting with a cat on there and their chili Riano and their tacos were great and their chips and salsa are legit. I should also mention that they have really interesting. Drink names that go beyond sex on the beach, like sex in the driveway.. however, if it's anything like their margarita, maybe they should just keep it in the bedroom. read more

The food had no taste. The taco shells were the same as Taco Bell instead of regular tortillas deep fried. The enchiladas was filled with moshed hamburger no cheese & a tad of sauce. No options for chicken or beef. When I went to pay the bill, the server asked me how I liked everything. I said the server was great, but the food was awful. His reply will we've been here for 23 years so we must be doing something right. I wanted so much to say then why is your restaurant Which is beautiful is so empty. It was us and maybe two others in the whole place if the food was good or exceptional the place would've been packed at any time of day or night. Needless to say we will not be back. Howdy folks. How's everyone on Planet Yelp doing? Well, I'm doing a whole lot better because I've discovered that there is such a place that serves up good Mexican food in the greater Nashville area. And that place is called Dos Margaritas and it's located in a small town called Gallatin. So put on your helmets and strap on your safety belts for this ship is about to blast off. I was first introduced to Dos Margaritas by my good friend, and fellow First Amendment Activist, Silent Citizen last June when I first visited the area. It was somewhat surprising to me that in a metropolitan area as big as Nashville there was such a lack of good Mexican restaurants. Actually, there is a lack of Mexican restaurants period. I guess I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not in good ol' California anymore. But fortunately the little town of Gallatin has one. One of the things that I really dig about this place is the personalized service. So many of these restaurants have these servers that walk around with phony smiles and seem more concerned with receiving a tip that they really didn't earn opposed to providing quality service for their customers. But that's not the case here at Dos Margaritas. You'll get personalized service from servers who sport real smiles and who genuinely seem concerned with providing their customers with an groovy dinning experience. One of those servers is the legendary El Guapo. I call him El Guapo because he's an extremely handsome man. But more importantly than that, he's also very good at his job as he is very attentive to his customers. And that's the sign of a good server. Instead of you having to get his attention, he pays attention to you so as to make sure you have everything you need such as utensils, condiments, drink refills, etc. But more importantly than that, he whips up a mean margarita. Speaking of margaritas, let's get into those margaritas right now. Now for those of you who have followed me on here for any decent of time will know that I am pretty picky when it comes to how I like my margaritas. So many bartenders these days just don't know how to make a good margarita. I say "these days" as if I just came out of the Roaring 20's. Makes me seem old. But on a serious note, I mean what I say when it comes to the difficulties of being able to find a bartender who knows how to make a good margarita. Well, that is not the case with El Guapo. He whips up a pretty mean brew that is filled with flavor that is mixed with enough tequila to leave a delightful taste on your tongue. Now that is my kind of margaritas and the margaritas that El Guapo serves up at Dos Margaritas are better than sex. Ok let's talk about the food now as I can go on and on about how great the margaritas are. The food at Dos Margaritas is absolutely superb. Just as it is hard to find a good bartender these days, the same can be said for being able to find a decent Mexican restaurant. So many of these joints that advertise that they serve "authentic Mexican cuisine" aren't much more of a step up from what you can expect at a Taco Bell. But at Dos Margaritas you will be served quality home cooked food that'll make your stomach believe in you again. That and something else. Wink, wink. Well, I believe you all get the picture with this one. If you ever find yourself in the greater Nashville metropolitan area and want to grind on some fine Mexican food, I highly suggest that you head on over to Dos Margaritas in Gallatin. This is one Helluva place to get you some ono Mexican food. Plus their margaritas will get your head spinning and those love juices flowing with joy. Guess I am spoiled after going so many years to Dos Margaritas in Hendersonville,Tn. We were in Gallatin,Tn. on business, and saw their sign: Specials every day. NOT. No one greated us as no one was at hostess desk;had to call out to be seated. Food was not seasoned at all!!!!!!!!!! Only got through lunch by ordering a Margarita.LOL. To start with the service was fast and friendly. I ordered unsweetened iced tea and took a big swig of sugar tea. I asked for a replacement and my server was very prompt to replace it. The chicken chimichanga dinner was about the same as most other Mexican restaurants except for the chicken was finely chopped instead shredded. It made it feel like it came from a can. Not the most desirable but taste was okay. Also ordered the white cheese dip, that was very tasty. Since I am a traveler, I won't be visiting again any time soon but I would like to try some of the other meals when I return. read more

Noel and I went to the Dos Margaritas Bar and Grill for lunch after shopping at Ollie's and Goodwill. HOLIDAY shopping makes you hungry. I went to Goodwill looking for holiday place mats. After I wash them I am sewing them together to make a blanket for the holiday season. The food here was really good. IT was a Sunday after church so they were packed. I ordered a grilled chicken dish with onions, mushrooms and rice..it was really good. of course I didn't eat it all, I never do..but it was good. From the decor to the food to the drinks, everything screamed medium. Actually, screamed would be too strong a word. Spoke in a monotone would describe it better. A-Ok really sums it up. There were high and low points. Service was quick, though not really engaging. Chips and salsa were tasty and fresh. I especially enjoyed the pico de gallo. The margarita was a miss. Instead of the taste of orange liqueur, e.g., Grand Marnier, in the margarita, it was half orange juice. Kind of a turn off. I had a combination plate with an enchilada, tostaguac and beans. I expected a cheese enchilada but got one filled with very dry ground beef. No cheese even on top and the sauce was sweet. The same dry beef was on the tostaguac and the guacamole was a runny liquid. Thankfully the beans had good flavor and at least I saved some calories by not eating the rest... I wouldn't turn down a meal here, but I'll probably stick with El Rey Azteca in the future when craving Mexican food in Gallatin. read more

My very simple order of a side order steak arrived cold, and when they took it back and they brought a new plate of steak out, they brought out another cold plate of steak. I'm certainly not going to send food back twice in a row. I'm a regular here and although I don't go to the bar, it is great! I almost always order Jim's Nachos with cheese and rice. (shrimp instead of chicken) I. Kid. You. Not. the coke here is the BEST COCA COLA EVER. I do not know how it's possible to have a coke taste like this. but it is. I've tried many other dishes on the menu and they are all good as well (vegetable combo b is a nice choice) you get as much salsa and chips as you want to munch on while you wait (and after too) they taste spectacular as well. I came to visit to visit from Illinois. The sever never asked us what kind of meat or tortilla we wanted. Got our orders messed up. Never will I go there again. This is one of my go to spots in Gallatin to eat. Mainly because I love Mexican food (well Tex-Mex really) and this place is cheap and their food and margaritas are good. By far the worst food I've had in a very long time. The steak had no seasoning on it- the onions and peppers were pretty good. Salsa's are standard, ok, not bad but nothing to talk about. The chick/spinach was alright. Service is SUPER fast so that's ok if you're in a hurry but if you want to chill it's a bit annoying.
