A friend and I have eaten lunch there several times. Typically, while not outstanding, it's been solid. Service in the past has been very good. Had lunch there yesterday. Had a server we've never had before. Horrible service. Before my guest arrived I ordered a fried pickle appetizer. After my guest arrived, and after we placed our lunch orders, I realized we had never received the pickles. Our server was nowhere to be found. I found her in a storage/closet area on her phone. I asked about the pickles. She ran to the back, brought them out, and they weren't hot. Asked for ketchup, and she brought us an empty ketchup bottle. Immediately behind the pickles were our entrées. Asked for a refill on iced tea. It had no ice in it. I left a tip, not a big one as I usually do, but I left one. Now I'm regretting I did. read more

Visited The Local last week with some friends for drinks and bites, and we had such a great time. I'd heard that Tuesday nights are the best for live music -- and it did not disappoint. The musicians were incredible, playing nonstop and bringing some of the best country vibes all night. They've got a great variety of bar food and drinks. Food was okay, but drinks were great... and music, I've said it: fantastic! What really surprised me was how packed the place was for a Tuesday night... clearly a local favorite, and now I see why! Unfortunately, this is the 2nd time there and the service wasn't any better. Waiting to be acknowledged is one thing, but people walking past you avoiding eye contact is another. It would have been nice for someone to say "somebody will be right with you". The order came out wrong twice. I ordered a coors light and received a coors banquet draft. Hey, no big deal. What was upsetting was the attitude I got for saying that's not what I ordered. I literally got the eye roll, and they practically slammed the coors light down without a word. We ordered 2 orders of fish n chips. Out came 2 orders of fried pickles. When we mentioned it was wrong, we got attitude. Like it was our fault. The vibe feels like the people who work there do not want to be there and somehow, they make you feel like it's your fault. It's awkward. Our server let us know about additional apps they had for their updated menu coming out, and we had the southwestern egg rolls from that. The service here is amazing. We had a little double date here and the ambiance was great for that. They had attentive and quick service, good music and a comfy layout. It's fun, casual and spacious. The downside... the food and drinks fell a bit short. We're not picky people but everyone found their food to be a little disappointing. Our least favorite was probably the street corn side. The texture was off/mushy and the flavor was pretty tart... not like cilantro lime in elote, but really rather sour. We got a few Old Fashioneds and they tasted very watered down and as if it had the neon red maraschino cherry juice in it. I am absolutely going to try this place again because the people there are awesome. I think it's a newer establishment, so Im sure they're still working some things out! read more

Great new venue that Hendersonville has been waiting for. If you're looking for a Nashville feel, along with live music and a fun vibrant bar atmosphere this is the spot. The sign by the door says come a stranger and leave a local... I'm told the menu is a smaller modified bar menu until they get fully running, but the food I ate and saw coming out of the kitchen was great. The nachos were plenty and somehow managed to stay crispy but still had enough cheese and pulled pork, delicious. The burgers looked great and were huge. I went here a couple weekends ago with two of my friends from out of town. I was really hoping to have appetizers and drinks and upon getting there the atmosphere was just very bland no music just loud drunk people sitting around tables. We were told that there was no food served at that time just bar service. Instead of being welcomed in the waitress that was cleaning the tables told us oh if you want anything go to the bar, not welcoming or anything. I frequent the original Local quite a bit which I love. It's one of the hidden gems in Nashville. I was eagerly awaiting the new location opening. Its a beautiful building both inside and out. The staff and food are excellent just like the other location. Where it falls short for me is the layout and configuration of the stage and tables. It's like the stage was an after thought and not the primary focus of the room. I sat at the bar and there is a sea of hightop tables between the bar and the stage that sits very low. You can barely see that anyone is even onstage because you have to look through all the people in between. If they just had hightops on the perimeter and low tops in between it would be a great improvment. They should also raise up the stage as well either way. read more

The Local had everyone thinking this is going to be a great spot and maybe in time they will be. The service was bad. Ordered a beer and 10 mins later asked the server again and she stated the bar is backed up. I looked over and could see the beer sitting in the well. I went to the bar ordered a beer and brought back to my table as the server walked back over she stated let me check on your beer and asked if anyone else wanted another drink. They all said no. She then brought us the beer. I get this place is new and it's a holiday weekend but being prepared starts from the top. Where was management presence. The menu was already limited as it was but then they ran out of fries by 3pm well before the dinner rush. To top it off the place was wall to wall of ppl around 6 and the bathrooms were closed which I do believe you can't be open or you have to close if there is no restroom for guest or employees. This place is a cool vibe and the music is awesome. For the burgers we ordered we have no complaints they were really delicious and the service was awesome. The "seat yourself" arrangement is poorly designed; given their high volume of customers, it doesn't quite work. The tables are too close together, making it difficult to navigate when needing to go to the bathroom without bumping into other patrons' chairs. You can tell that I didn't really have time to snap pictures of the food because we all dug in right away. This is one of my BIL's favorite restaurants his favorite burger is the G off burger. I am sooooo picky about my pulled pork and this is some of the best I've had in awhile... besides my favorite bbq in Alabama. 100% get the jalapeño ranch.... For anything. The Local is exactly what Hendersonville needed. Love the Live music, it was at a normal volume, loud enough to hear bur still able to hear people I talked with. Strange visit. I understand this is a new place but I am amazed on the overall dining experience. Walked in and just kind of awkward. Seat yourself. OK, no big deal. For a new place, may have been good for a host/hostess to help explain things. But they are new. It is really a bar with only 3 or 4 sit down booths, the rest are high tops. It was fun watching everyone come in and just try to figure things out. Server took our drink order, all good. No beer or drink menu but they are new. Food menu is small and very limited. But they are new and the server said it will expand in time. After that, kind of slow. Had fun watching couples standing by a tables with dirty dishes for quite some time. Like 5 to 8 minutes. I really hate being that person waiting for a table to be cleared as I am sitting down drinking a beer watching them. But, they are new. Food was good, one burger came out correct, one had extra mayo when it was asked for no mayo. No bathrooms and had to go across the street due to a plumbing issue. So my point, they had all this time to get things right but so many things were not. Saw the same thing with Pucketts. All I saw was bad first impressions by everyone around us. The first time I went there the food and service was amazing, unfortunately the second time, my burger was tasteless and the service was horrible, there was only 8 tables in the restaurant and the servers were sitting around chitchatting away, didn't get a second drink, matter fact we had to ask another server for our Bill, the only thing that was good was the entertainment, Not the way I wanted to celebrate my birthday. read more

Not impressed-- tried to go this weekend which we knew we would probably have to wait and were fine with that. What we did not realize is there's not even a hostess and it's just first come first serve completely which would be fine with a better system. However there were people hovering over/stalking tables and snatching them as soon as others left, and then there's two different doors that people are coming in from so you don't even get the next available table because someone might come in from the opposite door and grab one. Came to The Local with my husband and a friend visiting from out of state. I wanted to impress her with a fun night out where we didn't have to drive to Nashville to listen to good music and enjoy a good meal at the same time . The musician was playing when we came in. Good song, but way way way too loud. We tried to talk to each other and found we were yelling at each other. Luckily it wasn't too too hot outside so we asked if we could eat outside. The food was great. The service was great and the we could hear the music well from outside. We have come back once since that time and again we had to go outside because the music was ridiculously loud. I'm at The Local, when you first set down it is great they ask you how your day is going. They ask you what you want to drink at first all is great, but when they are talking and forget about you. Now when you order food a stater and entrees you don't get the starter first they wait and bring it all out at the same time so now you eat fast to eat the hot entree so disappointed and the service eating theses cold fries. read more

I went for lunch the other day. There were 2 girls behind the bar. The first girl wouldn't even acknowledge that I was there and the second one noticed me after about 4 mins. Just not an overly friendly experience to start. I ordered a club sandwich. It was okay. I wasn't a fan of the fries although the bartender told me they were excellent. The menu seemed small as well and a Cobb salad with Chicken was $20. Yikes. This building has a long history of failed restaurants so hopefully things improve a little bit over time there! Our first visit to the Hendersonville Local and was very pleased. We didn't come in until 9:20 pm so we didn't have to deal with the dinner crowd. Seating was available, musics was good, service was attentive, a good experience. Had fish & chips and enjoyed that as well as an old fashioned. Definitely will be back. Walked in on a weeknight, sign reads "seat yourself." Sat down and waited about 10 minutes and saw no server even attempt to approach us. Walked up to the end of the bar obviously wearing my invisible shirt trying to inquire about a server or maybe even order drinks for our table. Nothing but eye contact as bartenders continued to tend to patrons at the bar. Walked back to our table, then we all got up and walked right out the door.
